[Bug 798044] [NEW] alt+f2 history function forgets some commands

2011-06-16 Thread Redmar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

I use multiple firefox profiles, so I start firefox with firefox --no-
remote. Since its not possible to add this command to the unity bar I
use alt+f2 and then run that command.

I use this command every day, multiple times a day. But somehow unity
cannot remember this command between reboots, which means I have to type
it again and again.

I'm not quite sure how to trigger this, the window does show many other
command, even those I haven't used in ages. One of those is " firefox -P
profile --no-remote", which apparently does not trigger the same bug in
unity.

If there is anything I can do to help clear this up, please let me know.

[Bug 792359] Re: gdu-notification-daemon crashed with SIGABRT in __libc_start_main()

2011-06-16 Thread Pascal Hartig
I have never seen this crash again since that one time. I suppose it was
a race condition between two instances of the daemon running
simultaneously.

It might be safe to close this issue as it appears to only happen if a
gnome session/Xorg crash occurs prior to this.

[Bug 769927] Re: Kernel Oops : Dentry still in use (1) [unmount of nfs4 0:1d]

2011-06-16 Thread Jens Langner
I can support that observation. It doesn't matter if you put heavy load
on the nfs mounts. All that matters is that the nfs mounts are mounted
via autofs and that you have a timeout to get the system automatically
unmounting the shares. That's where the crash happens actually. Here I
have in fact increased the timeout to 3600 seconds and the problem
improves because the automounter is not frequently unmounting the share
again. Indeed I have moved some of our automounted shares to use
/etc/fstab instead and have them permanently mounted. Since then the
crashes are very very rare and just happens for our /net/HOST shares.
Please also note that it doesn't matter if the share is an nfs3 or nfs4
mount. All that is required is to have autofs mounting the NFS share and
having it automatically unmounting it.

[Bug 798047] [NEW] Two finger scrolling and right-clicking stops working when the "Synaptics Area" property is set.

2011-06-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

On the Macbook Air 11", the clickpad has a resolution of 1280x800. Using the
xinput command I can disable to bottom quarter for dedicated use as a button:
  xinput set-prop bcm5974 "Synaptics Area" 0 0 0 600
This works and touches in the bottom quarter are ignored.

However with the above setting, two-finger scrolling and two-finger
right-clicking stops working completely. Even when both fingers are in
the active area (top 3 quarters).

This bug only seems to occur when I mask out the bottom of the
"Synaptics Area". Masking out the left, top or right does not trigger
the bug and multi-touch continues to work.

Going back to default settings makes two-finger scrolling and clicking work
again:
  xinput set-prop bcm5974 "Synaptics Area" 0 0 0 0

[Bug 798049] [NEW] nvidia-current needs to be migrated to per-architecture gl_conf alternative

2011-06-16 Thread Anders Kaseorg
Public bug reported:

>From the mesa changelog:

mesa (7.10.3-0ubuntu1) oneiric; urgency=low
…
  * Merge multiarch support branch:
- Declare Breaks: against old versions of xserver-xorg-core and
libgl1-mesa-glx that will look for DRI modules only in /usr/lib/dri.
- Fix up the maintainer scripts to transition to per-architecture
  alternatives for ld.so configs.
- Declare Breaks: against nvidia-current, nvidia-173, and fglrx due to the
migration of alternatives for the ld.so.conf snippets.
- Use multiarch dirs for our dri module search path, with a fallback to
  /usr/lib/dri.
- Use the right path for dh_shlibdeps.

Hence libgl1-mesa-glx 7.10.3-0ubuntu1 Breaks: nvidia-current (<=
270.41.19-0ubuntu1). But since then, a new nvidia-current
275.09.07-0ubuntu1 was released that has not actually been migrated to
the new per-architecture alternatives. That makes it impossible now to
use mesa’s libGL while nvidia-current is installed.

nvidia-current needs to be migrated, and the Breaks: version needs to be
updated in libgl1-mesa-glx.

[Bug 783389] Re: HP LaserJet 1000/1005/1018/1020/P1005/P1006/... (on USB) stopped working in 11.04, worked in 10.04

2011-06-16 Thread Till Kamppeter
Hendy Irawan, this must be an independnet bug. If you have a second
printer, try setting it up on the machine where you have set up your
LaserJet and check whether it gets shared to your second computer
correctly. My LaserJet 1020 gets shared correctly. Report a separate bug
on this. Attach the /etc/cups/cupsd.conf files of both client and server
and the /etc/cups/printers.conf file of the server to that bug. Attach
the files separately and uncompressed. Thanks.

2011-06-16 Thread Patrick Pfeifer
I made this modifications to my psmouse dkms module and it works nicely
for me. It gives me a right-click when i click on the lower right region
of the "Elantech ETF1059 Click-Pad" as well as even a middle-click when
i click exactly ON the vertical dividing mark in the middle of the lower
region of the touchpad.

The top-right-middle-click-tapping-region is a bit too small and hard to
hit, probably because the touchpad has rounded edges.)

my p.x values range from 0 (left) to 1467 (right) and the p.y values
range from 0 (top) to 815 (bottom)

http://paste.ubuntu.com/627816/

It might be nice to have two-finger tap-drag mapped to middle-click-drag
(for alt-middle-click-window-resizing or nautilus drag-n-ask-when-drop)
... has anybody got an idea how this could be achieved ?

I realize that there is quiet a difference between the p.y > 700 test
i'm using and the calculated p.y == 628 position of the horizontal line
of the touchpad. All I can say is that 700 works quiet well for me. (My
index finger, in the middle of the "phalanx distalis" has a maximum
width of around 18mm :)

[Bug 797764] Re: Document Viewer doesn't respect "Ubuntu Classic (no effects)"

2011-06-16 Thread Marcel Stimberg
Thank you for your bug report and taking the time to make Ubuntu better. The
choice of "Ubuntu Classic (no effects)" has nothing to do with the overlay
scrollbars -- all applications that use them under Unity will use them under
Ubuntu Classic as well. Firefox and LibreOffice writer never use them (yet), so
running Unity you would not see them as well.
To remove the new scrollbars from all applications, you can remove the
overlay-scrollbar package.

[Bug 798007] Re: [Oneiric] Latest mesa (7.10.3) breaks 3D with nvidia-current

2011-06-16 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Aaah, I see Alberto made a sneaky nvidia-current upload last night
without applying my multiarching patch. I'll update the Breaks to be
unversioned, and we can version them once we have fixed proprietary
driver packages.

[Bug 745942] Re: Icons not displayed for paid apps with a . in their package name

2011-06-16 Thread Michael Vogt
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: software-center

Icons are not displayed for the gstreamer Fluendo codecs for sale in the
Software Center. MVO was kind enough to investigate and figured out it
is a bug in Software Center relating to packages with a "." in their
  name.
+
+ TEST CASE:
+ - use maverick software-center and check fluendo codecs
+ - verify that there is no icon (only the stock icon) for that
+ - install software-center from maverick-proposed
+ - reopen software-center
+ - verify that fluendo codecs has a icon now

[Bug 792692] Re: Totem don't play MIDI files a second time

2011-06-16 Thread Brendan Donegan
Hi,

Would you be able to check if this works in the latest release of Ubuntu
(11.04)? When I checked it there the behaviour was still wrong, but not
as you described. What I found was that when playing any MIDI file the
counter would keep going even after the end of the clip. The controls do
not indicate that the playback has stopped (still a pause button there).
Moving the slider back to beginning of the track makes it start playing
for there again.

[Bug 781795] Re: Initially missing /var/lib/logrotate/status file

I can confirm this problem.
This is especially annoying when you're deploying systems and every single one
of the sends the same error-mail after the first logrotate run.
Should be an easy fix.

I hope this change of summary is not confusing:
Of course only windows from the current workspace are shown in the current
workspace, the problem is the representation in the LAUNCHER.

IS this really included in the new summary? Shouldn't it be changed

[Bug 798064] [NEW] kde crash on startup

2011-06-16 Thread Šarūnas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

kde crashed just after startup (after a login screen) - no ui was
present, just a few windows w/o titlebars (soundmanager and password for
kwallet). also yaquake was started up so init scripts ran.

the backtrace I managed to save to file from drkonqi:

[Bug 798063] [NEW] 1.6.11+dfsg-2 requires manual bootstrap for build

2011-06-16 Thread James Page
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: aspectj

aspectj self-depends on libaspectj-java; this will require a manual
build using the .deb from Debian sid.

I've tested this locally in a clean oneiric sbuild chroot environment +
libaspectj-java_1.6.11+dfsg-2_all.deb and it builds sucessfully
