[Bug 360474] Re: No ASS/SSA effect with Avidemux 2.4.4 - Kubuntu 9.04
Not sure if it helps, but hopefully it will... I'm having this same problem. Running hardy heron and using a fresh install of the currently available Avidemux copy obtained from an everyday apt-get install. Here's the exact steps to recreate the error: 1) Open your video 2) In the video sidebar select XviD, configure your options, like bitrate or quality, etc.. 3) In the video sidebar press "filters" => subtitles => ASS . 4) After the .ass is added, you can preview but will notice that no subtitles are visible. Then, when hitting Configure to verify the settings are correct and hitting OK, you'll get something like: SSA Error Cannot read_file for */home/USER/Desktop/FILE.ass* I've verified the file isn't messed up, and all the permissions are correct. After digging around for awhile, I found that there as a similar issue for windows users a couple years ago. Apparently the cause of the issue in that one, which seems to be from a Avidemux configuration file that tells it where to find the fonts to use for this filter, was resolved for them. This might be caused by a similar issue, but its just a guess. Hoping someone can find a solution. :) If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to email. [Bug 90376] Re: Firefox https broken in some cases
I experience the same problem using Firefox 3.0.14 + Shiretoko FF 3.5.3 on (k)ubuntu 9.04: some sites using SSL cannot be used. e.g. I cannot download the jdk docs from cds.sun.com site (https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_Developer-Site/en_US/-/USD/viewproductdetail-start?productref=jdk-6u10-docs-oth-...@cds-cds_developer) (The status bar reports "waiting for cds.sun.com..." forever) This problem has troubled me since the introduction of FF3 on the linux platform. I would have asked for help earlier, but this very page also displays "Saving..." forever when reporting a problem using FF. And even Konqueror reports the following: "Error The following errors were encountered: 400 Bad Request Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8g Server at wildcard.launchpad.net Port 443" I could download the jdk document on the sun site using Konquerer on the same PC, but not with the Epiphany browser. I was also able to download it with FF 3...@windows XP on another PC. I find a CopyDrop file is at openjdk-6-jre-lib: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/images/cursors/motif_CopyDrop32x32.gif with same path in sun-java6-jre. The software run to produce this error is available at http://www.sweethome3d.eu/download.jsp I created a JAr from the source. You can also use the pre-made JAr which you can run like this: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/bin/java -jar SweetHome3D-2.1.jar I specified openjdk-6-jre-lib as the package to report a bug in to apport-cli and it changed it to openjdk-6 . [Bug 153204] Re: [MASTER] Applications are flickering/flashing in full screen mode
I recently ran into this bug with my nvidia 185.18.36 driver for my GTX 260 running an up-to-date copy of Ubuntu Karmic. while finding a workaround to enabling fullscreen Youtube videos with opera and Firefox. The fix states to uncheck the 'undirect fullscreen windows' option, which did indeed work. However this created some horribly choppy behaviour in Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory. So as a benchmark I would like to suggest it, the game itself doesn't display a loss in FPS, but you will notice objects 'jumping' when you move around the map. For the time being I've rechecked the option in compiz, which fixes the jumping in ET but I do miss my fullscreen Youtube vids. -- [MASTER] Applications are flickering/flashing in full screen mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153204 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 446421] Re: 2.6.31-12.41 hangs with Radeon KMS
We are not expecting KMS to be stable for all ATI cards in 2.6.31 and not enabling it there by default for Karmic. That said if it worked on 2.6.31-11.38 then I am supprised it does not do so on .41 as I cannot see any radeon changes in the kernel between those two versions. Can we try booting the .41 kernel without modeset enabled and without quiet to see if we get to see something prior to the panic. Also there was one tty related panic in .41 which was fixed in subsequent kernels. So does this occur with the latest available kernel .42 and later?
