Hello,
is this happening regularly (on the same search, or each time, or with specific

Thanks!

[Bug 1043654] Re: [FFe] New version of zentyal-samba

2012-09-10 Thread Jorge Salamero Sanz
#1042861, #1042859 are completely new packages, not necessary to make
-samba work. I filled FFe for them because we had blueprints for them
and was in the roadmap to make them into Quantal but we arrived late.

-common and -core were uploaded and samba was not ready yet, so we
decided to upload the core functionality first and same a few days
later, time run out and we entered in freeze...

To have packages in a working state we need to approve this FFe that
request the upload of zentyal-users, zentyal-samba and zentyal-squid.

[Bug 479826] Re: gnome-panel consuming 100% of CPU and driving up memory

2012-09-10 Thread Mats Karrman
Happened to me too yesterday.
Turning on the computer (it was fine before, no updates installed) I got some
messages about widgets that failed to load (happened before so I ignored it)
andthen the desktop was unusable. Gnome panel was sucking 100% and the panels
were totally unresponsive. Tried logging into a console and killing
gnome-pannel (respawning) and then killing it's parents but it didn't help.
Then I apt-get removed the gnome-panel package and reinstalled -- didn't help.
I then apt-get purged gnome-panel and reinstalled, still didn't help. So far no
resolution...

Also, please don't use bare "except:" stanzas. This will also hide
syntax errors and unknown identifiers like "subprocess.checkoutput".
Only intercept the exceptions that you actually expect, such as
subprocess.CalledProcessError.

[Bug 1048510] [NEW] Unable to create remote connections

2012-09-10 Thread Dirk Heinrichs
Public bug reported:

When I try to add a new remote database connection, I can't select any
database driver and thus, cannot create the connection. I have installed
all the QT4 database driver packages for PostgreSQL, SQLite and MySQL,
as well as libpqxx.

I think this is an Ubuntu bug, and not a Calligra one, since I've
verified that the same functionality works fine in another distribution
(Exherbo).

[Bug 479826] Re: gnome-panel consuming 100% of CPU and driving up memory

2012-09-10 Thread Mats Karrman
Forgot, I'm running 10.10 on x86_64 quad core.
I followed the suggestion in bug 545521 and removed everything under
~/.gconf/apps/panel/general and ~/.gconf/apps/panel/toplevels, rebooted and
then everything worked (but all customization was lost of course).
Attaching the removed files in case they are of any interest.

2012-09-10 Thread Alkis Georgopoulos
pitti, first of all I tried it and it works.

> This will just entirely ignore the "complete" flag and thus break this

It will ignore it only while calling check-language-support. It needs to
ignore it there, as check-language-support doesn't support "complete"
parameters. The "complete" parameter is only used in the while loop
starting at line 52.

> I don't think that works -- that's a variable with the list of
languages, not a file.

It's a file:
$ grep ^REQUESTED_LANGUAGES
ubuntu-defaults-builder-0.31/lib/language-support-hook
REQUESTED_LANGUAGES=/usr/share/#DEFAULTS_PACKAGE#/langpacks.txt

[Bug 1048512] [NEW] mobile broadband wizard can be invoked inside the greeter

2012-09-10 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Public bug reported:

When the user plugs in a mobile broadband dongle while inside the
greeter and there are no mobile broadband connections defined the menu
contains the item "New Mobile Broadband (GSM) connection..." even though
the user does not have network-control permission.

[expected result]
The menu does not contain "New Mobile Broadband" item if the user is missing
control-network or settings.modify permissions.

[actual result]
The user sees the item and can activate the mobile broadband wizard. After
completing the wizard an error dialog pops up informing that adding a new
connection failed because of missing permissions.

[Bug 1044057] Re: empathy no longer allows for extended jabber configuration

2012-09-10 Thread Guillaume Desmottes
Actually, you can create your account using the 'simple' account widget
and then change its advanced settings later.

The real bug here is that your account has been migrated to Ubuntu Online
Accounts but doesn't appear in the UOA panel.
Which Empathy version are you using? Could you please post the output of
'mc-tool dump' ? (mission-control 5.13.1 needed).

[Bug 1042369] Re: SCSI bus errors with 3TB HDDs + data corruption

2012-09-10 Thread Sean Clarke
I see that 12.10 beta 1 has been released and this contains an updated
kernel (3.5.0-14), is it worth testing with this or as I have confirmed
the bug is in the 3.6 upstream release there is no need.

Still no response from upstream, should this bug not be marked as
critical as it has been reproduced on 2 different systems and has caused
data corruption?

[Bug 711815] Re: Nautilus sometimes won't establish connection to windows share

2012-09-10 Thread Marcello Romani
I see this behaviour on one of our 10.04.4 x86 clients. The share is
located on a windows 2000 ad controller. The bug shows itself when
single-clicking on the windows share bookmark.

Sometimes just waiting a few seconds and then clicking again on the
bookmark makes the connection work.

Other times there's no way of connecting to the share by using the
bookmark. On those days the only way is using the File => Connect to
server dialog box, which always works.

So far this bug seems to affect only our single x86 10.04.4 client
machine. All other client machines that connect to the same windows 2000
share are 10.04.4 x64, and none of the shows the bug.

[Bug 1046950] Re: "Replace the customized configuration file '/etc/gdm/custom.conf'?"

2012-09-10 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
Firstly, I have never used auto-login on this computer. Secondly, even
if I had, the "AutomaticLoginEnable=False" line reflects that auto-login
was not turned on when I performed the upgrade. And thirdly, even if it
was turned on, there shouldn't be a configuration file conflict during
upgrade for everyone who has auto-login turned on.

[Bug 1041303] Re: Feature freeze exception request: Plz update Onboard to 0.98.0 targeted at quantal

2012-09-10 Thread Martin Pitt
This package doesn't seem to be based on the current quantal one? The
diff between quantal and this shows loads of changes to
debian/changelog, as far back as affecting changelog entries from
oneiric. This also drops the d-conf fix from
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/onboard/0.97.1-0ubuntu2. Could you
please review this again? Thank you!

[Bug 876017] Re: [FFE] Window management - We should be able to close windows in spread mode

2012-09-10 Thread Sam Spilsbury
** Summary changed:

- Window management - We should be able to close windows in spread mode
+ [FFE] Window management - We should be able to close windows in spread mode

** Description changed:

+ == Proposed Change ==
+
+ Add a small titlebar to each window in spread mode with just a close
+ button. Allows users to close windows in the spread
+
+ == Test ==
+
+ None as of yet.
+
+ This code is mostly all UI/Rendering code and wasn't exactly testable.
+ It might be worthwhile looking into writing AP tests for the close
+ functionality. The two revisions in question are:
+
+ http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~unity-team/unity/trunk/revision/2650
+ http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~unity-team/unity/trunk/revision/2662
+
+ I can vouch as the reviewer that the code was written correctly and
+ functions like the other compiz draw-on-windows code.
+
+ == Contingency? ==
+
+ We should just be able to revert those revisions. As nothing else is
+ planned to change on those code sections, reverting them should be
+ trivial.
+
1.Open 3 windows of nautilus or any application.
  2. Click on the application's icon in the launcher to activate spread mode.
  3. If you want to close one of the windows, you have to click on its preview,
than close it when it has focus. However, we should be able to close it
directly in spread mode (like in gnome shell) by clicking on a close button in
the upper left corner of each preview.

I attached a picture of how its done in gnome shell.

  -
  Note from design:

This feature will be added as part of 'The Spread', for more details
  see:

  -introduction-to-the-spread/

[Bug 1048520] [NEW] pin dialog pops up on each boot inside the greeter

2012-09-10 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
Public bug reported:

When user has a mobile broadband dongle attached to the computer (either
external or internal) with SIM card in place and PIN code has not been
disabled each time the user boots the machine SIM PIN Unlock dialog is
presented in the greeter. This happens because there is no way of
storing the PIN in general as system wide. The PIN can be stored per
system wide mobile broadband configuration, but that does not prevent
the PIN dialog from being displayed.

[expected results]
There is a way of preventing the SIM PIN dialog from popping up on each boot.

[actual results]
PIN dialog shows up on every boot.

Public bug reported:

When a mobile broadband connection is stored system wide with a pin code
the user is not able to activate the connection from the greeter even
though the user has network-control permission.

[expected result]
The user is able to active the system wide mobile broadband connection.

[actual result]
Upon activation an error dialog is shown: "Not authorized to control

[Bug 1035507] Re: xorg cannot find graphics card; also does not default to low graphics mode

2012-09-10 Thread Roman Masek
I see the same issue on my machine. It has started happening after I
migrated to a new disk. I installed 12.04.1 from scratch and copied my
old home directory over it.

Note that I use nvidia-current, not xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (original
bug reporter uses nvidia-current too IMO).

[Bug 1043518] Re: live cd is unusable due to video degradation

2012-09-10 Thread Martin Spacek
I still have this problem with the latest live-usb, from 2012-09-09.
This presumably incorporates any updates that I installed on the
previous live-usb from a couple days ago, so what must've fixed it for
me (i.e., not having to use "nomodeset" any more) was the installation
of the nvidia blob.

I forgot to mention earlier, when booting normally (nomodeset left
unset), the Xubuntu splash screen with the progress indicator comes up
normally. Eventually it stops throbbing, and after a little while the
screen switches to corruption.
