Re: [ubuntu-art] a representation of 'My computer'
this s a different in the linux world.we should not jst implement ideas frm other OS..it ll seem user firendly to people who use it..its obvious...unix file system stands apart from any other so we shudn't go on to change the look n feel... Re: [ubuntu-art] a representation of 'My computer'
Hi, I think it's easier and more consitent to include a "computer" entry similar to the places menu item in the sidebar above or below the filesystem entry. Re: [ubuntu-art] a representation of 'My computer'
Their are a few problems with your argument. You should change a whole kernel what makes the step too another Linux systems way harder. Unix Server structers are that way it can give a lot of bugs. If you want too keep on using window or OS/2 go ahead. It's not that stable as Unix and it also has much too do the with file system. The switch between another Unix system and Ubuntu also get anoying. And this the art list. Their is an other list for this thing. But I hope that they say the same as me on the devolpment list. How ever you can make a style and make it posibable I don't see any Problem in it. So if people want too choiche too make their system like another OS they can. Re: [ubuntu-art] a representation of 'My computer'
my only point is it should not be difficult for an average user to use ubuntu. my style improves visiblity and avoids cluster. it will prevent users from entering filesystem and deleting any important sys files. not to mention the benefit of home folder being on top.
