Yeah but at this point we really know that LED support doesn't work since nothing changed about it (i.e. it hasn't been implemented yet). [Bug 204937] Re: [hardy] kernel oops triggered by trackerd
Note to the triagers: while I can't exclude the possibility, it doesn't smell like an architecture bug to me, more like a generic bug. The quad is SMPx4 and I was doing extensive disk accesses while trackerd was running, using multiple filesystems (ext3 and xfs), so the kernel was quite "exercized" in ways that I suspect a lot of users don't, which would explain why this didnt' show up on x86. I'll torture the machine see if I can get that to happen again, and maybe find out a repro-case. -- [hardy] kernel oops triggered by trackerd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

actually the computer responded to 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' when I typed it in the terminal after receiving message 'E: dpkg was interrupted, youmust manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem'. [Bug 192407] Re: Thinkpad T61 crashes on resume from suspend
With a fresh installation of Ubuntu Hardy Beta 64bit the above mentioned problem does not occur anymore. Therefore, I conclude that this problem is restricted to the 32bit version. However, there are other minor problems with suspending in the 64bit version: After resuming mostly a white screen is displayed instead of the password prompt. However, after entering the password the desktop is correctly displayed. Only sometimes a white area in the lower right corner of the screen remains even after suspending again. The mouse pointer is shown in this area but clicking on the area where the panel applets are usually located does not cause any reaction. [Bug 206992] [NEW] SuperTuxKart doesn't remember fullscreen setting
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: supertuxkart supertuxkart: 0.4-1 SuperTuxKart doesn't remember when it's set to fullscreen upon restarting the program. Each time the game is started, it appears in windowed 800x600, where I then set it to fullscreen 1600x1200 and can enjoy the game. If I quit and then start the game again, it is back to windowed 800x600. If I start the game and first choose fullscreen, the resolution options all claim to be blacklisted. [Bug 206997] [NEW] [Hardy] kernel 2.6.24 - hibernation problem with 4GB RAM
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-12-generic Description:Ubuntu hardy (development branch) Release:8.04 Package: linux-image-2.6.24-12-generic: Installé : 2.6.24-12.22 Candidat : 2.6.24-12.22 Table de version : *** 2.6.24-12.22 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status There is a problem with hibernation where there is 4GB of RAM on my laptop. Everything works fine with 2 GB. Of course suspend to ram works like a charm with 2GB and 4GB of RAM I think it's a kernel ' specific problem, because i have the same problem on my desktop computer. In the changelog of kernel 2.6.25-rc7 at kernel.org i found this comment: commit 2050d45d7c32cbad7a070d04256237144a0920db Author: Pavel Machek <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu Mar 13 23:05:41 2008 +0100 x86: fix long standing bug with usb after hibernation with 4GB ram aperture_64.c takes a piece of memory and makes it into iommu window... but such window may not be saved by swsusp -- that leads to oops during hibernation. ALSA ISAPnP drivers set PNP_DRIVER_RES_DO_NOT_CHANAGE (0x0001) through setting PNP_DRIVER_RES_DISABLE (0x0003). The latter including the former may in itself be considered rather unexpected but doesn't change that suspend/resume wouldn't seem to have any business testing the flag. As reported by Ondrej Zary for snd-cs4236, ALSA driven ISAPnP cards don't survive swsusp hibernation with the resume skipping setting the resources due to testing the flag -- the same test in the suspend path isn't enough to keep hibernation from disabling the card it seems. These tests were added (in 2005) by Piere Ossman in commit 68094e3251a664ee1389fcf179497237cbf78331, "alsa: Improved PnP suspend support" who doesn't remember why. This deletes them. [Bug 203494] Re: gnome-power-manager does not restore brightness after idle dim (2.22.0-0ubuntu1)
I can confirm this bug on a Thinkpad T61 8889-2BG with Nvidia NVS 140 running Hardy Beta 64bit. The screen dims most of the time correctly when idle. However, brightness is not restored after movements of the mouse or pressing a key though it can be restored manually.
