Yes Michael, There is no really problem for ufw, but its dependency, iptables, is very difficult to test. I have personnaly no issue here running with it, but a larger group of people would be better as this latter has a lot of reverse dependencies, and so, potentially conflicting version… -- Please backport ufw 0.22 from intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268931 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 239597] Re: HDA Intel Record off on restart (LG P1)
I have tested my recording again via the Intrepid Alpha 5 Live CD. I burnt a disk, rebooted, ran the disk's self-check, the disk was error- free, booted using the first option into the desktop, and neither playback nor recording was working. I then went and followed the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization to customize the .iso, and modify /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base (I will include the modified version below). With the modifications, sound playback then worked on the LiveCD, but sound recording with my Internal Mic, Mic, or Line would not. When attempting to run 'arecord', it simply generates garbled text, and seems as if no audio is received into the system. Oddly enough, I can hear things being recorded, looped back through my internal and external speakers, but when attempting to record sound, and then have it played back, there is only silence, as if it's not storing the audio data in memory, to be played back. ** Attachment added: "alsa-base" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18100772/alsa-base -- HDA Intel Record off on restart (LG P1) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239597 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I confirm that this issue has nothing to do with libavg, I'm experiencing it with gst-inspect too. The sigsegv happens in fini_contex_translations function (setrans_client.c) because it free a couple of uninitialized contexts. Mike's patch doesn't seem to solve the issue here (current intrepid) though, it makes it crash on init function.. Removing __thread keywords from contexts initialization seems to do the trick but I doubt it's the right fix. [Bug 273021] Re: Intrepid: KM2530DL Printing Errors
OK - I ran a couple of test prints from Intrepid and it is certainly much better :-) If, however I try to print the same contents (select pages 1-2 in the print dialogue) of the Firefox browser from the URL I posted in the original report, I do not get any errors on the printer, it does not create a first blank page, but, the second page is still corrupted with the "wrapped text" issue. I also printed a couple of pages of a manual from Envince twice. The first time round the print output itself was fine, but I think I got an extra blank page so I tried again. The second time it wouldn't print at all - an error dialogue popped up saying (IIRC) "Failed to Print: Too many printing errors" or something similar. Printing the same pages from within Adobe Acrobat Reader was perfectly fine however. So, my conclusion is that it seems a great deal improved from the last time I tried but I am not sure if it is completely fixed - or if the remaining problems are more to do with the content or rendering applications. The URL test especially; as the printed output has exactly the same errors as in my original post I wonder if there is a bug in Firefox or something... I have attached the output of printingbuginfo. Thanks for looking into this and I hope all this is of some help. ** Attachment added: "Printingbuginfo output" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18101191/printingbuginfo -- Intrepid: KM2530DL Printing Errors https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 276654] [NEW] cpu speed doesn't adjust to cpu power management when ac-power is plugged in or plugged out
Public bug reported: When I connect the ac power in my laptop (sony vaio vgn fs415M and Hardy x86) my cpu speed doesn't adjust to cpu power management settings (power management preferences -> on ac power -> computer speed policy -> always maximum speed), that is to maximum speed but still remains to "based on processor load" as it shouldn't have ac-power plugged in (but the battery icon in the status bar changed indicating that is in charging state, so the ac-power was detected). However if I reboot the system with ac-power plugged-in the cpu is at correct speed (that is at maximum speed). I see cpu speed with "cpu frequency scaling monitor" applet (version 2.22.2) or with "cat /proc/acpuinfo" The same thing happens if I am in the contrary situation (that is I start with ac-power plugged in and then I plugged out ac-power and my cpu freq is always at maximum speed). I say first that I enabled "computer speed policy" option in power management preferences via gconf-editor as the gui hasn't this option from default (I think this is a thing to fix in next distros as well as in Hardy) Linux kernel "Linux cheope 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Aug 20 22:56:21 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux" ** Affects: acpi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- cpu speed doesn't adjust to cpu power management when ac-power is plugged in or plugged out https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276654 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 276656] [NEW] It's possible to install to the device the installation files reside on.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: partman-base As it stands, if you create a USB disk with the desktop CD or alternate CD on it, partman will let you try to install to /dev/sda or whatever the USB disk may be.
