[Bug 479826] Re: gnome-panel consuming 100% of CPU and driving up memory
Happened to me too yesterday. Turning on the computer (it was fine before, no updates installed) I got some messages about widgets that failed to load (happened before so I ignored it) andthen the desktop was unusable. Gnome panel was sucking 100% and the panels were totally unresponsive. Tried logging into a console and killing gnome-pannel (respawning) and then killing it's parents but it didn't help. [Bug 1048510] [NEW] Unable to create remote connections
Public bug reported: When I try to add a new remote database connection, I can't select any database driver and thus, cannot create the connection. I have installed all the QT4 database driver packages for PostgreSQL, SQLite and MySQL, as well as libpqxx. I think this is an Ubuntu bug, and not a Calligra one, since I've verified that the same functionality works fine in another distribution (Exherbo). [Bug 711815] Re: Nautilus sometimes won't establish connection to windows share
I see this behaviour on one of our 10.04.4 x86 clients. The share is located on a windows 2000 ad controller. The bug shows itself when single-clicking on the windows share bookmark. Sometimes just waiting a few seconds and then clicking again on the bookmark makes the connection work. Other times there's no way of connecting to the share by using the bookmark. On those days the only way is using the File => Connect to server dialog box, which always works. So far this bug seems to affect only our single x86 10.04.4 client machine. All other client machines that connect to the same windows 2000 share are 10.04.4 x64, and none of the shows the bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/711815 Title: Nautilus sometimes won't establish connection to windows share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/711815/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 876017] Re: [FFE] Window management - We should be able to close windows in spread mode
** Summary changed: - Window management - We should be able to close windows in spread mode + [FFE] Window management - We should be able to close windows in spread mode ** Description changed: + == Proposed Change == + + Add a small titlebar to each window in spread mode with just a close + button. Allows users to close windows in the spread + + == Test == + + None as of yet. + + This code is mostly all UI/Rendering code and wasn't exactly testable. + It might be worthwhile looking into writing AP tests for the close + functionality. Click on the application's icon in the launcher to activate spread mode. 3. If you want to close one of the windows, you have to click on its preview, than close it when it has focus. However, we should be able to close it directly in spread mode (like in gnome shell) by clicking on a close button in the upper left corner of each preview. [Bug 1048520] [NEW] pin dialog pops up on each boot inside the greeter
Public bug reported: When user has a mobile broadband dongle attached to the computer (either external or internal) with SIM card in place and PIN code has not been disabled each time the user boots the machine SIM PIN Unlock dialog is presented in the greeter. This happens because there is no way of storing the PIN in general as system wide. The PIN can be stored per system wide mobile broadband configuration, but that does not prevent the PIN dialog from being displayed. [expected results] There is a way of preventing the SIM PIN dialog from popping up on each boot. [Bug 1043518] Re: live cd is unusable due to video degradation
I still have this problem with the latest live-usb, from 2012-09-09. This presumably incorporates any updates that I installed on the previous live-usb from a couple days ago, so what must've fixed it for me (i.e., not having to use "nomodeset" any more) was the installation of the nvidia blob. I forgot to mention earlier, when booting normally (nomodeset left unset), the Xubuntu splash screen with the progress indicator comes up normally.
