[Bug 1299790] Re: [Apple Inc. MacBookAir4, 1] suspend/resume failure [non-free: wl]

2014-04-02 Thread Rachel Greenham
OK, it happened on 3.14. Confirmed that, as with the first time, the
pattern was close lid (observe backlight goes off, then momentarily
flashes on again) *then* plug in power; the next morning, unplug power,
open lid. *Keyboard* backlight is on, screen does not wake.

No indicator icon appears either. Starting amarok either through unity
or in the terminal starts two amarok processes, one of which is always a
zombie. If started in a terminal only one can be terminated from the
terminal, the other has to be done manually.

[Bug 1301211] [NEW] Bluetooth not working on Thinkpad T430

2014-04-02 Thread Jerry Preissler
Public bug reported:

Fresh install of 14.04 final beta. When I tried to pair my bluetooth
devices (Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad) yesterday I got mixed
results. I could pair the keyboard after a couple of tries, but I also
got a kernel oops. Not sure if this happened when pairing the keyboard
or the trackpad, the bug report with the automatically generated logs
can be found here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1300698

After a restart today bluetooth seems to have stopped working
completely. The indicator applet is grayed out and I can't connect the
paired keyboard. Trying to switch on bluetooth in the indicator applet's
menu changes the status slider, but apparently nothing else (keyboard
still blinking, probably searching for a connection). When I try to
switch on bluetooth in the system settings the status slider there
changes to "on" for a moment, then reverts back to "off". Restarting the
bluetooth service in /etc/init.d does not help, either. P.f.a. the
output in /var/log/syslog from both actions.

[Bug 1300839] Re: screen locker breaks multi-montor setup

2014-04-02 Thread Harald Sitter
Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the
KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate
your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at
https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this
speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more
effective debugging.

Thanks!

[Bug 1301225] [NEW] Parts of Text disappear in Firefox and Thunderbird Editors /Text Areas

2014-04-02 Thread Heiko Selber
Public bug reported:

System info:
Firefox 28
Thunderbird 24.4.0
Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit

When I edit text in Firefox or Thunderbird, parts of this text (usually
entire rows above the cursor) seem to disappear while I type.

This happens e.g. when I edit an email message inThunderbird, or edit a
Jira comment or a Wikipedia page in Firefox.

Sometimes the 'opposite' happens, i.e. a row is copied, so it is shown
twice.

The text is not really gone; I can restore it by selecting it (e.g. with
Ctrl-a). I.e. only the text display is affected.

The behavior is not quite reproducible. It does happen frequently, but I
can't reproduce it exactly by typing the same text again.

I had never observed this behavior before the latest Firefox upgrade.

don't drop the module from the PAM config when uninstalling a
foreign-arch package. Related to Ubuntu bug #1295521.

  * Add cgmanager support to logind. This will use the cgmanager socket

[Bug 1301245] [NEW] System unresponsive under (IO/memory?) load

2014-04-02 Thread Andrzej
Public bug reported:

Tasks producing a lot of IO activity and/or use large amount of memory
(uncompressing a .tar.gz file, starting a VM in virtualbox) starve the
rest of the system. The system is responding to user input very slowly
(jerky mouse pointer movement with >1s intervals etc). I have not seen
that issue on previous Ubuntu versions, this is the first time I use a
64 bit system with full disk encryption.

64bit Xubuntu 13.10. Full disk encryption. 4GB memory. Sony Vaio laptop.
Same behavior observed with Nouveau and NVidia drivers.

[Bug 1293413] Re: amarok does not play wma files in ubuntu 14.04

2014-04-02 Thread Roman
Brian, that bug is related to the "sessioninstaller" package that was
never installed in my system (I use KUbuntu, maybe sessioninstaller is
not used in KDE?). It cannot be a duplicate of that bug therefore.

However, it was fixed anyway and that is enough for me.

[Bug 1300936] Re: weird results from HUD

2014-04-02 Thread Pete Woods
I believe this is actually a bug presentation of the results in the
Unity shell. Some quick debugging in HUD reveals that "enter" does,
indeed, have the single, correct, result:

QUERY = ("enter")
suggestion "Enter Location… (Go)"

It seems like the Unity widget that presents the results doesn't always
handle resizing to only having a single result. If you repeatedly switch
between "ente" and "enter", you will see it sometimes showing no
results, and sometimes showing a single result.

[Bug 1300302] Re: Dead area at bottom when scrolling in scopes

2014-04-02 Thread Alan Pope ㋛
No, I was just playing with the device over the weekend when this
happened. I'd been playing with swiping up and down in the shell a lot,
and a lot of swiping right and left. I also had a unity crash when
running x-type (which doesn't crash now) just before the problem in this
bug report.

Yes, this is definitely a bug, I'm not claiming otherwise.

To look up the application I would just use d-feet. Under the session
bus, you can look up the connection name, and it will show you the
process name at the bottom of the view.

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2014-04-02 Thread Kom-Si
One more rather unpleasant discovery: 'Delete' button stopped working.
The button itself is OK, I checked. It's all the new keyboard settings,
I guess. Keyboard Layout Chart shows my 'Delete' button as 'Pause'. And
there's no way I can change keyboard type (I have a mini, without Num
pad).
