[Bug 1047659] Re: mountall fails to activate swap if device contains multiple filesystem signatures
Thanks. This confirms that it's not an issue with trying to reference a dm device by UUID. You mention that 'swapon -a' works. Does 'swapon /dev/mapper/datagram- swap_1' also work? I ask, because there really isn't any blkid handling in mountall, so the presence of multiple signatures shouldn't bother mountall at all. Could you also try editing /etc/init/mountall.conf to replace the 'exec mountall' line with: exec mountall --daemon --verbose $force_fsck $fsck_fix > /run/mountall.log 2>&1 reboot, and attach the resulting /run/mountall.log file? ** Changed in: mountall (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1047659 Title: mountall fails to activate swap if device contains multiple filesystem signatures To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/1047659/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Its is ok from Ubuntu view if Avian is compatible with IcedTea 7 2.3.2 and later that uses the new string layout. It is important that the avian package continue to work after IcedTea 7 and OpenJDK security updates that we can not plan of forehand when they occour. The avian package and the openjdk package gets rebuilt at differnt time. Best would be if there was no built time dependency and hardcoded offsets to prevent breakage when we upgrade to new openjdk versions and security updates. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1047389 Title: java -avian sigsegv on startup if used with a different OpenJDK 7 compared to the one it got built against. Re: [Bug 1047423] Re: openjdk-6-jre broken
Dear Matthias, icedtea-netx was installed. I reinstalled, but the problem persists. Then I saw that libnetx-java was not installed. Installing it did not solve the problem. Is there a problem with dependencies? When installing icedtea-netx openjd-6-jre and openjdk-jre-lib were requested! If I open koala.jnlp via nautilus, icedtea-netx is correctly recognized as the default application for jnlp. On opening, however, nothing happens. javaws still reports not being installed. I hope this problem can be sorted out. I know that 12.04 does NOT have this problem. Best regards ... Peter Glassel On Fri, 7 Sep 2012, Matthias Klose wrote: > no, it's in the icedtea-netx package. This issue seems to be solved in 12.10 Quantal beta 1. [Bug 1029085] Re: Stuttering in games with high fps and Nvidia
I have played a little with the settings again and I found the cause. You can get stuttering with activated Vsync in Compiz or with "Force fullscreen redraws on repaint". It's a dilemma. [Bug 1043654] Re: [FFe] New version of zentyal-samba
What are these: #1042861, #1042859? Are -ltps and -ups completely new packages? If yes why are the bugs filed agains -core? Are -ltps and -ups required to make -samba work? [Bug 1047261] Re: ecryptfs_encrypt_page: Error attempting to write lower page (regression)
I noticed that bug because my IntelliJ IDEA started freezing while opening the project. Thankfully it shows some information about background processes it runs, so I knew the problem was in indexing process. That process goes through the files in the project and creates indexes of those in IDEA's folder, so it uses filesystem quite intensively. First thing I tried to do was to delete indexes folder, and that didn't work: one of the subfolders was invulnerable. I couldn't delete it neither from command line nor from Nautilus. I could move it to trash, however. That's when I started to think something's wrong with the filesystem. While I was reporting this bug I didn't have IDEA running, and still was seeing new errors in the log. I can't name all the processes at the moment, as this was happening on my working notebook. But besides normal Ubuntu 12.04 processes I had Opera, Chrome, Skype, Dropbox, Telepathy running. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1047261 Title: ecryptfs_encrypt_page: Error attempting to write lower page (regression) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1047261/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1047067] Re: [FFE][UIFE][regression] workspace switcher layout needs adjustments
** Description changed: Workspace switcher layout should centralized as it was in 12.04. currently it looks like as attached in the screenshot. + + == CHANGE == + + A distro patch from 12.04 didn't get ported over. It was ported to use + the new compiz API when linaro released their version of compiz for + 12.04, so I've taken this patch as it was and applied it. A few changes + were made to get the code under test. + + == TEST == + + Unit tests are included, they don't cover a very large amount of the + code (many changes in the diff are as a result of refactoring some + larger functions into smaller ones, and these changes are not trivially + testable). + + The tests that are there they do cover functionality which is + substantially new, such as the code to calculate the spread view offset + in world co-ordinate space (60 tests) and the code to determine which + viewports should be lit (5 tests). + + == WHY == + + If we don't have this patch, we'll regress significantly from 12.04 in a + way that is easily avoidable. + + == REGRESSIONS? == + + Not anything substantial from 12.04, the only potential is regressions + that might stem from the subsequent changes to get the code under test + (however I found that doing this caught a lot more potential bugs). ** Branch linked: lp:~smspillaz/compiz/ubuntu.fix_1047067 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1047067 Title: [FFE][UIFE][regression] workspace switcher layout needs adjustments To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/1047067/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1047778] [NEW] memory upgrade from 4gb to 8gb... kernel generic failed to use extended memory
Public bug reported: Firstly, my apology for a relatively inexact bug report but i'll try to mention the important factors. After purchasing another 4gb memory for my ubuntu desktop, the BIOS identified the memory correctly. Ubuntu showed only 4gb memory. Since the PC had Ubuntu installed pre-memory-upgrade, it was using the generic kernel which was by default correct for a 4gb PC. To get my new memory recognized in ubuntu, i had to google a fix to this, which was a nicely documented ubuntu howto and the fix was a one- line command to get the PAE version of the kernel activated. A reboot later, the memory issue was fixed. I would like Ubuntu, somewhere near the end of the startup process, to automatically check for the scenario "if the PC is using the generic kernel, but BIOS memory is over 4gb, to pop-up a suggestion to activate PAE" In line with making "things just work" this should be relatively simple to implement but would assure end users are not left alone to try to fix similar issues. At least Ubuntu 12.04 LTS did not pick up on this automatically. Does anyone second this? Is the proposed modification sensible and doable? -- lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release:12.04 -- ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1047778 Title: memory upgrade from 4gb to 8gb... kernel generic failed to use extended memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1047778/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
