Re: [Bug 125702] Re: failure to umount local filesystems - gutsy tribe 2
My fstab file contains the following when booted up: unionfs / unionfs rw 0 0 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs nosuid, nodev 0 0 My mtab file contains the following: proc /proc proc rw 0 0 sysfs /sys sysfs rw 0 0 tmpfs /lib/modules/2.6.22-8-generic/volatile tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0 varrun /var/run tmpfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,mode=0755 0 0 varlock /var/lock tmpfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,mode=1777 0 0 udev /dev tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0 devshm /dev/shm tmpfs rw 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,gid=5,mode=620 0 0 tmpfs /lib/modules/2.6.22-8-generic/volatile tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0 fusectl /sys/fs/fuse/connections fusectl rw 0 0 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs rw,nosuid, nodev 0 0 I am not getting the error 110 error at the moment, so I am not sure if you can rely upon that feedback. When booting, it definitely is telling me that it is activating a swap file. On shutdown, I get "ok" when it is deactivating the swap file. I also get "ok" when it is unmounting temporary filesystems on shutdown. On 7/21/07, Michael Panepucci <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I get the same error on Tribe3. [Bug 127326] window manager can't move window of aMSN
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amsn I can't move the window of aMSN chat program by clicking on the window bar. Bug is 100% reproducible. aMSN is not crashed though. If I click in the window of aMSN, I can use it. It's the GNOME window manager that somehow can't move the window of aMSN. As far as I know, it only happens with aMSN. When I click on the window bar, it looks as if the window loses focus. I found that I can actually move the window by pressing alt + left-click in aMSN window + move mouse to move window. Once I do that, I can then move the window also by clicking in the window bar so somehow it fixes the problem. But if I close aMSN and restart it, I then have the problem again (can't move the window other than using alt + left-click + mouse move) Steps to reproduce (simple and 100% reproducible): 1. install aMSN is not already installed: sudo apt-get install aMSN 2. start aMSN from GNOME menu bar: Applications -> Internet -> aMSN 3. aMSN window should pop up, try to move the window by clicking in the aMSN window bar 4. observe that the window won't move I'm using Ubuntu-7.04Feisty Fawn with all updates at the time of bug submission. ** Affects: amsn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- window manager can't move window of aMSN https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127326 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 49827] Re: Available resolutions incompletely set to 1024x768, 800x600, 640x480
Here's a partial workaround. I'm a newbie to Linux and am just getting used to Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. I'm using 1280x1024 LCD monitor that can't be set to this native resolution through Gnome's System/Preferences/Screen resolution and I am nowhere near ready to start fiddling with command lines. What has worked in part in my case, as I have a (fairly old but serviceable) NVidia GeForce 2 Ti4200 graphics card, is to run the downloadable NVidia driver package. I see that my monitor Brand and Model and graphics card are all correctly identified within this NVidia package. That allows me to go into the Server Settings menu, select the XServer menu then X Server Display Configuration (no idea why a screen should be called a server??) and change the resolution to the correct native setting. However the recommended refresh rate is too high and cannot be set to the recommended 70 or 75Hz. With the screen now looking as it should, if I now go back to System/Preferences/Screen Resolution I see my native resolution that was not there before is now available in the menu, but again with too high a refresh rate (85Hz) as the only option. In addition, the option to make that the default setting is ineffective. Reboot the computer and the entire rigmarole must be gone through again next time because my settings have been lost. I have tried many times... a very annoying bug to face each new bootup, even before you start to do anything at all. I have been given to understand that driving LCD screens with too high a refresh rate shortens their life, so 85Hz doesn't seem to be a great option. I'm hoping someone can help with a proper fix. [Bug 59060] Re: Invest applet renders incorrectly
I can confirm that this bug still exists in Edgy as of 2007-07-21. The non-functional color block next to the invest applet button is still there. If the color block is really meant to indicate the overall performance of your stock symbols, you should be able to disable it in the preferences, since obviously a bunch of smart programmers cannot figure out how orange, or grey, or purple (in my case) is supposed to translate into a performance rating. The following two bugs are incorrectly marked as duplicates of this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/89238 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/118398 Bugs #89238 and #118398 are in regards to being unable to remove the invest-applet from the panel, which is not a problem for me. I can remove the invest-applet from the panel by right clicking and selecting "remove from panel." In addition, the fix proposed here, installing libgnomevfs2-extra, does not appear to be causing the non-functional color block. I already have libgnomevfs2-extra installed and up-to-date, and I am still experiencing the non-functional color block. Reinstalling and reconfiguring libgnomevfs2-extra does not fix the problem. Perhaps installing libgnomevfs2-extra is meant to fix the problem with removing the applet from the panel. -- Invest applet renders incorrectly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/59060 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 125209] Re: Flash video in Epiphany doesn't die when browser is closed
Same problem here. I would add that any flash content does this for me. Browser windows disappear when closed but they are still in memory. Opening (and eventually closing) further windows leads to huge CPU and memory consumption and finally epiphany crashes. One remarkable thing is with killing epiphany. When I close all epiphany windows and then killall epiphany-browser, I see a lot of small windows appearing for a while (not enough time to even display its contents but it definately appears on screen and in tasklist). I saw a similar window once and it said something about script slowing down the computer. It may be related to compiz as well, will investigate further. [Bug 127351] MROUND-function of Calc does not work
Public bug reported: I have a problem with OpenOffice. I installed Ubuntu 7.04 and the OpenOffice that was packed with it on the same cd. In addition, the OOo help section tells this for the MROUND command: "This function is only available if Analysis AddIn is installed." Is this true?
