[Bug 1302615] Re: [FFe] [UIFe] Checkbox GUI needs to be able to send test results to Launchpad
** Description changed: We propose to add a new feature to the Checkbox UI, which will allow the user to send their test results to the Launchpad Hardware Database (https://launchpad.net/+hwdb/+submit). The UI will be changed to ask for the users Launchpad email address at the end of testing. After submitting they will see a response indicating whether submission was succesful or if some error occured. N.B. This reinstates a feature that was in Checkbox in previous releases, but was removed during Trusty development due to re- implementation of the Checkbox core and UI. This feature is considered beneficial as it will mean users will continue being able to send test reports to Launchpad, which may at a later date be used for currently undefined purposes (a past use has been to drive the Ubuntu Friendly database). The visible UI changes (warranting a UIFe) are in checkbox-gui, but in order for this feature to work fully, the following syncs will need to be done from Debian: - plainbox 0.5.3 - checkbox-ng 0.3 - plainbox-provider-checkbox 0.4 + - checkbox-support 0.2 Testing that has been performed as of now: - Package builds - Package installs on Trusty - Submit to Launchpad feature works, and no noticable regressions occur in regular usage of Checkbox UIFe requests to ubuntu-doc and ubuntu-translators https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-doc/2014-April/018849.html https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-translators/2014-April/006442.html -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1302615 Title: [FFe] [UIFe] Checkbox GUI needs to be able to send test results to Launchpad To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkbox/+bug/1302615/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1302077] Re: Hardcoded css style checks on GTK Theme instead of XGD_CURRENT_DESKTOP
Leo this will cause regressions, particularly for users of the high contrast theme. The overrides should be only applied to Radiance/Ambiance so you should check that in addition to XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP. Or if you can make the actual Radiance/Ambiance themes behave properly then this patch can be dropped. That's nonsensical. "Clone" means identical. We did actually try doing something like this at one point, where we'd set all the outputs to their native resolutions, overlapping, with their top-left corners aligned. Turns out that's a worse solution because desktop UI elements like panels get either placed in the middle of the screen (if you align them to the smaller screen) or only visible on one screen and not the other (if you align them to the larger). And people hated that, and rightly so, so now we pick the largest mode supported on both. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/509329 Title: Both monitors are set too low resolution when second monitor is attached from system start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-driver-ati/+bug/509329/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. [Bug 1304657] Re: world writable files in /var/lib/apt/lists
It appears that git commit 7335eebea6dd43581d4650a8818b06383ab89901 introduced the bug, i.e. the fchmod() call there. This was done in Tue Aug 27 2013. Ironically it was meant to improve the security of apt by replacing mktemp() with mkostemp() - oh well. No stable version of ubuntu is affected (and none for Debian) - the change was introduced in apt 0.9.11.2. The issue is caused by the confusingly named paramter "Perm" in FileFd::Open() which is not actually the Permission bits but the mode bits of open(). So 666 means something entirely different here in fchmod() than in open(). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1304657 Title: world writable files in /var/lib/apt/lists To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/1304657/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1003842] Re: dnsmasq sometimes fails to resolve private names in networks with non-equivalent nameservers
The same problem persists in 14.04. My DHCP server pushes two DNS servers: primary (10.0.0.3), located inside the local network and secondary (10.0.2.1), located in DMZ. Primary server's zone includes records for some servers that are accessible only from local network. Periodically (maybe after lease renew?) computer with 14.04 could not resolve local names which records are absent in seconary server's zone. Workaround is to make internal view for secondary server's zone in order to let computers from local network resolve such local names. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003842 Title: dnsmasq sometimes fails to resolve private names in networks with non- equivalent nameservers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1003842/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1304403] Re: Precise to Trusty - all of main - fails: Broken transition from libkadm5srv-mit8 to libkadm5srv-mit9
Hey Sam, > At a level deeper than "it causes apt to work correctly," why is adding replaces a reasonable fix? It indeed does not actually replace any files. This is purely to nudge apt into doing the upgrade to libkadm5srv-mit9, as otherwise the Breaks causes it to hold back half of the stack and remove krb5-multidev. So yes, the "missing Replaces" was perhaps misleading. We'll drop that change after trusty's release again, so it's only a temporary delta. Do you see a better way to do that?
