If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. Thank you for your understanding. ** Description changed: - I am opening a new bug for this issue because the previously reported bug - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/785078 - does not allow me to submit requested details as it was reported by others. No information about the current state was provided by the previous reporters. - The symptom is that occasionaly after resume from suspend or hibernate (possibly only if both are used after each other) the system does not restore. Instead the screen is in console mode and shows a message like PM: Device 00:0b failed to resume: error -19 It is not possible to change to a terminal or perform any other action than forced shutdown. So the complete workspace is lost. The message above is sometimes also shown after successfull resume so it does not need to be the reason for the system freeze. I will try provide more information as soon as the bug shows in my logs. My system is the current ubuntu 11.10 on a Lenovo thinkpad T61 (same as that of previous reporters) with intel grapics. No ultrabay connected (this has been an issue in previous reports). ** Tags added: needs-kernel-logs ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/979801 Title: resume from suspend still fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/979801/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1174275] Re: Random system freeze in 13.04
This is a frustrating problem. Since filing this bug i have reverted to 12.04, which also went about freezing randomly. It seems though that freezing is limited to when the machine is on battery power - i am still testing this but haven't had a freeze on mains power for a long while. That has lead me to believe that it is a wireless card problem, which also possibly explains all the issues i described above. I have a broadcom BCM43228 wireless card and had originally been running the driver through the additional drivers dialogue. I have since removed that (bcmwl-kernel-source) and built again from scratch, using the patches included here: http://www.mindwerks.net/2012/06/wireless-bcm4312 -with-the-3-4-and-3-5-kernel/ Was on battery power for about 5 hours last night and no freeze. I will continue testing today. If this works i might try and go back to 13.04 and build the driver again there. @Orionds: if you have the same wireless card on your machines running 13.04, perhaps you could give this a try . -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174275 Title: Random system freeze in 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1174275/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hao-Ran Liu, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. [Bug 1215798] [NEW] losing windows
Public bug reported: I found, that gnome-shell lose some windows. I see it in two ways: 1. gnome-terminal: after a restart - with ALT+F2 -> r or kill -HUP $(pgrep gnome-shell|head -n1) a terminal windows can not be opened any more, but is listed in ALT+TAB list (I add a video) 2. remmina: I opened a connection and sometimes the window is jist not to see any more - also not in ALT+TAB. But it must there, when I open a new connection in a other group I get a new window. When I open a new connection in the same group as the lost windows (it get normally attached as a new tab to the window) it get a connect to the server, but not the window. I can see on the terminal server and netstat, that the connection is established. [Bug 989071] Re: 046d:c52b USB keyboard isn't automatically detected
typo, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/989071 Title: 046d:c52b USB keyboard isn't automatically detected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/989071/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1215741/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1205713] Re: unable to type Greek characters to the dash
I'm sorry, i cannot understand what the phrase 'this bug is no resolve' means, does it mean that the bug *will not be resolved*, that *will not be resolved yet* or that *it cannot be resolved*? The situation now is that we no longer can change the keyboard layout with just one shortcut, but we have to use two. Also, we cannot set the shortcut just like eny other distribution to Alt+Shift or Caps Lock (that i use), but we have to use the Super key+ simething, so that every time we change the keyboard layout, the Launcher appears. One other thing, is that the keyboard indication is set to *En* and it does not change even if the keyboard layout changes to *Gr*. Ok, i'm truly sorry if that sounds (or reads) somewhat saucy (pun fully intended), but this really is not 'fix commited', this is hiding a problem while creating another, possibly bigger one. I would surely rather not having the option to type in Greek to the Dash, than adding two keys in my keyboard layout shortcut and not beeing able to see what my current layout is. Any info on what the plans for the matter are, would be appreciated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1205713 Title: unable to type Greek characters to the dash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1205713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
