[Bug 742544] Re: Launcher is shown on the wrong screen in some multi-monitor setups
Set, how does the monitor.xml have to look like? I don't have it on my system. I use disper for switching, and I have the same problem as Bart (comment #16) - I would like to keep my launcher on my primary, right screen, for similar reasons (bug #806909), so I'd argue that there's use cases for that configuration, too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/742544 Title: Launcher is shown on the wrong screen in some multi-monitor setups To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/742544/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 522998] Re: XHCI (USB 3.0) kernel Module Prevents Suspend
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W510, and the following works flawlessly for me: 1) As root/sudo, create /etc/pm/sleep.d/20_custom-xhci_hcd with the following contents: #!/bin/sh # File: "/etc/pm/sleep.d/20_custom-xhci_hcd". TMPLIST=/tmp/xhci-dev-list case "${1}" in hibernate|suspend) echo -n '' > $TMPLIST for i in `ls /sys/bus/pci/drivers/xhci_hcd/ | egrep '[0-9a-z]+\:[0-9a-z]+\:.*$'`; do # Unbind xhci_hcd for first device :XX:XX.X: echo -n "$i" | tee /sys/bus/pci/drivers/xhci_hcd/unbind echo "$i" >> $TMPLIST done ;; resume|thaw) for i in `cat $TMPLIST`; do # Bind xhci_hcd for first device :XX:XX.X: echo -n "$i" | tee /sys/bus/pci/drivers/xhci_hcd/bind done rm $TMPLIST ;; esac 2) sudo chmod 755 /etc/pm/sleep.d/20_custom-xhci_hcd I didn't need to create the /etc/pm/sleep.d/05_xhci file as suggested by @Gabou, nor did I need to do anything with /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist- xhci_hcd.conf or /etc/pm/config.d/unload_module, as suggested by @Martin. In fact, these three files don't exist on my machine. For other laptops that have ehci_hcd devices which cause suspend problems, I think this script will work by simply replacing xhci_hcd with ehci_hcd, although this isn't directly relevant to this bug report. This works even with two usb devices plugged into the ports when I suspend and then resume -- the devices work and don't need to be plugged in or out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/522998 Title: XHCI (USB 3.0) kernel Module Prevents Suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/522998/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 807357] Re: Log Out / Restart / Shut Down dialogs can get lost behind other windows
Correction: The dialogs are created modally, but they are apparently modal without a parent. So can still get lost behind other windows. Anyway, the fix was trivial. But it worked in 9.04 and if I remember right 9.10 also. 10.04 was the version that broke it. Can't really believe it was pure accident, that it worked before. Am 08.07.2011 07:56 schrieb "Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre" : Ah, unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to match 3G modem to particular connections yet (including because you technically could use the same stick with multiple connections). My suggestion would be to try something though: verify what the network ID might be when you connect (which you should be able to tell from the modem logs (the number in the +COPS command), from information on the internet (http://wiki.sakis3g.org/wiki/index.php?title=Known_operators) or elsewhere. For instance, 23210 appears to be the ID for Drei; and 23203 would be the one for T-Mobile. You may want to try those in the Network ID field in the connection's configuration dialog, but it's not exactly what it's meant for (e.g. the connection will still try to activate, fail, etc.). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. Yes, that would make sense. However the version of pre-removal script that gets run is the one that is being removed, which is the old broken one. Seems to be the way debian packages work, always. [Bug 807128] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGABRT in raise()
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. You might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
