[Touch-packages] [Bug 2046844] Re: AppArmor user namespace creation restrictions cause many applications to crash with SIGTRAP

2024-10-05 Thread Jaromir Obr
I'm on Ubuntu 24.04 and I have apparmor
4.0.1really4.0.1-0ubuntu0.24.04.3 where the bug should be fixed.

But I'm getting this:

~/lmstudio$ ./LM_Studio-0.3.3.AppImage
[925145:1005/093654.069946:FATAL:setuid_sandbox_host.cc(158)] The SUID sandbox
helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly. Rather than run
without sandboxing I'm aborting now. You need to make sure that
/tmp/.mount_LM_StuOdQy3r/chrome-sandbox is owned by root and has mode 4755.

As a workaround I'm able to run the appimage with "--no-sandbox". Also a
running of the app from Nautilus (by a double click) works well.

Any idea?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2083741] [NEW] On some of restarts black theme is not applied and nautilus, terminal, system-monitor are loading way slow

2024-10-05 Thread Joe
Public bug reported:

On some of restarts black theme is not applied and nautilus, terminal,
system-monitor are loading way slow.

After 2 minutes it's getting normal and it happens not on all the time.

1) Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS

3) Normal working of the nautilus, terminal, system-monitor

4) Startup of terminal, nautilus takes long time. They are started in
the incorrect theme. Busy cursor is being displayed all the time.

I've recorded a video, where you can see this behavior

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2083742] [NEW] Omnipresent Busy cursor on some apps startup

2024-10-05 Thread Joe
Public bug reported:

For most of the programs when I start them up annoying busy cursor is
spinning around ~20 seconds on the right dash and top tray area.

You can stop spinning it if you manually resize the window or you may wait as I
said around 20 seconds.
Fortunately it's seems like annoying but visual bug, you can actually run apps
or click tray icons and they will be run when this busy cursor is still spinning

1) Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS

2) It's a case for Chrome, Chromium, Slack, Telegram | Not a case for
PhpStorm, Opera, Firefox, Thunderbird, ubuntu related apps like
settings, nautilus, terminal

3) When app starts up - replace busy cursor to normal cursor in a few
seconds

Video to reproduce:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1973441] Re: Printing does not work on Ubuntu 22.04 - cups-pki-invalid

2024-10-05 Thread Sami Pietila
The problem looks like to be that printers re-renerate/update
certificates frequently even if they haven't expired. CUPS notices that
the certificate has changed and refuses to print. This happens with ipps
protocol, which is default. Here are instructions to use ipp protocol,
which does not check certificates.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2079966] Re: tzdata 2024b release

2024-10-05 Thread Rebecca Palmer
Importing Debian's tzdata 2024b-1 is probably not a good way to do this,
as it also changes to a newer format that saves space but breaks
python3-dateutil and hence several other packages:

https://ubuntu-archive-team.ubuntu.com/proposed-migration/update_excuses.html#tzdata
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1084111

This is probably fixed in 2024b-2.

  [ Impact ]

The 2024b release contains the following changes:

  * Improve historical data for Mexico, Mongolia, and Portugal.
  * System V names are now obsolescent.
  * The main data form now uses %z.

  [ Test Plan ]

Test cases were added to the autopkgtest to cover the testing:

  * python: test_2024b
  * python-icu: test_2024b (only for focal and newer)

So the test plan is to check that the autopkgtest succeeds.

  [ Other Info ]

The autopkgtest for chrony is flaky on jammy and newer (see bug
  #2002910).
