[Bug 75654] Re: deleted songs listed again when using library watch

2011-12-01 Thread Alexandre Provencio
In addiction, Rhythmbox can't detect songs removed from outside (ex:
file browser) even though living inside the monitored directory. I have
smart playlists based on file location, if I move a file from one
location to another even though still inside the monitored tree, changes
won't be detected. Should I open a new bug report on this?

[Bug 898583] [NEW] nova_sudoers allow unused commands

2011-12-01 Thread Thierry Carrez
Public bug reported:

While working on nova-rootwrap I noticed that the currently packaged
nova_sudoers file allows the nova user to run as root commands that are
not called from nova code. Those should be checked and cleaned up:

  /sbin/ifconfig,
  /sbin/iptables,
  /sbin/pvcreate, (mentioned twice)
  /sbin/vgcreate, (mentioned twice)
  /usr/bin/virsh, (used, but as non-root)
  /usr/sbin/vblade-persist,
  /sbin/aoe-discover,

Ah, ok.

After removing .desktop files and restarting session, problem is solved.

Everything works now except now Epiphany was default app in Nautilus

I don't know how come I have 4 .desktop files for Gedit, probably
updates, uninstall/install.

Thanks.

[Bug 884941] Re: Ctrl-L on desktop puts location on the top of the screen (when using no toolbars)

2011-12-01 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Do you get nautilus to handle the desktop under gnome-shell? They don't
do it upstream by default, are you sure that it doesn't do it but got
hidden behind the gnome-shell panel bar?

Here on a gnome-panel session it displays the bar next to the gnome-
panel bar and shifts the wallpaper, that's no "under the bar" like in
unity but still seems buggy compared to the small box dialog it opened
before GNOME3

I think that this is related to

Ubuntu support armv7 + and by default compiles with thumb2 support; as a
result I think that -mno-thumb-interwork, in debian/rules causes a
problem on Ubuntu which does not happen in Debian.

[Bug 884941] Re: Ctrl-L on desktop puts location on the top of the screen (when using no toolbars)

2011-12-01 Thread Mark Wilkinson
Nautilus handling the desktop under gnome-shell seems to be the default
for the guest session, according to gnome-tweak-tool and observed
behaviour. For example, right clicking on the desktop allows you to
create new folders and documents. The Ctrl-L bar is definitely not
appearing: there's nothing taking input focus so typing '/tmp'
doesn't open a file browser, and the wallpaper doesn't shift as you've
observed it does when the Ctrl-L bar does appear.

I don't have gnome-panel installed at the moment so can't compare the
behaviour there.

[Bug 801106] Re: Fn-key setting reset after resume of Thinkpad Edge E220S

2011-12-01 Thread nagy.pite
Affects me as well, couldn't yet determine the cause either. It seems as if it
sometimes locks itself while normal use.
I have to note though that sometimes other keys lock up as well, namely Alt or
the arrow keys. However those can be unlocked by double-tapping the problematic
key. But not for the Fn lock, I've tried many combinations without success.

Hibernating is a workaround all right, but it's much slower than a
reboot, which makes it a poor option.

Machine's a E420s, with 11.10 amd64

Uname: Linux 3.0.0-14-generic #23-Ubuntu SMP x86_64

2011-12-01 Thread Omer Akram
This does not seem to be the case here, this is what I did when trying
to reproduce the problem.

1. started ccsm and set the launcher to never hide.
2. opened firefox, maximized it.
3. clicked on the firefox icon in the launcher and it appeared without any
dis-orientation.

Could you verify if I am following the correct steps to reproduce the
problem or am I missing something. If I am doing it correctly, can you
please login to a guest session and try to reproduce the problem there
and let us know of the situation.

[Bug 897777] Re: DMA bug with ICH7-M

2011-12-01 Thread Ben Whitten
@Brad

I have tried the snapshot dated yesterday (29th November) and it
exhibits the same problem.

Unicorn computers have confirmed that it used to work with older kernels it
seems, I have not had a chance to verify this. Here is their list of examples;
NAMEKERNEL
Debian 4.02.6.18-6-686
FreeBSD 6.4
FreeBSD 7.1
Fedora Core 8 2.6.23.1-42.fc8
Fedora Core 9 2.6.25-14.fc9.i686
OpenSUSE 10.32.6.22.5-31-default
OpenSUSE 11.0
Arch Linux 0.72
Mandrake 10.0
Ubuntu 8.04 2.6.24-16-genernic

I shall now start going back and seeing where the break appears.
Also attached is a picture of the default BIOS options for the IDE controller
on this board, in-case there is an option in here.

[Bug 898604] [NEW] Kubuntu 11.10 keyboard shortcuts fail

2011-12-01 Thread Antonio Sánchez
Public bug reported:

Hello.

It seems keyboard shortcuts custom associations are not working in
Kubuntu 11.10 (64 bits).

I have created a shortcut for opening E-mail client (Thunderbird) using
'Mail' hot-key, using 'Standard shortcuts' preference window. The hot-
key is detected and the shortcut is configured, but pressing the hot-key
does nothing. The same for other keyboard combinations.

Conversely, audio volume hot-keys are working, even the corresponding
association in 'Global shortcuts' for Amarok is empty, while shortcuts
for 'stop/pause/next...' are attached to the corresponding hot-keys but
these are not working.

It is a fresh installation.

[Bug 898558] Re: libv8 version 3.4.14.21-5 failed to build on armel

2011-12-01 Thread kapouer
With the move to gyp builds, debian libv8 >= 3.5 will probably break again
what's done here and now.
Is there a way to know that arch is armv7 when built within ubuntu ?
In debian we know that by checking DEB_HOST_ARCH == armhf and setting
appropriate flags (in debian/rules)

[Bug 886521] Re: CONFIG_XEN_PLATFORM_PCI should be "y" when building 3.1 kernel

2011-12-01 Thread Alex Bligh
Stefan,

Yes, the unplug "feature" was added in Xen between 3.3 and 3.4 (the
magic port to support it), and it, um, somewhat lacks OS friendliness.
The config file to achieve desired results is also non-obvious. It
generates significant problems in moving VMs from Xen3 to Xen4, and also
upgrading domU kernels (for instance, an upgrade from Lucid/Maverick to
Natty/Oneiric/Precise will cause the emulated disk to disappear as well
as the PV disk to appear under a different name, which will cause a
reboot failure). In my opinion, it would have been better to leave the
emulated disk there, possibly doing something to lock it (so it couldn't
be mounted) or remove it if the PV disk is opened. It would also have
been useful to give more control to the dom0 in what might and might not
be unplugged. But "we are where we are".

As far as having a 3.0 kernel which accesses emulated disks but not PV
disks, you can do this by disabling the whole of the PCI system, either
from xen.conf or by blacklisting the module, or possibly by one of the
command line boot scripts. But of course this will affect your net
drivers too.

Alex
