[Bug 410636] Re: Right-click should not pre-light first option, too easy to accidentally select the first Context-menu option.
I had similar symptoms to the ones mentioned above. A single click worked like two very quick single clicks (and not a double click). This was of course not showing up on my other Linux Laptop or when used with any other OS. In the end it turned out to be because of having both an external USB mouse and my laptop touchpad enabled simultaneously. When I used my laptop's "Fn+Disable Touchpad" key to disable touchpad, the issue goes away and i can use the USB mouse ok. I wonder if some of you folks were facing the same issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410636 Title: Right-click should not pre-light first option, too easy to accidentally select the first Context-menu option. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 790469] Re: invalid security certificate 11.10
The upstream bug is a different issue (the reporters clock was wrong). This is just happening here because the certificate for testpilot.mozillalabs.com is issued by a CA with no chain of trust to one of the roots in NSS. The issuers root is already included in newer NSS versions (it's fixed on Aurora and mozilla-central already). I'd rather not do an upload just to disable testpilot (note that we disable it automatically when we switch to the release channel anyway). [Bug 791074] [NEW] blur plugin messes up window shadows
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Hello! On Natty, if both “Window decorations” and “Blur” plugins are enabled, and the settings for blur include “Alpha blur”, the windows where alpha blur applies have messed up shadows. (I use “normal” as the window filter for alpha blur; examples of transparent areas are the gnome terminal in some profiles, and unfocused window title bars, and some popups.) First of all, the shadowed areas are also blured, which I believe to be wrong behavior. (Only translucent part of “logical” windows should be blured, not effects like shadow.) Second, the shadow becomes “messy”: it’s a dynamic bug, the exact effects vary when moving windows around, including darkening or lightening of the shadow, and various lines and areas of varying opacity. I’m including a screenshot with an example. (CCSM shows “/usr/bin/compiz-decorator” as the “Command” in the window decorations plugin, by the way.) [Bug 762918] Re: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity
FWIW: Sean Fenton's advice about disabling sync_to_vblank in gconf- editor seems to have done the trick: I just left my laptop on overnight with Transmission running (which was a recipe to activate the bug) and it came back no problem. The key location is: /apps/compiz-1/plugins/opengl/screen0/options/sync_to_vblank (since there are a couple of keys with the same name). I still fervently hope that this bug gets fixed soon, however. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762918 Title: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 791082] [NEW] Battery monitor doesn't show level on new ThinkPad model
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager On a ThinkPad X220, the battery monitor usually fails to report the battery level after unplugging. Though the time remaining is reported, the meter shows with a red outline, as if it's completely out of power. People should be aware that cache=writeback should only be used if you do not care about the very real possibility of guest disk corruption should the guest or host fail unexpectedly. [Bug 378240] Re: Please merge xen 4.0.1-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)
For anyone that's interested I've packaged Xen 4.1.0 and 4.0.1 for Ubuntu. So far I've only released on 10.04 but I hope the debs will work for other Ubunutu versions, and Debian as well. My strategy was to create a package that duplicated the Xen install without all the extra packaging done by the Ubuntu and Debian packages. I've also catered to my needs, so at the moment no SDL and no pvgrub. Still it's a lot easier than compiling Xen on every single server. You can find them here: https://launchpad.net/~agent-8131/+archive/ppa They seem to work well with the Debian 6.0 Xen kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/378240 Title: Please merge xen 4.0.1-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: LASH Audio Session Handler was abandoned upstream in favor of the new session management system, called ladish: LADI Session Handler. ladish will allow users to run many JACK applications at once and save/restore their configuration with few mouse clicks. What we need now is dropping the LASH support for all those packages able to build without it. On those packages which need to find lash's headers and development libraries to build, we just need to replace the build-dependencies on liblash-dev with liblash-compat-dev, which provides a dummy support for the old LASH layer; the programs compiled against the new liblash-compat won't be able to cooperate with the old lashd daemon anyway. ** Affects: muse (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: New ** Affects: patchage (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: New ** Affects: phasex (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: New ** Affects: zynaddsubfx (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Fix Released ** Also affects: muse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: phasex (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: patchage (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: zynaddsubfx (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: zynaddsubfx (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: phasex (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: patchage (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: muse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Description changed: - Binary package hint: zynaddsubfx - - LASH Audio Session Handler was abandoned upstream in favor of the new session management system, called ladish: LADI Session Handler. + LASH Audio Session Handler was abandoned upstream in favor of the new session management system, called ladish: LADI Session Handler. ladish will allow users to run many JACK applications at once and save/restore their configuration with few mouse clicks. Yeah, we're binding the framebuffer wrong. I had a look into this bug I'm not sure what's causing it. Maybe if we get time I can get one of our GL experts to take a look. [Bug 791055] Re: Firefox is slow
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and help make Ubuntu better. In order to get an idea of your problem, I need to get two details: 1.) Which graphics card do you have? Looks like an ATI one, but if you could open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and type 'lspci | grep VGA' then that will tell the exact model. 2.) How is it slow? Is it slow loading pages or is it that when you move the mouse around in the Firefox window it stutters around? ** Summary changed: - slow + Firefox is slow ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/791055 Title: Firefox is slow -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 762987] Re: RT2870 WLAN Stick (D-Link DWA 140) not working, wrong modules loaded
It is a misconception that rt2800usb is the wrong module. It is the right module. It is just not the only module on your system that says that it can drive hardware with this ID (which consists of vendor plus device id). >From http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/WLAN/Karten/D-Link I see that there are two likely device IDs for this device. One is based on RT2870 and one on RT3070 according to that list. lsusb will give the vendor and device ID for this stick. Please post this ID. From the staging driver loaded I assume it will be 07d1: 3c09 (RT2870 based). Historically, the staging driver might have been necessary for this device, but I think it should now work with the preferred (in-kernel, non-staging) rt2800usb. from the source[1]: 126 config RT2800USB 127 tristate "Ralink rt27xx/rt28xx/rt30xx (USB) support" [..] 135 ---help--- 136 This adds support for rt27xx/rt28xx/rt30xx wireless chipset family. 137 Supported chips: RT2770, RT2870 & RT3070, RT3071 & RT3072 138 139 When compiled as a module, this driver will be called "rt2800usb.ko". As Gustav wrote there might be a conflict between the two available drivers. Could you please blacklist (or even rename the module to something like rt2870sta.ko.disable) rt2870sta and then shut down and boot (not just restart) and try again with the rt2800usb? If it doesn't work we should try and get to the root cause of this so that it will work for everyone out of the box in oneiric.
