use  tag for displaying codes ;)

I myself like python very much. Can do so many thing without much hassle. I
use Glade to develop UI. I prefer the designer than hard coding the GUI
codes

Don't go for GUI programming first. Learn the basic stuffs first. Then when
you have learned the basics go for some network programming and then some
GUI programming.

[Ubuntu-BD] Ot: Moving wp blog to self hosted

[dark lord]

Hey yet another of topic :)

i want to move my blog http://foisal.wordpress.com to hosting  server.
Its been long time i played with wordpress. Now i need solution for
this-

1. Wht i hav to do to import my whole blog to my hosted wp.

 2. I deside i wont save images or any large file in my hosted blog to
save bandwidth .So how do i figure it out how much webspace i need. So
that i can choose hosting package  for now and for future.

3. My montly visitor count more or less 1000+ maybe including spam's. :-D

so how much bandwidth i gonna  need?

4. How can i make my blog more secure from hacker? I know some 1 whose
wp blog was deleted by hacker.

+ HOW TO backup and recover my blog if tht happens same with me?

5. Suggest me a cheap hosting .

I gess wp.com dont let blogger use adsence to there blog thts another
reason to move to hosted wp.

The best way is to export all your posts as xml and import it into the self

I think these are the type of topics we should discuss in forums/blogs/other 
places. Mailing lists are solely for one purpose and in the case of mailing 
list is to give support/discuss of a certain product. Anything other then that, 
should not be here (as every e-mail is sent to e'one and which is quite 
annoying to get so many unrelated mails). 
Good thing is in bd now there are a lot of technical communities. I think 
Shahriar or Angel can help me here by giving some names. I would recommend if 
you have any question regarding any issue other than ubuntu itself, please go 
to those forums/communities. I believe people will love to help you with nice 
advices.
I hope I did not say too much. I just tried to be reasonable and sensible to 
others.

[Ubuntu-BD] How to view Bangla newspaper Properly in Firefox

[Alamgir Murshed]

I have been using ubuntu 9.04  . 
Everything is going on ok but I am little bit unhappy when I see that I have to 
switch back on windows for reading Popular Bangla News Paper (Jugantor, 
Amadershomoy,Ittefaq etc). As firefox in ubuntu cannot properly display it.

Is there any way to solve the  problem?

The question could well be placed in the phpXperts group.
Well I can suggest a solution for darklord still. That is with name.com they
let you host only your WP with a lesser price. Check it out.

ফায়ারফক্সের ৩.৫ ভার্শন বের হয়েছে সেই কবে। অথচ এখনও ডিফল্টভাবে
ফায়ারফক্স ৩.৫ ভার্শন ব্যবহার করতে পেলাম না।
আলাদাভাবে জিপফাইল ডাউনলোড করে একটি ফোল্ডারে রেখেছি। সেখান থেকে রান
করেই ব্যবহার করছি। এছাড়াও Synaptic থেকে ডাউনলোড করেছি, কিন্তু
মেনুবারের ইন্টারনেট সাবমেনুতে পুরনো ৩.০.১১ কে বাতিল করে এখনও ৩.৫ নিতে
পারলাম না। ubuntuzilla দিয়ে চেষ্টা করেছিলাম। কিন্তু সফল হইনি। কেউ কি
ধারাবাহিকভাবে পদ্ধতিটি বলবেন?

gnome menu editor দিয়ে কি কাজ হয় না? নোম মেন্যু এডিটর দিয়ে নতুন এন্ট্রি তৈরি
করুন, কমান্ডের জায়গায় firefox-3.5 দিন।

I don't understand why people can't use ubuntuzilla. Look at the 
commands I issued in the bash.After the installation completed I just 
opened FF and it shows version 3.5.1 with bangla interface.

[Ubuntu-BD] Problem regarding Thunderbird

I've just mentioned hos I've installed thunderbird 2.0.0.22 via 
ubuntuzilla.But now the problem is that I can't see Bangla properly 
there anymore .I've changed the character encoding to Unicode UTF-8 but 
still no luck.How ca ni fix that bangla problem?

হ্যাঁ, Shiretoko Web Browser পেয়েছি। অনেক ধন্যবাদ। কিন্তু এরকম হলো
কেন? আলাদা নাম!! অদ্ভুত ব্যাপার!! আমি সেদিন এটা দেখিছলাম। কিন্তু হঠাৎ
বিদ্যুত যাওয়ায় আর পরে চেক করা হয়নি। মনেও ছিল না।
উইন্ডোজ হলে কিন্তু পুরনো ভার্সনের সাথে রিপ্লেস হয়ে যেতো। কিন্তু
উবুন্টুতে হলো না। কারণ কি?

আমার সমস্যার সমাধান হওয়ায় আপনাকে আবারো ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছি।
(৩.০.১১ এ ইনস্টল করা পরশমনি তো কাজ করছে। প্রথম আলো আগের মতোই
স্পষ্টভাবে দেখতে পারছি।)
