[Bug 671814] Re: [IDT 92HD88B1] internal microphone didnt work

2011-01-03 Thread David Henningsson
> Sure but there is some strange noise when i record tracs using
internal mic. Is it possible to fix them?

Difficult to know. Try turning down the "Internal Mic" control one or
two steps and see if that helps. If it isn't, it could be a bad quality
mic, or it could be that it is an array mic to reduce noise (for which
there is currently no support in Linux, it just takes one of the mics in
that case).

> Also looks that Skype is working wrong

Don't exactly know what you mean with that, but if Skype is recording
from the wrong input, you can perhaps fix that using the "pavucontrol"
application (change input on the recording tab of pavucontrol while
Skype is recording).

[Bug 152551] Re: firefox crashes on URL www.pagesjaunes.fr

2011-01-03 Thread viktor
Confirmed on my Vaio laptop with Intel video card (Lucid 32). Not
reproducible on my Desktop with Nvidia graphics card (Lucid 64).

A good work around is to no longer visit the over-bloated pagesjaunes.fr
since there are a lot of comparable services out there (annu.com,
118712.fr...);

[Bug 568275] Re: No JS in 0.12.0~svn2018-6ubuntu2

2011-01-03 Thread MikeN
There are three options, surely? Use the mediatomb build flags to
produce a static build, that way it won't break each time xulrunner
changes. True, it means it is using out of date code but at least it
doesn't have to be rebuilt each time.

[Bug 696714] [NEW] Kile crashes on saving settings

2011-01-03 Thread sergeprokofiev
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kile

Kile crashes whenever I change and save any setting. But the setting
itself (any) is saved when I load Kile again. This behaviour observed
since Ubuntu 10.04 and Kile 2.1 b4. Currently running Ubuntu 10.10.
Removing Kile completely and reinstalling didn't help...

[Bug 325700] Re: apt-key has unannounced dependency on wget

2011-01-03 Thread Hurl
Is there a plan to fix this bug ?
On JeOS systems (built with vmbuilder), ubuntu-standard is not installed by
default, which is normal. And ubuntu-standard is the package providing wget, on
classic installs.
So Ubuntu minimal images for virtualization is not so "clean" with lucid, as
the apt cronjob daily outputs an error.

John's suggestions are good but maybe a simpler test in the cronjob script may
be done before running the apt-key net-update command ?
But this involve modifying a file from the "main" apt package, for a specific
ubuntu run case...
Regards

[Bug 631857] Re: Conditional Formatting does not work in OOo 3.2.1 (10.10)

2011-01-03 Thread Wolf Rogner
1. Yes it is reproducable (I would not file a bug otherwise)
2. Steps to reproduce:
a create a fresh spread sheet
b mark A1:A3
c select Format/Conditional Formatting ...
d Condition 1 (tagged): Cell value equal to "A" (enter A)
e create new style under Cell Style, make background green
f tag Condition 2
g Enter B in Cell value field (Cell value equal to "B")
h create new Cell Style, background to yellow
You can give the new styles different names.
You can proceed with a third condition

All fields were empty but they are marked green now
So: Cell A1 = empty <> "A" and its background is green

Enter A in A1
Cell A1 = "A" and its background is white (should be green)

Enter B in A2
Cell A2 = "B" and its background is white (should be yellow)

Enter C in A3
Cell A3 = "C" and its background is white (correkt)

All above results could be expected according to the online help

Variations:
Create conditional formatting for individual cells: same error
Create named styles: same error
Attack predefined styles : same error

Can I attach an example?
Unfortunately no. I manually formatted columns to get my results.
One can simple reproduce this by following above procedures.

Hope this helps.

[Bug 693157] Re: New bug fix releases: 8.4.6, 8.3.13, 8.1.23

2011-01-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package postgresql-8.1 - 8.1.23-0ubuntu0.6.06

---
postgresql-8.1 (8.1.23-0ubuntu0.6.06) dapper-proposed; urgency=low

  * New upstream bug fix release (LP: #693157):
- Force the default wal_sync_method to be fdatasync on Linux.
The default on Linux has actually been fdatasync for many years,
but recent kernel changes caused PostgreSQL to choose open_datasync
instead. This choice did not result in any performance improvement,
and caused outright failures on certain filesystems, notably ext4
  with the data=journal mount option.
- Fix recovery from base backup when the starting checkpoint WAL
record is not in the same WAL segment as its redo point.
- Add support for detecting register-stack overrun on IA64.
The IA64 architecture has two hardware stacks. Full prevention of
  stack-overrun failures requires checking both.
- Add a check for stack overflow in copyObject().
Certain code paths could crash due to stack overflow given a
  sufficiently complex query.
- Fix detection of page splits in temporary GiST indexes.
It is possible to have a "concurrent" page split in a temporary
index, if for example there is an open cursor scanning the index
when an insertion is done. GiST failed to detect this case and
hence could deliver wrong results when execution of the cursor
  continued.
- Avoid memory leakage while "ANALYZE"'ing complex index expressions.
- Ensure an index that uses a whole-row Var still depends on its
  table.
An index declared like create index i on t (foo(t.-)) would not
automatically get dropped when its table was dropped.
- Do not "inline" a SQL function with multiple OUT parameters.
This avoids a possible crash due to loss of information about the
  expected result rowtype.
- Fix constant-folding of COALESCE() expressions.
The planner would sometimes attempt to evaluate sub-expressions
that in fact could never be reached, possibly leading to unexpected
  errors.
- Add print functionality for InhRelation nodes.
This avoids a failure when debug_print_parse is enabled and certain
  types of query are executed.
- Fix incorrect calculation of distance from a point to a horizontal
  line segment.
This bug affected several different geometric distance-measurement
  operators.
- Fix PL/pgSQL's handling of "simple" expressions to not fail in
  recursion or error-recovery cases.
- Fix bug in "contrib/cube"'s GiST picksplit algorithm.
This could result in considerable inefficiency, though not actually
incorrect answers, in a GiST index on a cube column. If you have
such an index, consider "REINDEX"ing it after installing this
  update.
- Don't emit "identifier will be truncated" notices in
"contrib/dblink" except when creating new connections.
- Fix potential coredump on missing public key in "contrib/pgcrypto".
- Fix memory leak in "contrib/xml2"'s XPath query functions.

- Fix postmaster crash when connection acceptance (accept() or one of

advance, but work_mem was large enough to allow them all to be held
in memory, were unexpectedly slow. percent_rank(), cume_dist() and
ntile() in particular were subject to this problem.
- Behave correctly if ORDER BY, LIMIT, FOR UPDATE, or WITH is
attached to the VALUES part of INSERT ... VALUES.
- Fix constant-folding of COALESCE() expressions.
The planner would sometimes attempt to evaluate sub-expressions
that in fact could never be reached, possibly leading to unexpected
  errors.
- Fix postmaster crash when connection acceptance (accept() or one of
the calls made immediately after it) fails, and the postmaster was
  compiled with GSSAPI support.
- Fix missed unlink of temporary files when log_temp_files is active.
If an error occurred while attempting to emit the log message, the
unlink was not done, resulting in accumulation of temp files.
- Add print functionality for InhRelation nodes.
This avoids a failure when debug_print_parse is enabled and certain
  types of query are executed.
- Fix incorrect calculation of distance from a point to a horizontal
  line segment.
This bug affected several different geometric distance-measurement
  operators.
- Fix incorrect calculation of transaction status in ecpg.
- Fix PL/pgSQL's handling of "simple" expressions to not fail in
  recursion or error-recovery cases.
- Fix PL/Python's handling of set-returning functions.
Attempts to call SPI functions within the iterator generating a set
  result would fail.

[Bug 693157] Re: New bug fix releases: 8.4.6, 8.3.13, 8.1.23

2011-01-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package postgresql-8.4 - 8.4.6-0ubuntu10.04

---
postgresql-8.4 (8.4.6-0ubuntu10.04) lucid-proposed; urgency=low

  * New upstream bug fix release: (LP: #693157)
- Force the default wal_sync_method to be fdatasync on Linux.
The default on Linux has actually been fdatasync for many years,
but recent kernel changes caused PostgreSQL to choose open_datasync
instead. This choice did not result in any performance improvement,
and caused outright failures on certain filesystems, notably ext4
  with the data=journal mount option.
- Fix assorted bugs in WAL replay logic for GIN indexes.
This could result in "bad buffer id: 0" failures or corruption of
  index contents during replication.
- Fix recovery from base backup when the starting checkpoint WAL
record is not in the same WAL segment as its redo point.
- Fix persistent slowdown of autovacuum workers when multiple workers
remain active for a long time.
The effective vacuum_cost_limit for an autovacuum worker could drop
to nearly zero if it processed enough tables, causing it to run
  extremely slowly.
GiST failed to detect this case and
hence could deliver wrong results when execution of the cursor
  continued.
- Fix error checking during early connection processing.
The check for too many child processes was skipped in some cases,
possibly leading to postmaster crash when attempting to add the new
  child process to fixed-size arrays.
- Improve efficiency of window functions.
Certain cases where a large number of tuples needed to be read in
advance, but work_mem was large enough to allow them all to be held
in memory, were unexpectedly slow. percent_rank(), cume_dist() and

[Bug 696721] [NEW] i18n string typo in item 98/460 :"Parse legacy config in same context taking onl entries"

Public bug reported:

98 of 460 results

string reads: "Parse legacy config in same context taking onl entries"
I believe "onl" should be "only".

Also, another entry mentions "taking only menu entries". I think the best fix
would be :

"Parse legacy config in same context taking only menu entries"

Hi all,

I tried the new package located here:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/i386/vpnc/0.5.3r449-2.1

Still working. After 25 minutes. Seems to be correct.

Thanks to all,

[Bug 689120] Re: after dist-upgrade to maverick stellarium has no toolbar icons

2011-01-03 Thread MaxNegro
The workaround proposed in forum (starting with --safe-mode) solves the
problem for me. Starting without that switch and adding
use_qpaintenginegl2 = false in section [main] of
~/.stellarium/config.ini does the trick, too.

[Bug 695012] Re: Kernel 2.6.32-27 49 won't restart/shutdown under XenServer

2011-01-03 Thread Horst Platz
** Description changed:

  System: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
  Package: linux-image-2.6.32-27-virtual

The servers are running as guests under XenServer 5.6 (with update 1,2 and 4).
After installation of the new kernel, my ubuntu guests won't reboot or
restart as they did with the older kernels.
Using the previous kernel(linux-image-2.6.32-24-virtual) it works at it
should.

The console only states on reboot:
  "* Will now restart
  Restarting system."

  and on shutdown
  "System halted."

  After this nothing happens.

To reboot/shutdown I have to make a forced reboot/shutdown from the
  XenCenter(the XenServer management tool).

If there are any information missing to this bug report, please let me
known and I will try to supply them.

[Bug 696445] Re: gwibber stopped talking to identi.ca

2011-01-03 Thread Marius Gedminas
Looks like identi.ca is using a new certificate, issued by Comodo on
2011-01-01.

What's the right thing to do here, to solve this for everyone, and not
just me? File a bug against ca-certificates, asking for them to include
Comodo's CA cert?

2011-01-03 Thread zorblek
I've just learned that my DVD drive has been dying, so some of my problems
may be related to that. I think I only tested the DVD in Windows. I don't
have access to the computer right now, but I'll try to test it again soon.

[Bug 513273] Re: kvm with -vga std is broken since karmic

2011-01-03 Thread Theo Nolte
Building vgabios from source as described above added the missing modes
for me too. But still the vga driver does not work properly - it builds
the screen very slowly line by line and takes 20 seconds or more just
for the login-screen.

After some hours I gave up on vga and switched to the vmware-driver -
now everything works great.

[Bug 696734] [NEW] Auto-completion reacts too automatically (resulting in things like "firefoxrefox")

2011-01-03 Thread Don Cristóbal
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4-utils

When I hit Alt-F2 and type one of my recently used commands (e.g. "firefox"),
the auto completion mechanism reacts too quickly and I get something like
"firefoxrefox" instead: after the first 1-2 characters, it recognises the
command and completes it - while I'm still typing. That's not what I'd expect.

Correct behaviour should be something like this: Suggest possible commands in a
dropdown list, but don't auto-complete them automatically. Wait for the tab or
cursor down keys to select an entry. Just like the address bar of firefox for
instance.

I've also reported this upstream in the Xfce Bugzilla

[Bug 696546] Re: Crypic error comment

2011-01-03 Thread Robert Roth
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.
There is also a vibrant support community available at

If somebody wants a complete log set - I'll upload it per your request.
I feel that this error is somehow related to the ACPI - especially as it
happens more often as I try to standby the system, or return from a
standby.

Does this also happen, after you restart compiz ('compiz --replace' from
a terminal)? If not, then it's probably bug 690461.

[Bug 689887] Re: armel ICE gcc 4.5

2011-01-03 Thread Jani Monoses
Here is a small program based on the traverso code, that exhibits the
error when built with -O2

gcc (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-1ubuntu2) 4.5.2

internal compiler error: in get_arm_condition_code, at
config/arm/arm.c:16985

any of these changes leads to successful build
 - using long instead of 'long long'
 - not using the shift operator
 - not wrapping in a loop

#include

void sample_move_d32u24_sS (char *dst, char *src, unsigned long nsamples,
unsigned long dst_skip)

{
long long y;

while (nsamples--) {
y = (long long)(*src) << 8;
if (y < INT_MIN) {
*((int *) dst) = INT_MIN;
} else {
*((int *) dst) = (int)y;
}
}
}

could anyone else also confirm if the issue has been fixed with the udev

Why doesn't terminal auto-complete recognise the process name, when
"killall telepathy-butterfly" works?

I notice it's the only telepathy-* that's written in Python.
