[Bug 672171] Re: Can't click checkboxes in plugins section

2010-11-18 Thread Pedro L.
I confirm the same behavior for netbeans 6.9 with Ubuntu 10.04. Also,
I'm not able to uninstall CVS, Subversion or Mercurial plugins because
uninstall option is not available. And if I try to deactivate any of
these plugins, the IDE restart required resets the option and maintain
it active.

[Bug 625670] Re: Not all desktop items are themed

2010-11-18 Thread Stephane Epardaud
Looks like we're all using amd64 and SSD. Maybe also ext4? Could this be
related to this bug:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/317781 (this
was about losing files, but it's also about differences between ext3 and
ext4, perhaps the combination of ext4 and SSD make gnome-settings-daemon
startup too fast?)

[Bug 676859] [NEW] [ati radeon xpress 200M] vertical color lines on start-up

2010-11-18 Thread andreas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

Since this occurs on my parents' laptop, I cannot run commands from
here. I'll try to do that later.

This happens on a vostro 1000 with ati radeon xpress 200M integrated
graphics. I removed proprietary fglrx driver following instruction on
Ubuntu community pages. Doing this, made bug #498586 dissappear, but
another one appear.

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using
Ubuntu 10.10 86_64

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename'
or by checking in Synaptic.
most recent

3) What you expected to happen
normal boot

4) What happened instead
when the system starts, a blinking cursor appears after which the login screen
should appear. Instead, vertical color pixel lines appear all over the screen.
This also happens while changing user in a running system.

5) Temporary 'workaround'
Closing the lid of the laptop and re-opening it makes the lines dissappear and
login screen shows up. This doesn't work when changing user in a running
system, forced shut-down and reboot is neccessary.

[Bug 415353] Re: karmic/lucid installation slow on "detecting network hardware" with bnx2x

2010-11-18 Thread Mattias Wadenstein
It is from a real system originally installed from the netboot
installer.

Also, it does eventually manage to load it, but it takes quite a while.
I don't really know why that is.

I'll try to get a look at the current lucid netboot images too, but
that's slightly more tricky since I've run out of uninstalled blades in
my bladecenter now. But a couple of them aren't quite in production yet,
so maybe I'll manage to boot one of those. :)

[Bug 632620] Re: laptop and sound become inactive after a few seconds of inactiviti

2010-11-18 Thread Billy
You probably need to update your BIOS to V 1.11c.
V 1.10c has a bug with Penryn CPU.

http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/com/support/downloads.html

BIOS V. 1.11c:
Solved problems:
- Update ?-code 10676-60C for Intel ? Core 2 Duo Penryn processors to prevent
bluescreens or other unexpected malfunctions (with e.g. Internet Explorer).
- Add Mobile 965 Chipset RCOM Erratum Communication.
- Add ICH8M SATA Gen1 Initialization / LPM Erratum

[Bug 415353] Re: karmic/lucid installation slow on "detecting network hardware" with bnx2x

2010-11-18 Thread Stefan Bader
Ah, that at least changes some of the assumptions (and places to look
for). Cause the error message clearly say the bnx2x module gets loaded,
then the kernel tries to load libcrc32c as well (because then bnx2x
module uses a function from that) but fails. Assuming you used the
netboot installer, I looked in its initrd and saw that module. But maybe
there is something wrong on the installed system. Could you try a:

gunzip -c /boot/initrd.img-$(uname -r)|cpio -t|egrep 'bnx2x|libcrc32'

I am wondering whether the initramfs contains only the bnx2x module but
not the libcrc32c one. And whether the network driver tries to
initialize before the real root fs is mounted. But if both modules are
missing, that would be a false lead. At least the boot seems to
serialize on that module being loadable. Just not sure yet why.

available on this agent at this OID:

[Bug 676878] [NEW] slow internet INtel Pro Wireless 3945abg

2010-11-18 Thread Swedski
Public bug reported:

Hello
I have a SOny Vaio wireless card Intel Pro 3945abg.
My set-up is as follows
Part 1 Windows 7
Part 2 Ubuntu 10.10
Part 3 NTFS for files I use in either OS

In Windows my wireless speed is 20MB
In Ubuntu my speed is 2mb (with 10.04 I had 10-12mb speed)
from the same location

I have tried to install NDISwrapper which reconizes my card but then the
wireless card does not activate. (I have had to re-install 10.10 to get
the wireless working again)

Is there any fix that will not wipe out my wireless network card? And let me
surf at a reaonable speed like before?
Thanks

[Bug 676876] [NEW] RhythmBox does not send TrackChanged signal on DBus.

2010-11-18 Thread moma
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Hello,
I have a GTK-application that will make use of messages that RhythmBox sends to
DBus. But when I select/click the _same song_ twise, RhythmBox does not send
"TrackChanged" signal to the DBus. It only sends "Status Changed" signal with
status PLAYING (from time time 0).

When selecting a new song, or when clicking the same song once again ,
RhythmBox should first send "TrackChanged" signal, then "Status Changed"
signal.

When clicking the same song twise,
external programs must now implement some weird logic to understand if the song
simply stopped then continuing or if the song re-started from 0.

I have some prototyping/test code attached here below.
Compile it by running (install dbus dependencies first)

$ ./dbus_player

[Bug 175233] Re: Evolution hangs with "Formatting Message" after several hours

2010-11-18 Thread Seb
Hi,
i've been experiencing the same issues this a week or two.
I'm using Ub 10.04 since May 2010.
Evolution 2.28.3
3 imap accounts, and 2 pop.
Disabling "default sources" didn't solved the problem.
I though about the large amount of emails i had, so did some clean up.
Unsuccessful.
Then disabled the portrait thing in the header (Preferences -> Email
preferences -> Headers -> disable portrait (or photograph, i don't know the
english term as i use a french version)). This seem to do the trick, no more
hangings for some times

[Bug 154271] Re: xenU sending too big packets

2010-11-18 Thread Petri Lehtinen
Actually, on xenU, issuing the commands

ethtool -K eth0 tx off
ethtool -K eth0 tx on

fixes the problem too, so changing the tx offloading back to on doesn't
break it again.

And the real problem here is that xenU keeps sending big packets even
though it gets the fragmentation needed info. I don't have a tcpdump to
copy-paste at hand right now, but for me it looked like this:

xenU > target: length 2948
firewall > xenU: ICMP fragmentatinon needed
xenU > destination: length 1480
target > xenU: ACK
xenU > target: length 2948
firewall > xenU: ICMP fragmentatinon needed

So xenU is sending too big packets over and over again, and firewall has
to ask it to fragment them each time. And this hurts performance REALLY
hard.

[Bug 369498] Re: 32bits gtk and glib modules not found in ia32-libs

2010-11-18 Thread Kane Zhu
I also see similar problem on Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit.

I launch my gtk application from NFS mount point, then click the
'Browser' button of my application to open directory picker.

Then got below errors,

/usr/lib/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume-monitor.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume-monitor.so
/usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so
/usr/lib/gio/modules/libgiogconf.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgiogconf.so

I have installed ia32-libs, and update it to latest.
I think it's caused by 32bit libgvfscommon doesn't exist that is required by
libgioremote-volume-monitor.so.

ldd /usr/lib32/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume-monitor.so
linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xf77b2000)
libgvfscommon.so.0 => not found
libdbus-1.so.3 => /lib32/libdbus-1.so.3 (0xf774b000)

Hope to reopen this one to get that fixing.

[Bug 619841] Re: [REGRESSION] e1000e doesnt work on 2.6.35.

2010-11-18 Thread Rabie van der Merwe
I have tested using linux-image-2.6.36-020636-generic and can confirm that the
network cards works, reverting back to 2.6.35 and the network may work for one
reboot but not a cold boot (as the registers have been set by the 2.6.36 kernel)
This could be used as a work around however I have another application that
fails to compile a kernel module against 2.6.36 so I am stuck.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the
current Ubuntu stable release(maverick ubuntu 10.10), this would help us
a lot.
