I implemented this at work.  On Tuesday I'll confirm my company's open
source policy will allow me to contribute it back to txaws.

A few things:

Happy Hanukkah
The build reliability on FreeBSD seems pretty bad.  On one PR that is just a 
doc change I've gotten like 4 failed builds in a row, mostly variants of this:

Overall it seems to be failing a lot; appropriate to the holiday there is a
