[Bug 1282921] [NEW] unknown cronjob reports unclear error

[Bug 937968] Re: smplayer does not have sound indicator support

2014-02-21 Thread Ma Jun
The indicator support can be achieved by gsettings or deconf-editor of sound
indicator. The simple way is to add 'smplayer' into intrested-media-player.
Then there will be a quick launcher in the sound indicator.
The detail method can be found here:
http://www.howtogeek.com/113897/how-to-remove-media-players-from-ubuntus-sound-menu-add-your-own/

[Bug 1282847] Re: desktop ui scale is huge even though the setting is set to a scale of 1

2014-02-21 Thread Iain Lane
That slider only arrived in Ubuntu very recently and I'm afraid it's not
fully hooked up yet (when it is shortly it'll control the interface
scaling & hopefully the gtk one too).

For now, take a look at: gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface
scaling-factor - if this is '0' then the scaling factor is being
autodetected. You can override it with e.g. gsettings set
org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 1.

gtk can only scale by integers...

Sorry, not sure how to edit my last comment: I'm using an GeForce 630M.

Not sure if this helps, but it's strictly a visual freeze. The system
will recognize inputs after the "freeze" -- the screen just doesn't
update until you switch back and forth from the virtual terminals.

Hopefully that will help you debug the problem.

[Bug 1280366] Re: Bonding mode ignored

2014-02-21 Thread JSE
@JS Espinosa

That workaround is causing issues with IPv6, see bug #1280362
Hope it can be fixed soon, so no workaround is needed

Re: [Bug 1273386] Re: Neutron namespace metadata proxy triggers kernel crash on Ubuntu 12.04/3.2 kernel

2014-02-21 Thread Stefan Bader
Hey Allison, long time no see. :)

> Stefan, what's the most important thing we could do to help you help us?
> I see a few threads of inquiry in the comments that trailed off:

I would say either find a way to reproduce without OpenStack or manage to get
some crashdumps. The crashdumps might be simpler to prepare for and with luck we
catch the issue happening on those hosts set up to crashdump.
While that can be done without too much thought, being able to reproduce it
locally with a minimal dependencies would allow us quicker iterations when
trying fixes. also, Chris and I managed to approach the devstack setup in two
different ways and maybe both of us made little mistakes there (His being more
successful as I thought it to be a good idea to use a Xen guest but have not
thought of whether openstack supports nested with Xen).

The '-' lines are missed packages, AFAICT. You might want to add them.

[Bug 1281340] Re: Merge strigi 0.7.8-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

it's still in proposed and not in trusty-release yet.

I test the shortcat Alt+Shift.
It works only if shift pressed before alt. Pressing alt - pressing shift -
releasing in any order does not work.
With best regards.

[Bug 1282975] [NEW] Grizzly quantum agent with openvswitch-datapath-lts-raring-dkms fails to start

2014-02-21 Thread Ramon Acedo

Logging bug here as initially it seems it has to do with the

This used to work a couple of months ago. Tried in different physical

[Bug 1270571] [NEW] Systemsettings crash when interrupting kcm-language at loading

2014-02-21 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Crash if I close Systemsettings while kcm-language is loading, see
http://ubuntuone.com/2elkr9n33oAARtr5Bfl0xU. (Triggered in video:
clicked Locale and pressed Alt + F4 immediately.)

Reproducible with Kubuntu 13.10 and latest (01/19/14) Kubuntu 14.04
daily iso.

Initially this was reported here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329329 but Christoph Feck could not
reproduce it and I was also unsuccessful reproducing it using Opensuse
13.1 (same KDE version), so this seems to be Kubuntu specific.

2014-02-21 Thread Jerome
Hi,

I also had this problem. I looked for this file on the web and found a version
of it. It was recently added to the json spirit code.
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/20027/JSON-Spirit-A-C-JSON-Parser-Generator-Implemented

An temporary solution is to directly add it to your project until it is
added back.

[Bug 1282897] Re: Column sort arrows are the opposite of what is expected

2014-02-21 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
I think even more understandable than equilateral triangles would be
right-angled triangles of sorted lines:
.
_
__

for ascending, and
__
_
.

for descending. But other than that, absolutely, just flipping the
current arrows would be less confusing.

I don't think so, since the merge isn't even approved yet.

I think it seems reasonable, but can you outline the plan / timescale
for the a11y fixes that the MP mentions?

Does it share the logo with unity-greeter? We just started having this
generated at build-time, see:

  https://code.launchpad.net/~xnox/unity-greeter/off-the-
grid/+merge/205896

& /usr/share/unity-greeter/logo.png

so you don't need to ship it statically any more.

2014-02-21 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Hello, it seems that this cannot be reproduced on Trusty dailylive

Verified on 201304-13249 HP Pavilion 14 Notebook PC
Steps:
1. Install 14.04 Trusty dailylive (Feb.20, 3.13.0-10), boot to desktop
2. Insert a HDMI cable, tick the "Mirror displays" option in display applet
3. Apply the resolution change from 1024x768 to 800x600
4. Cycle through display modes by pressing F4

Actual result:
* From step 4, it will change from:
1. 800x600 mirrored
2. 1024x768 mirrored
3. 1366x768 + 1920x1080 extended
4. 1920x1080 external monitor only
5. 1366x768 built-in display only
6. back to 1

[Bug 1281728] Re: Unity8 random freeze on demo image

2014-02-21 Thread Michael Zanetti
So here's what's happening:

If an application crashes, apport starts to trace it. This takes a
couple of seconds delays the applicationRemoved logic until tracing is
finished. During this timeframe the surface of the crashed app is
already gone (or at least in a state where we can't screenshot it any
more). If the user interacts with unity in a way where it requests a new
screenshot (e.g. swiping from an edge) while in this state, it crashed
unity too.

Alexandros has proposed a patch to just return an empty screenshot in
this case. This works around the issue and just leaves us with a visual
glitch (invisible surface floating around) until apport is done with
tracing the app. This patch has been merged to the mwc demo ppa.

So right now doing a mwc flash followed by a apt-get update && apt-get
upgrade solves this for the MWC image.

[Bug 1281728] Re: Unity8 random freeze on demo image

2014-02-21 Thread John McAleely
Just re-flashed with the current MWC build @10am today. Was searching in
the video scope, and saw this crash.

** Attachment added: "crash files from scope search"

[Bug 1282590] Re: [FFe] standing freeze exception in trusty for Ubuntu Touch-specific packages

2014-02-21 Thread Didier Roche
for android/xpathselect: look at the rational on top of this bug report
and in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mir/+bug/1282593.

I removed qtxmlpatterns-opensource-src as per rationale (will be
included in the Qt 5.2 one)

click-update-manager -> not sure which manifest it's based on, but this
one has been dropped recently (see the email on the phone ML)

I'm happy if we add the others (libunwind and clickmanager-plugin). I
still think that gsettings-ubuntu-touch-schemas, the binary is only used
in touch.

I'm unsure why gsettings-ubuntu-schemas has gsettings-ubuntu-touch-
schemas as a source, can the desktop team work on removing that so that
we are not blocked to do a schema changed due to that?
