[Bug 1300038] Re: xubuntu 13.10 Saucy : lighttpd + phpmyadmin : post-installation status 2

2014-03-31 Thread fredboboss
zut ! I don't see how to attach multiple files, here is the tentative workaround
Fred

This file goes into /etc/lighttpd/conf-available/
so that when phpmyadmin is configured, it is enabled in lighttpd.

ll /etc/lighttpd/conf-enabled/50-phpmyadmin.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 36 mars  29 07:31
/etc/lighttpd/conf-enabled/50-phpmyadmin.conf ->

[Bug 1300037] [NEW] Sync gnonlin1.0 1.2.0-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2014-03-31 Thread Rico Tzschichholz
Public bug reported:

Please sync gnonlin1.0 1.2.0-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Update for the currently shipped prerelease.

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Drop LIBTOOLIZE boolean in debian/rules, as we now want to do it with
dh-autoreconf.
  * Drop 99_ltmain_as-needed.patch (use --as-needed in d/rules instead).

Can be droppped since the changes are included in debian now.

Changelog entries since current trusty version 1.1.90-1ubuntu1:

gnonlin1.0 (1.2.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream stable release.
  * debian/patches/99_ltmain_as-needed.patch,
debian/rules:
+ Drop ltmain.sh patch and use dh-autoreconf for all this.

[Bug 1300038] [NEW] xubuntu 13.10 Saucy : lighttpd + phpmyadmin : post-installation status 2

2014-03-31 Thread fredboboss
Public bug reported:

When installing phpMyAdmin on top of lighttpd, package configuration
exits with status 2 :

dpkg: error processing phpmyadmin (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Processing triggers for libc-bin ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
 phpmyadmin

Further deinstallation with apt-get remove also fails.

Possible solution ?
It seems the following configuration file is missing when the user is prompted
to select the HTTP server on which phpmyadmin is running :
/etc/lighttpd/conf-available/50-phpmyadmin.conf

As a workaround I created the lighttpd configuration with the following content
:

server.modules += ( "mod_alias")

alias.url += ( "/phpmyadmin" => "/usr/share/phpmyadmin" )

$HTTP["url"] =~  "^/phpmyadmin"  {
# Allowed IP addresses, this is a regexp : (127.0.0.1|127.0.0.2)
$HTTP["remoteip"] !~ "(127.0.0.1)" {
   url.access-deny = ("")
}
}

# Directory protection
$HTTP["url"] =~ "^/phpmyadmin/libraries" {
url.access-deny = ("")
}

And the installation with apt-get install phpmyadmin went successful.

Thank you for checking,
best regards,
Fred

[Bug 1256588] Re: PPC: LiveCD installation window vanishes during installation

2014-03-31 Thread Adam Smith
This may sound crazy, but does it work if you use the yaboot parameter
snd_powermac.blacklist=true? I'm just trying to think of things that
you did in saucy, and I know both Lars and Keith needed this. The
"Fixing recursive fault" bug was always a bit random, and maybe that is
causing the debconf lockup?

the Cyrillic alphabet, but I think the crash lines visible).

I still experience this in 14.04, not only alt-tab triggers this, simply

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the
KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate
your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at
https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this
speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more
effective debugging.

Thanks!

[Bug 1053911] Re: libguestfs-tools shouldn't have hard dependency on zfs-fuse daemon

2014-03-31 Thread Richard Jones
This has been essentially solved upstream for a while now. If Ubuntu
upgrades to libguestfs 1.26 / supermin 5.1.6, then you can split the
dependencies into subpackages.

For further information, see:

https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2014-March/msg00171.html
http://rwmj.wordpress.com/2014/02/26/new-in-libguestfs-1-25-38/#content
http://rwmj.wordpress.com/2014/03/20/analysis-of-the-size-of-libguestfs-dependencies/#content
Fedora split:
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/libguestfs.git/tree/libguestfs.spec?id=be0e44eab5b015b78373c15f07c9cbdb127ebfb1#n858

I'm still waiting on Hilko to include the patch above in the Debian
package, but it certainly worked for me when I tried it.

[Bug 1291526] Re: could not start ksmserver with nvidia-prime at next login

2014-03-31 Thread Harald Sitter
Moving to nvidia-prime again because I have absolutely no idea what to
do.

Yes, ksmserver crashes in the XIO errorhandler, the handler is from
kdelibs and meant to attempt a cleanup to prevent data loss. The problem
is not that it crashes, the problem is that it gets an XIO error with
prime, while it does not get one without it (i.e. because it does not
crash - even if it did manage a cleanup before exiting it would still
result in a defunct session as KSMServer does the session management)..

@Tim: as for permission, maybe the gdm user doesn't have the same
permissions as a standard user?

As for the stop script, wouldn't that require GDM to be stopped (rather
than just X)?

[Bug 1253620] Re: Can't open a LibreOffice native file via CIFS share

2014-03-31 Thread Andreas Heinlein
That version still sometimes crashes, sometimes gives "Generic I/O
Error". Not sure if this is still related to this bug, perhaps you can
point me at some way to find this out.

I might add that we had to symlink the usual mount point of GVFS mounts
from ~/.gvfs to /tmp/.gvfs- since home resides on an NFS mount
with root squashing enabled. Not sure if this makes any difference here,
but it is hard to test.

[Bug 1299920] Re: defaulting to qt5 does not work siunce QT_SELECT=qt4 is in the environment by default.

2014-03-31 Thread Timo Jyrinki
To add to the above, yes KDE should probably use se 'qdbus -qt4' (which
equals to setting QT_SELECT=qt4 before calling 'qdbus') to continue to
use Qt4's qdbus if the user installs qt5-default or sets QT_DEFAULT, but
KDE shouldn't be setting the QT_DEFAULT variable by default since it
affects user's experience.

[Bug 1300070] [NEW] valgrind 3.10/trunk update to support AArch64

2014-03-31 Thread Matthias Klose
Public bug reported:

The ubuntu-toolchain-r/test PPA has a valgrind build from the trunk,
which includes support for AArch64, and it is expected to have ppc64el
support integrated upstream. Proposing to update the valgrind for
trusty (before or post release) to this version. This needs additional
testing by the mir and phone developers, as it is used as a build
dependency for a lot of packages.

[Bug 1299920] Re: defaulting to qt5 does not work siunce QT_SELECT=qt4 is in the environment by default.

2014-03-31 Thread Timo Jyrinki
Yes, QT_SELECT shouldn't be set by default as it overrides the
qt[4,5]-default package. It's just possible KDE people not only overrode
PATH (which was now removed) but also set QT_SELECT somewhere else to
force the selection, which also should not be needed anymore thanks to
the fixes in Qt 4 and 5 packaging.

The reason KDE wanted to set the Qt 'development' settings is that they
use qdbus, and it's also handled by qtchooser despite not being strictly
development only tool.

I'd reassign this bug to some KDE package since I don't think there's
anything to be done in qtbase, but then again I don't know if it's kde-
workspace or something else that is setting the QT_SELECT now.

[Bug 1300075] [NEW] langpack complete fails to build with amd64 architecture

2014-03-31 Thread Paolo Sammicheli
Public bug reported:

Hello,

the italian team is preparing to release the localized version for the
upcoming LTS 14.04.

We have "it complete" in the langpack.txt file. Building the i386 image
everything looks fine. The amd64 image built with the same package
starts in english instead in Italian. The keyboard, the interface, the
default language when open ubiquity, etc is in English.

I tried to build it with "it" instead of "it complete" and both amd64
and i386 looks fine.

Attaching the build log of the amd64 image.

[Bug 1287753] Re: Please update to 331. 49 and/or provide Nvidia 334.21

2014-03-31 Thread Alberto Milone
@Jason: in theory nvidia-331-updates was supposed to be updated
frequently after the Ubuntu release, whereas nvidia-331 would remain at
the same version. In practice the SRU process is too slow for this, and
the main reason for keeping nvidia-331-updates around, is that on
development releases, after feature freeze, we can still update the
nvidia driver without breaking nvidia-331. In general we are more
conservative when dealing with nvidia-331.

It's probably a ghost output added by the BIOS. Disabling the output in
