Here is a screenshot for Facebook, but the problem is similar for flickr and fitbit. It's like it opens the desktop version of the login form instead of the mobile version in the side stage window. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1253608] Re: topMost InverseMouseArea should removeEventFilter when disabled
This seems to be fixed some time, as we are no longer filtering the app events, but the window. So I'll mark it as fix released. ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-ui-toolkit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1253608 Title: topMost InverseMouseArea should removeEventFilter when disabled Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: An InverseMouseArea that has the topMost property as true will install itself as an event filter. When it's disabled, there's no use for such event filtering and it will therefore be just useless overhead. Specially when that event filter is installed on the QGuiApplication, which gets quite a lot of events. I actually don't get why to you install it on the QGuiApplication when your target (sensing area) is the rootItem. It would be great if there was a comment in the code explaining this strange decision. Maybe its because of the bug that you cannot filter events sent to QQuickItems [1] (whose fix is on the way [2]). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1544191] Re: Facebook, Flickr and Fitbit login page is too small in side stage
The default UA string the Ubuntu WebView sends is based on the *screen* size, not the window size. 10" is considered big enough that it requests "desktop" content. That’s a deliberate decision, but obviously the side-stage use case wasn’t taken into account in the investigation that led to that decision. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1540129] Re: thumbnails missing from Top Sites view
When closing a tab, its 'current' property becomes false, and as a consequence a capture is requested. However it never manages to complete because in the meantime the tab object has been destroyed. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1543282] Re: masked jobs trigger warning about failed dependency
This bug was fixed in the package systemd - 228-6ubuntu1 --- systemd (228-6ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium * Merge with Debian unstable. Remaining Ubuntu changes: - Hack to support system-image read-only /etc, and modify files in /etc/writable/ instead. - Build using libseccomp on powerpc and ppc64el (See Debian #800818). Upgrade fixes, keep until 16.04 LTS release: - systemd Conflicts/Replaces/Provides systemd-services. - Remove obsolete systemd-logind upstart job. - Clean up obsolete /etc/udev/rules.d/README. - systemd.postinst: Migrate mountall specific fstab options to standard util-linux "nofail" option. - systemctl: Don't forward telinit u to upstart. This works around upstart's Restart() always reexec'ing /sbin/init on Restart(), even if that changes to point to systemd during the upgrade. This avoids running systemd during a dist-upgrade. (LP: #1430479) - Provide shutdown fallback for upstart. (LP: #1370329) - Break lvm (<< 2.02.133-1ubuntu1) and remove our dummy /etc/init.d/lvm2 on upgrades, as it's shipped by lvm2 now. - Make udev break on mdadm << 3.3-2ubuntu3, as udev's init script dropped the "Provides: raid-mdadm". - Clean up /var/log/udev on upgrade (which is written under upstart, but not under systemd). (LP: #1537211) - Migrate existing s390x network configuration to new names. (LP: #1526808) - systemd.postinst: Bump Version comparison for migrating the UTC setting from /etc/default/rcS to /etc/adjtime, to run it for upgrades to 16.04. systemd (228-7) UNRELEASED; urgency=medium * debian/tests/systemd-fsckd: Tame overly strict test for failed plymouth unit, which is a race condition with plymouthd auto-stopping. (LP: #1543144) * Do not warn about Wants depencencies on masked units. (LP: #1543282) * Drop timedated-don-t-rely-on-usr-being-mounted-in-the-ini.patch. initramfs-tools has mounted /usr since Jessie, and tzdata now creates /etc/localtime as a symlink too (see #803144). * Use-different-default-paths-for-various-binaries.patch: Drop path changes for setcap (which is already a build dep and not used at all) and sulogin (which is now in util-linux). * Remove obsolete udev maintainer script checks: - Drop check for kernel >= 2.6.32, which released in 2009. - Drop restarting of some daemons due to the devtmpfs migration, which happened before the above kernel even. - Drop support for forcing upgrades on kernels known not to work via /etc/udev/kernel-upgrade. Don't pretend that this would help, as users could end up with a non-bootable system. Always fail early in preinst when it's still possible to install a working kernel. - Drop postinst test for "running in containers" -- it's actually possible to run udev in containers if you mount /sys r/w and you know what you are doing. Also, the init.d script and systemd service do that check again. - Keep the kernel feature and chroot checks, as these are still useful. Simplify check_kernel_features() by eliminating some variables. - Drop debconf templates. Two of them are obsolete, and having CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED is now so implausible that this doesn't warrant the overhead and translator efforts. * Drop debian/tests/ifupdown-hotplug. The units moved into ifupdown, so the test should go there too (see #814312). * debian/tests/control: Reorder tests and add a comment which ones should not be run for an upstream build. * debian/tests/control: Rearrange tests and avoid removing test dependencies to minimize testbed resets. * Add debian/extra/checkout-upstream: Script to replace the current source with a checkout of an upstream pull request, branch, or commit, and remove debian/patches/. Call from debian/rules if $TEST_UPSTREAM is set. This will be used for upstream CI. systemd (228-6) unstable; urgency=medium * Make-run-lock-tmpfs-an-API-fs.patch: Drop /run/lock from tmpfiles.d/legacy.conf to avoid the latter clobbering the permissions of /run/lock. [Touch-packages] [Bug 575458] Re: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/ntp breaks local NTP server (patch)
We've been reviewing the entire Ubuntu delta for ntp, and came across this sed rule change which is still active. I will drop it for Xenial. I agree with Jeffrey. The sed rule is incorrect - it does not achieve what it attempts to achieve, and creates surprising behaviour. Fundamentally we have two things at odds with each other. There are two sources for NTP servers: 1) ntp.conf; and 2) any DHCP response. Clearly there are use cases where the DHCP response should be used over an ntp.conf default, and there are also use cases where the DHCP response should be ignored and ntp.conf's default (or changed) settings used instead. The only sane thing to do is to pick a default that will work for the majority of users, and instruct users for whom this does not work on what to do instead. If you have configured your system to use DHCP, I think it is reasonable to expect your system to honor NTP settings received back from DHCP. IMHO, this should by default overrule any setting in ntp.conf, and so Debian's current path is sane, and Ubuntu should follow. Therefore I am dropping Ubuntu's delta on this point for Xenial. If you have a special case where you are using DHCP but do not want DHCP's NTP server response to override local settings, then you should configure the DHCP client you are using to ignore any NTP part of the DHCP response to get the behaviour you need. I'd appreciate if someone could comment with exact steps on how to achieve this. I'll mark this bug Won't Fix now, to reflect the fact that the original reporter's actual behaviour is the expected behaviour for Xenial onwards. ** Changed in: ntp (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ntp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575458 Title: /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/ntp breaks local NTP server (patch) Status in ntp package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Binary package hint: ntp The dhcp exit hook for ntp removes *all* ntp servers from ntp.conf if the dhcp server provides a new ntp host. The screen was locked and I pressed the power button to unlock the screen. The phone did not react on any pushed buttons. The phone continued ringing but I was not able to do anything with the phone during this time. During the next minute the phone was blocked. After this period a "restart" followed. "Restart": The restart was not a real reset. The phone screen was black. Then approx. 1 - 2 minutes after the call was gone, the screen went on again and the ubuntu logo with the dots appeared (same screen when you start the phone but without the "bq"-screen). I did not need to enter the PIN code of the SIM card. The phone was again fully operational. This happened on January, 10th at approx. 13:30 h. I have attached the sys.log for your review and hopefully for tracing back the issue to the root cause. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1544571] [NEW] Unable to get PPD file for ...: Moved Permanently
Public bug reported: 1) lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS Release:14.04 2) apt-cache policy cups-client cups-client: Installed: 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 Candidate: 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 Version table: *** 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.7 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-security/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1.7.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages My problem: *What I expected to happen: In our environment we have a cups print server delivering different print queues, e.g. elbe_transparency. For all queues I get the same faulty result running lpoptions, e.g. for lpoptions -l -d elbe_transparency I get lpoptions: Unable to get PPD file for elbe_transparency: Moved Permanently. And also GUI apps like Evince have problems due to this bug. * What I did so far: (a) I used wireshark to capture the ipp protocol and found that lpoptions tries to retrieve the PPD for the printer elbe with device-uri "ipp://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de:631" from that device URI instead of the cups server with printer-uri-supported "ipp://192.168.3.5:631/printers/elbe_transparency". This makes sense when the device URI is actually another CUPS server, but not when, as in our case, it is a network-attached printer that "talks" IPP natively. It will not have the PPD at the CUPS-specific URL. (b) I used "strace -s1000 lpoptions -p elbe_transparency -l 2>lpoptions.txt" to get ... sendto(9, "GET /.ppd HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de:631\r\nUser-Agent: CUPS/1.7.2 (Linux 3.16.0-60-generic; x86_64) IPP/2.0\r\n\r\n", 129, 0, NULL, 0) = 129 poll([{fd=9, events=POLLIN}], 1, 6) = 1 ([{fd=9, revents=POLLIN}]) recvfrom(9, "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently\r\nServer: Virata-EmWeb/R6_2_1\r\nLocation: https://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de/.ppd\r\nContent-Type: text/html\r\nContent-Length: 110\r\n\r\nMovedhttps://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de/.ppd\";>Moved\r\n", 2048, 0, NULL, NULL) = 273 ... which shows the same problem as described above. * Where does the problem come from The actual problem can be found in cups/util.c (1.7.2) within function cups_get_printer_uri() starting at line 1623. At line 1719 one finds if (device_uri && (!strncmp(device_uri, "ipp://", 6) || !strncmp(device_uri, "ipps://", 7) || ((strstr(device_uri, "._ipp.") != NULL || strstr(device_uri, "._ipps.") != NULL) && !strcmp(device_uri + strlen(device_uri) - 5, "/cups"{...} else if ((attr = ippFindAttribute(response, "member-uris", IPP_TAG_URI)) != NULL) {...} else if ((attr = ippFindAttribute(response, "printer-uri-supported", IPP_TAG_URI)) != NULL){...} The problem is that always the statement of the first if block is executed as our printer has device-uri "ipp://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu- dresden.de:631. However, it should execute the third block with printer- uri-supported. This problem was discussed several times before, e.g. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=729713. In later versions of cups this was fixed by if (device_uri && (((!strncmp(device_uri, "ipp://", 6) || !strncmp(device_uri, "ipps://", 7)) && (strstr(device_uri, "/printers/") != NULL || strstr(device_uri, "/classes/") != NULL)) || ((strstr(device_uri, "._ipp.") != NULL || strstr(device_uri, "._ipps.") != NULL) && !strcmp(device_uri + strlen(device_uri) - 5, "/cups" to ensure the device URI is actually another CUPS server. Please, could you fix this asap. We have many Ubuntu machines in our environment and this bug is really annoying. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1274095] Re: FilterGrid backed by FilterProxyModel renders wrong
There's no filtergrid anymore ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1274095 Title: FilterGrid backed by FilterProxyModel renders wrong Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: While working on a different bug I noticed that FilterGrid would occasionally not render properly when backed by LimitProxyModel. To give you an example: $ bzr branch -r657 lp:~unity-team/unity8/unity8-fix-filtergrid tests/qmltests/Components/tst_FilterGrid Wraps the fakeModel with LimitProxyModel, and sets that on the filterGrid as the backing model. $ make -C builddir tryFilterGrid Consdering collapsedRowCount: 2, columns: 3, now select "model count limit" value 4 (4 items shown, 3+1), then 1 (1 item shown), then 4 (*3* items shown, 3+0) -- second row should show one more item. Note that "rowsWhenCollapsed" displays value of 2, which would be correct (that would be the actual value of collapsedRowCount). Now select: 3 (3 items shown), then 4 (*4* items shown, 3+1) -- only now the behavior is correct! In other words, items displayed on the second row seem to "kick in" only after model grows while it previously filled up the whole first row (or, for that matter, you could generalize to the last row being visible in the FilterGrid, smaller than collapsedRowCount). As you see, changing the count of items in the model should not affect how many items FilterGrid shows (/renders). And even though rowsWhenCollapsed is calculated correctly, items are missing. Try selecting "model count limit" to 1, then 7. You'll only see 3. If you, however, set 3, then 7, you'll see 6! [Touch-packages] [Bug 1384243] Re: photos edited in gallery do not display edited in "My Photos" scope
@Michi: Appending a timestamp param (image://thumbnailer/PATH&TIMESTAMP) to every photo's art uri accomplishes the goal: on refresh edited photos display edited in surfafed results I assume this approach does not force the thumbnailer to rethumbnail every photo every time (even though the URIs are now always new) because when there has been no edit of the photo the file modification time has not changed. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1004607] Re: pulseaudio switches microhpones randomly
** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1004607 Title: pulseaudio switches microhpones randomly Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Problem === During Skype calls, pulseaudio switches input to front microphone randomly. I need to manually switch back to rear mic every time that happens. Expected === I select the rear microphone as input (pavucontrol) and it stays that way. Workaround == I disabled this module in /etc/pulse/default.pa: # load-module module-switch-on-port-available and then restarting pulseaudio obviously solves this. Ideal workaround == Disable port switching for (selected?) input devices in pavucontrol. Or at least somehow honor my selection, e.g. if the input is marked as a fallback device, it shouldn't switch. Possible cause 1 = After pulseaudio startup, pactl shows these lines: analog-input-microphone-front: Front Microphone (priority 8500, available: yes) analog-input-microphone-rear: Rear Microphone (priority 8200, available: no) Note: I don't use the front mic port at all. Possible cause 2 = My sound card or ports may be creating noise that triggers "jack activation" events Possible cause 3 = Bios, hardware related issues trigger jack activation events. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1544595] [NEW] dmesg man page misleading on -d -t switches
