[Bug 1374989] Re: When saving in 14.10 msgfmt: error while opening "" for reading: No such file or directory
Well, I have not (yet) bothered to learn how to use virtualbox, so that test will have to wait. My newly installed 14.10 (with the keyboard issue) is 64 bit, while the older 14.10 is 32 bit. [Bug 1270788] Re: logging out of guest session should notify that data will be cleared
Well, users who don't pay attention will always run into trouble irrespective of the desktop design. lightdm, and with that the guest session feature, is included in several distributions, for example Ubuntu with Unity, Xubuntu, Lubuntu and Kubuntu, and I think they may use different software for logging out from a session. Consequently, fixing this bug will probably require changes in several packages, and I don't think lightdm is one of them. (Still keeping lightdm as affected package for now.) Julian, considering that you seem to find the issue important, would you like to work with it? [Bug 1369424]
The behavior is deliberate (manage.cpp:~465 "// If a dialog is shown for minimized window, minimize it too") and likely intended to prevent the user from interruptions of minimized windows (the WM cannot decide whether this is spontanous or required) until the user moves focus to this window again. You will also notice that LOo does not unminimize nor (attempt) to gain focus if you open a *.ods (which does not require a conversion dialog) More interestingly, though the dialog is initially modal for the present window, it opens a new window with the csv (here at least), ie. the transiency and modality seems questionable in the first place. - My suggestion would thus be to rather "fix" the "libreoffice" script to either map/raise/activate the mainwindow when opening a new document? *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1261873 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1261873 Agreed. Issue still exists after 14.04 LTS upgrade with Samba 4.1.6. I noticed that the script from Raoul no longer works given that the version is 4.1.11, but I hesitate to install it given nothing I've seen referencing .11 working to resolve this issue. So is there a new ftp site for 4.1.6? Or does 4.1.11 work? [Bug 1377592] [NEW] [UIFe] Replace Pitivi with OpenShot
Public bug reported: Pitivi does not seem to work in 14.10. The attachment shows the output from my attempt to start it from a terminal window, and judging from the latest comment at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/727851 there is zero interest upstream to keep maintaining Pitivi. In the linked MP I propose that OpenShot is highlighted in the Ubuntu slideshow instead of Pitivi. The MP does not include a change of the Ubuntu GNOME slideshow, since I suppose it should be decided by the dedicated team. As regards the freeze exception, the change would not affect the Ubuntu Desktop Guide, and I will alert the translators about the new string if it gets approved. The proposal may have policy implications, so I have also started a thread at the ubuntu-desktop mailing list: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu- desktop/2014-October/004555.html ** Affects: ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Attachment added: "pitivi-error.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377592/+attachment/4225275/+files/pitivi-error.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377592 Title: [UIFe] Replace Pitivi with OpenShot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+bug/1377592/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1377600] [NEW] ufw errors after ctr+c interupt
Public bug reported: in ufw.util.get_netfilter_capabilities ``` # Cleanup cmd([exe, '-F', chain]) (rc, out) = cmd([exe, '-X', chain]) if rc != 0: raise OSError(errno.ENOENT, out) # pragma: no cover ``` if the `ufw xxx` command is interrupt by ctrl+c, the cleanup is not called, so every ufw cmd afterwards cause error: ``` ERROR: initcaps [Errno 2] iptables: Chain already exists. ``` I think we should catch error and cleanup in a finally statement. [Bug 1360660] Re: starlink-pal-0.5.0 requires erfa-1.1.0
Ok, so the goal is to run starlink-pal 0.5.0-1 on Ubuntu 14.04? You will probably need the erfa library available in Ubuntu Utopic, either by grabbing the package and installing it on Ubuntu 14.04 (might work), build it yourself, or request a backport. Since 14.04 has been released, very few changes will happen to the packages in the repository for stability/regression reasons. However, it is possible to request a backport of a newer version of the package, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports#Requesting_a_Backport, which makes it available in trusty-backports where users can install it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1360660 Title: starlink-pal-0.5.0 requires erfa-1.1.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/starlink-pal/+bug/1360660/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
