No, the source package in Debian Sid build-depends on
libmysqlclient15-dev, and the bitchx binary package Suggests
libmysqlclient15off. I doubt the Debian Sid source package is dead wrong

[Bug 73102] ATI Radeon AVIVO Video -> 'Blue' tv

2006-11-24 Thread oldman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libmyth-0.20

Using the latest 8.30.3 fglrx drivers, mplayer with vo xv works fine but
mythtv-frontend has blue tinge to all tv playback.

I believe the bug applies to all ATI RADEON X cards and myth needs to be
recomplied with USE_ATI_PROPRIETARY_DRIVER_XVIDEO_HACK enabled. However,
this may negatively effect other cards.

See:
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/branches/release-0-20-fixes/mythtv/libs/libmythtv/videoout_xv.cpp#L67

Also you may need to modify this function to include the Xv adaptor:
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/branches/release-0-20-fixes/mythtv/libs/libmythtv/videoout_xv.cpp#L3448

Not sure why this can't be a config setting (rather than a compile
option).

[Bug 73059] Re: Rhythmbox crashes when changing burning device

2006-11-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, we are
not able to fix and find the bug because your description of the bug
didn't have enough information in it. You may find it helpful to read
"How to report bugs effectively",
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html.
We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description
of the problem.

Debugging procedures for certain types of problems can be found at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

You probably want to describe what version of Ubuntu you use and get a
backtrace of the crash (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash)

Nothing special to do, just wait to get the crash and attach the new
crash file to the bug.

The backtrace (the functions listed by your bug) lacked details, they
will have them once that package is installed

The coredump is a binary which contains details of the crash and can be
used by the debug. Apport gives you the option to attach it to the bug
or to use a light version (what you attached to the bug apparently).

Upgrading to 0.77 or patching 0.76 with the patch available at

fixes this.

[Bug 73107] 9629 hangs X when starting fullscreen games

[Bug 65238] Re: mono-cairo 2 is not install a pkg-config file

2006-11-24 Thread Sebastian Dröge
Mono should ship two different pkgconfig files for Mono.Cairo 1.0 and
Mono.Cairo 2.0, both specifying the complete path to the assembly.
-r:something would only make gmcs look in /usr/lib/mono/2.0, mcs in 1.0

[Bug 64371] Re: mono crashes while compiling f-spot from cvs

2006-11-24 Thread Sebastian Dröge
Ok, this is more a bug in gtk# and mono. gtk#'s pkgconfig file should
just include the mono-cairo one. And mono should ship two pkg-config
files for Mono.Cairo, one 1.0 and one 2.0 which specify the complete
path to the assembly instead of just doing -r:Mono.Cairo

When you do -r:something it will only look in /usr/lib/mono/[12].0,
depending on with which compiler you build

"system, preferences, preferred applications" from the panel menu,
that's the capplet you use to select the default browser for GNOME. The
GNOME applications do not use sensible browser, they use that setting
(which is stored to gconf "/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command"
key)

Again, sensible-browser is not a "desktop setting" and the GNOME default
is not changed without asking you

[Bug 39744] Re: foomatic-db-gutenprint causes printer setup malfunctioning

2006-11-24 Thread Till Kamppeter
I have done changes in foomatic-db upstream so that it can be built
without the driver XML file with empty command lines, without driver
XMLs for obsolete drivers, and/or even only with driver XMLs for drivers
which are recommended for at least one printer. In the newest Ubuntu
package I have built this foomatic-db with driver entries for obsolete
drivers and with empty command lines excluded. So the problem of printer
setup tools breaking on driver XMLs with empty command lines should be
solved by that. But note that this is more a workaround than a fix, the
setup toools need to be fixed as suggested in my two previous comments.

Re: [x700] fails to infer lvds for primary connector on acer ferrari

What about the virtual-terminal problem mentioned above which I have
quoted below?

"On a Toshiba Satellite M70 with an X700 adding the line

Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,AUTO"

to xorg.conf does solve the blank screen problem, but when switching to
a virtual terminal with ctrl-alt-f1, the screen gets corrupted
(different shades of vertical lines). When I switch back with ctrl-
alt-f7, the screen is still corrupted." "

What do you mean with corrupted?
Is it this kind of corruption: http://xemanth.ath.cx/acer_issue/1.jpg ?

Try pushing ctrl alt f1 -> ctrl alt f7 -> ctrl alt f1 -> ctrl alt f7 as long as
monitor gets clear. It should I have similar problem that you have.
My problem may occur everytime when monitor needs to change its resolution.

Currently, they take precedence when menu.lst is created for the first

Unless you deliberately deletes the old menu.lst before you run update-

2006-11-24 Thread Albert Cardona
I get the same "No subject" and "unknown" author emails, but from pop accounts.
I have yet to trace it properly, but I suspect it has to do with filters that
identify spam email.
Once I got up to 50 of such messages in a ravishing flow, as if some internals
were stuck.
Quitting, making sure there are no kio-pop and kio-imap alive (and killing them
if neecessary), and restarting, solves the problem until at some point I get
the same "No subject" emails, one here one there.
