[Bug 1301482] Re: ubuntu 14.04 - sound icon is always blocked
Heureka! [Bug 1303139] Re: Kernel panic when dpkg attempts to install libc6
Any crasher bug in upstart is a very serious problem which we take seriously. While the issue is resolved for you (since the upgrade is now over), it's important that we find out the cause of the crash on your system, so that it doesn't happen to others. I understand that you don't have any crash files in /var/crash for this. That's strange, and I'm not sure why that's the case. But there are a few other things we can look at to try to reproduce the problem. Assuming you were upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04 using update-manager, you should have log files in /var/log/dist-upgrade. Can you please attach the apt.log. apt-term.log, and term.log from this directory? There have not been other mentions of this bug being seen when upgrading to upstart 1.12, so it is clearly not trivial to reproduce. It may help in reproducing this bug to have a complete copy of your upstart configuration. Can you tar up the contents of your /etc/init directory (tar zcvf ~/upstart-configs.tgz /etc/init) and attach the resulting tarball? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1303139 Title: Kernel panic when dpkg attempts to install libc6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/upstart/+bug/1303139/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1303266] [NEW] kubuntu 14.04: gui strange behaviour
Public bug reported: Hi guys, 14.04 is working great, but I notice this strange thing. I have a Radeon 3100 in my PC. It has two connectors, DVI and VGA. GUI is working seamless, glxgears showing 60FPS under all conditions (all effects enabled, wobbly windows and dragging the glxgears window around ...). When I connect the TV set to the VGA connector everything works as it should. But after the first boot after shutting down the PC (and disconnecting the TV set) the GUI is not seamless anymore. glxgears shows FPS between 50 and 60, dropping down to 30 if dragging the window around. After the second boot it is the same. The gui is stuttering. After the third boot everything is fine. No stutter, glxgears shows 60FPS under all conditions. This is always the same. The system needs to be booted 3 times until it is recovered from the connection at the VGA port. I have added the logs, in which I can't see anything noticeable. [Bug 1303271] [NEW] Spacebar and top-row 4 not working since upgrade to trusty
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to 14.04 Trusty the space-bar and top-row 4 don't work normally in the GUI, but they do work in the text console. Shift-space works, and shift-4 produces a $, etc. The 4 on the number-pad works fine. I have tried adding and removing keyboard layouts but it doesn't help. Other computers I have upgraded don't have this problem. I've tested this with both a wireless USB keyboard and a wired PS2 keyboard; there's no difference. [Bug 1298082] Re: Icon does not appear in application menu
Thanks for reporting this issue. I'm not able to reproduce this on my Ubuntu Trusty system. (Though note that I'm mainly running Ubuntu, but installed xubuntu-desktop to take a look at this, so an out-of-the-box Xubuntu system might behave differently). Though, when I search for Widelands in the menu, it displays the logo as expected (see attached screenshot). Could you check if this is still the case on an up-to-date system? Btw, when reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. [Bug 1303285] [NEW] No sound after suspend/resume
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm using the following system : Kubuntu 14.04 AMD64 AMD Phenom 9850 Mobo Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe w/ chipset NForce 570 SLI The issue that after a resume I always have no sound. The culprit is likely to be pulseaudio, as once I've killed it sound partially reappears for KDE system sounds. However for other apps, like for example VLC, this does not work. I've also remarked something very strange, i.e. after a resume another pulseaudio process is always started, don't know why, so this may be the cause of a mess, and when we attempt to kill it sound is not redirected to the PA process which was launched prior the suspend.
