[Bug 999910] Re: [IVB]12.04 64 bit System freezes (mouse, keyboard)
I just installed Kernel 3.2.0-27._43_ from proposed updates, and my system froze hard a minute after login. @Timo: Does Kernel 27.43 include your changes from 27.42? (I hoped so.) System specs: Ubuntu 12.04 64bit, i7-3770, 16GB RAM, Intel SSD 520, Intel DZ77BH-55K Mainboard. [Bug 812936] Re: iBus does not saves my settings regarding the toolbar
Thank you for your feedback. Whether properties on language panel are saved are engine dependent. Since you are talking about cangjie5, I think you are using "ibus-table" engine. "ibus-table" in Ubuntu 12.04 should be able to save Chinese Mode setting. If you still using older Ubuntu releases, you may change /usr/share/ibus-table/engine/table.py manually as a workaround. Dear Vedavata, you're welcome ! I didn't understand what you meant exactly , i list the commands needed to make blink works again : - install libgcrypt11 package, according with your ubuntu version and system architecture, in my case 64bit lucid ubuntu. http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/amd64/libgcrypt11/download another example 32bit precise ubuntu http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/i386/libgcrypt11/download - after you download, install the package by clicking on it or through terminal command sudo dpkg -i package_name.deb - next echo libgcrypt11 hold | sudo dpkg --set-selections. Thats it ! No more steps needed . About the definitive solution on libgcrypt11 package , we have to wait for blink's team ultimate work as gdi2k reported on comment #3. [Bug 128357] Re: boinc does not idle with mouse movement
I'm using 12.04 Precise, BOINC version 7.0.24, and it does now seem to stop computation. However, now I'm having the opposite problem. It doesn't seem to detect that the computer is idle to be able to resume computation. I have while computer is in use unchecked, and I have if the computer has been idle for 2 minutes. My work units switch to a status of "Suspended - computer is in use". I now step back from my computer and wait 2 minutes. My work units do not resume computation. I think the idle detection is still broken. [Bug 1021517] Re: Full system crash using any tool in Gimp
I have tried to reproduce, but it fails. Indeed that was what I have expected. The bugrate on this is to low on launchpad as that could be a common bug of GIMP to all. "step5: crash (login window appears)" from comment 5. That is a very valuable hint. It says that you have not so far a problem with GIMP, it is the xserver of your system that crashes. Gimp is just hitting the weak point of xserver. Xserver bugs are mostly hard to debug, but in your case it is possible, because you can reproduce it. --- The easiest way would be, if the system has gathered the crash by itself, but has not send it. Please check the directory /var/crash/ with nautilus if there is a .crash file of xorg or metacity or similiar. (You can post a list of files here if you want). With a right mouse click -> open with -> report problem you can send this manually. It should be entered in the crash database(no seperated ticket), but maybe you get a launchpad ticket Please report back. [Bug 1022238] [NEW] Forgets to scan on startup
Public bug reported: I've used XBMC for many years. When it starts, it scans the library it knows, looking for new stuff. But now it doesn't, on the version in Precise (12.04). Edit any "files" entry to point to media. Check the box that says "scan this area on startup" and end the edit normally. Leave XMBC, re-enter and watch as it does nothing. This isn't seeing it wrong or a single test; every machine in my house, running Precise and XBMC, having turned on these checkboxes, never scan on startup. While not a segfault on boot, it's still kind of a pain...and I'll bet it's something simple that was overlooked; the code has worked for years. Thanks so much for what you do! [Bug 945603] Re: lxkeymap crashed with IndexError in finish_initializing(): list index out of range
For some reason my system said the bug I was trying to report (via the automatic bug reporter) was the same as this bug. But from the description, its not because the lxkeymap thing won't even start for me at all. I am using CR-48 Chrome notebook. the CPU is a Intel Atom model N455 @ 1.66GHz if that helps. Also, I will probably try to find how to report another bug on Lubuntu in general. Because I had a strange issue in package management. I wanted to uninstall Chromium from Lubuntu (cause I prefer Midori, much lighter, faster, and has all the needed extensions included by default) But when I did remove Chromium, Firefox was automatically installed. I have no idea why. So I uninstalled Firefox, and then Epiphany was install (also called "Web"), I uninstalled Epiphany, then for some reason, Rhythmbox was installed. And it continued to get more strange from there. The only way I was able to solve this, was use Synaptic, and each time a package was marked to be installed because I was removing another, I "unmarked". It took about 10 or 15 minutes, but finally got all the strange packages removed. But it was very frustrating to have to go through all that just cause I wanted to remove Chromium. >:-( That aside, I am still willing to stick with Lubuntu for a while, cause it is WAY too fast to give up on it so easily. [Bug 901097] Re: Add option to use glXSwapBuffers on every frame, not just full-screen redraws.
Care must be taken with removing glFinish as doing so may cause additional latency. Ideally the drawing should occur as late as possible, right before the buffer swap (1-5 ms latency at compositing stage) but it may be difficult to guarantee that the deadline isn't missed (causing frameskips). Drawing right after the previous swap is much easier and still acceptable (one frame latency). If no glFinish is done, the display driver may buffer multiple completed frames, leading to high latency. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901097 Title: Add option to use glXSwapBuffers on every frame, not just full-screen redraws.
