[Bug 979595] [NEW] Transmission disappears from launcher when it should not

2012-04-12 Thread Sepero
Public bug reported:

100% reproducible. The transmission window is showing, but not
recognized as existing by Unity Launcher.

Steps to reproduce
1. Start transmission
2. Close it to system tray
3. Click on the transmission icon
4. Select "Show Transmission"
5. After the transmission window appears, change focus to any other program
window
6. Click on the transmission icon
7. (Un)Select "Show Transmission"
8. Select "Show Transmission"

At this time the transmission window appears, and is not found in the
Unity Launcher. If transmission is pinned in the launcher, it attempts
to start a new instance of the program.

With recent updates indicator-session correctly indicates updates available.
The restart indication, e.g. when a new kernel arrives, is delayed but
eventually appears.
I'll verify this on pc also and mark it as solved then. Thank you.

[Bug 979478] Crash report cannot be processed

2012-04-12 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

outdated debug symbol package for conky-all: package version 1.8.1-6 dbgsym
version 1.8.1-2
libglib2.0-0 version 2.32.0-1ubuntu2 required, but 2.32.0-1ubuntu3 is available

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

[Bug 880876] Re: Unity causes ibus to not work correctly (spaces incorrectly placed)

2012-04-12 Thread Kevin
I'm using the beta version of Ubuntu 12.04 Precise (64bit), and this
problem doesn't seem to exist anymore after upgrading a few times from
the beta1 (more precisely after upgrading unity). So if you install
beta2, it should be fine.

Precise is still in the beta stage, but for me, it's much better than Oneiric.
It also has some serious other bugs fixed (e.g
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/818830
)

I also had a problem with getting files in NTFS file system on my
external HDD when I used Oneiric. It said there was 0 file but there
were files. I had had it until I upgraded to the Precise beta.

[Bug 975749] Re: writer mail merge cannot select address book

2012-04-12 Thread Linux Lover
I was also able to reproduce this bug.

1) Open LibreOffice Writer
2) Go to Tools> Mail Merge Wizard
3) Click on "Select Address List" on Step 3.
3) Error shows: "Loading component library failed:
file:///usr/lib/libreoffice/program/.../program/libdbalo.so"

Looking through the system, I see that "libdbalo.so" is found at
/usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/libreoffice/program
and not on the location that the error shows.

[Bug 971886] Re: QA: warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules

2012-04-12 Thread Keng-Yu Lin
These warnings come from ACPICA source codes that are pulled in bulk
from http://www.acpica.org/.

We are assuming that ACPICA behaves in the good way without having to
modify.

Does these warnings prevent fwts from building in gentoo?

Re: [Bug 902715] Re: [Precise] Sound indicator have a silent menu item with are not accessible for screen reader

2012-04-12 Thread Attila Hammer
I think this item is a silent menu item (or slider style widget).
If I press left or right arrow key, the sound volume is increased or
decreased right, but not happening any events to visual impaired user
know the change.
Possible associate this widget a translatable accessible name or
description and spokening for example in percentage the actual volume
when the value is changed with arrow key presses?

[Bug 880876] Re: Unity causes ibus to not work correctly (spaces incorrectly placed)

2012-04-12 Thread Kevin
I mean I had had that NTFS issue until before I upgraded to the Precise
beta. So if you are sick of this ibus issue, you'd better try the
Precise beta then you may have not only the ibus bug fixed, but also
other ones . Yet, it's still beta so it's better to use Live CD or USB
to make sure you don't have any major problems with it on you computer.

Re: [Bug 953176] Re: [Precise] power indicator some menu items inaccessible with Orca Screen reader

2012-04-12 Thread Attila Hammer
Hy,

The indicator power package related fix is great, thank you very mutch
the fix.
If not a big request, anybody possible look following bug with
indicator-sound package related and do a similar fix the volume slider
menu widget?
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/902715
This widget is a silent widget with Orca doesn't possible telling any
informations, and if I using left and right arrow this widget, the
changed volume is doesn't spokening.

I only would like ask one hint:
Some notification type main menu items doesn't have labels or accessible
name/description. For example if happened a crash my system, if I moving
between the indicators main categories, I hear only "menu". If I press
down arrow key, i right hear "crash report" menu item.
Have similar issue some time in keyboard indicator, and some time the
updates related notification main menu.
What packages are need reporting this issue?
Other indicators are great now.

Attila

[Bug 969359] Re: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu

2012-04-12 Thread James
My normal use includes running Google Chrome, Eclipse PDT, terminal,
CXOffice, Spotify/Last.fm, Pidgin, Gedit. I cannot pinpoint a particular
action I'm taking that causes it, I just notice that my laptop fan is
going crazy, I check the process list and gnome-settings-daemon is up
there using 100%.

You mentioned it could be pulseaudio - I do listen to last.fm/Spotify
(both Linux clients), so perhaps that could be the trigger?

[Bug 933209] Re: No sound after startup (audio device shown as Dummy Output)

2012-04-12 Thread David Henningsson
Yes, that's helpful. This one seems to be the first sign of failure:

> dbus[625]: [system] Failed to activate service
'org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit': timed out

Without consolekit, PulseAudio won't have access to sound cards.

Second, this:

> pulseaudio[1075]: [pulseaudio] server-lookup.c: Unable to contact D-Bus:
> org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NotSupported: Unable to
> autolaunch a dbus-daemon without a $DISPLAY for X11

It looks like pulseaudio is first being started inside a console, or
some other context that can't access X.

I'm really not an expert on the consolekit/dBus stuff, but it looks like
PulseAudio is not the primary source of failure here.

> I noted that pulseaudio is started by 106 on startup, is this normal?

It would be normal to have it started by lightdm at startup, but I don't
know if this is the same as "106".

It doesn't exist in sid. packages.debian.org is buggy, see
http://bugs.debian.org/546793.

[Bug 958306] Re: Bug in software centre

2012-04-12 Thread Paul Alkhimov
When system started, the message about the crash appeared (I did not
mention any problem). So I have no idea, what crashed and where. The
report was sent though.

[Bug 979624] [NEW] why Recommends rsplib-tools?

2012-04-12 Thread Kenyon Ralph
Public bug reported:

I see no reason for subnetcalc to Recommend rsplib-tools. Since
Recommends are installed by default, this results in several unnecessary
packages being installed.

Same issue with fractgen (I see these are all by the same author).

Thanks for subnetcalc, by the way. I find it very useful.
