[Bug 884941] Re: Ctrl-L on desktop puts location on the top of the screen (when using no toolbars)
Nautilus handling the desktop under gnome-shell seems to be the default for the guest session, according to gnome-tweak-tool and observed behaviour. For example, right clicking on the desktop allows you to create new folders and documents. The Ctrl-L bar is definitely not appearing: there's nothing taking input focus so typing '/tmp' doesn't open a file browser, and the wallpaper doesn't shift as you've observed it does when the Ctrl-L bar does appear. I don't have gnome-panel installed at the moment so can't compare the behaviour there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/884941 Title: Ctrl-L on desktop puts location on the top of the screen (when using no toolbars) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/884941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 801106] Re: Fn-key setting reset after resume of Thinkpad Edge E220S
Affects me as well, couldn't yet determine the cause either. It seems as if it sometimes locks itself while normal use. I have to note though that sometimes other keys lock up as well, namely Alt or the arrow keys. However those can be unlocked by double-tapping the problematic key. But not for the Fn lock, I've tried many combinations without success. Hibernating is a workaround all right, but it's much slower than a reboot, which makes it a poor option. [Bug 898512] Re: opening a minimized windows it takes all the screen even with panel autohide off
This does not seem to be the case here, this is what I did when trying to reproduce the problem. 1. started ccsm and set the launcher to never hide. 2. opened firefox, maximized it. 3. clicked on the firefox icon in the launcher and it appeared without any dis-orientation. Could you verify if I am following the correct steps to reproduce the problem or am I missing something. [Bug 886521] Re: CONFIG_XEN_PLATFORM_PCI should be "y" when building 3.1 kernel
Stefan, Yes, the unplug "feature" was added in Xen between 3.3 and 3.4 (the magic port to support it), and it, um, somewhat lacks OS friendliness. The config file to achieve desired results is also non-obvious. It generates significant problems in moving VMs from Xen3 to Xen4, and also upgrading domU kernels (for instance, an upgrade from Lucid/Maverick to Natty/Oneiric/Precise will cause the emulated disk to disappear as well as the PV disk to appear under a different name, which will cause a reboot failure). In my opinion, it would have been better to leave the emulated disk there, possibly doing something to lock it (so it couldn't be mounted) or remove it if the PV disk is opened. It would also have been useful to give more control to the dom0 in what might and might not be unplugged. But "we are where we are". As far as having a 3.0 kernel which accesses emulated disks but not PV disks, you can do this by disabling the whole of the PCI system, either from xen.conf or by blacklisting the module, or possibly by one of the command line boot scripts. But of course this will affect your net drivers too.
