[Touch-packages] [Bug 1529049] Re: Switch bluetooth keyboard from qwerty to azerty
Just remember, there are serveral users, who are using their system with diffrent language settings for the Display Language and the Keyboard Character Map. For example I am using my UbuntuPhone with english Display Language but I have a german Keyboard (qwertz). I. e. simply choosing the character map by the systems Display Language will not be enough. So I think the best way of integration would be to add a settings menu for connected bluetooth keyboards. I'm trying to explain in detail what I mean: If I open settings>bluetooth, then I can see my already paired bluetooth keyboard device. Then I can tap to the device and I can see the devices menu with information about Name, Type, Status and Signal Strenth and so on... It would be the best to add in this menu a further entry tochange the Keyboard character map. Nevertheless, the Display Language setting should affect the default Keyboard chracter map. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529049 Title: Switch bluetooth keyboard from qwerty to azerty Status in ubuntu-keyboard: New Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Trying convergence, I've noticed that : When a bluetooth keyboard is paired, the keyboard is by default in Qwerty (even if it's an Azerty keyboard and the settings of UT are on French Azerty keyboard layout) We should have an option to set the Azerty / Qwerty option in bluetooth settings. Or a better solution could be that the bluetooth keyboard layout is set to the default keyboard layout we have put in Language settings. Does someone know a way to set correctly the layout of the bluetooth keyboard ? (I've tried : 'loadkeys fr' in terminal but this didn't work, I suspect that the default layout was already on fr but the bluetooth keyboard doesn't detect it) Device : mako rc-proposed last revision of 24 dec 2015 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-keyboard/+bug/1529049/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Touch-packages] [Bug 1529360] [NEW] lubuntu 14-04 xorg server crash every 6 hours nvidia
Public bug reported: Everything is fine (no memory leak) up until a random instant (sometimes correlated with watching flash videos, but othertimes just plain inactivity triggers it), then all RAM is used up in a matter of seconds, mouse become unresponsive and xorg-server logs me out I asked a question on askubuntu but didn't get any attention : http://askubuntu.com/questions/703936/lubuntu-14-04-xorg-server-crash- every-6-hours-nvidia Copy pasting it here : Every few hours my fresh Lubuntu 14.04 laptop crashes violently. Bringing Xorg server down. I have an asus ROG with geforce gtx-960m. I looked at the xorg server log and it seems to point to a Nvidia crash. I had problems with nouveau drivers. So I went to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia And executed sudo ubuntu-drivers devices == /sys/devices/pci:00/:00:01.0/:01:00.0 == modalias : pci:v10DEd139Bsv1043sd185Dbc03sc02i00 vendor : NVIDIA Corporation driver : nvidia-352 - distro non-free recommended driver : nvidia-352-updates - distro non-free driver : xserver-xorg-video-nouveau - distro free builtin Then proceeded to install nvidia-352 as recommended via apt-get. It works fine except when it crashes every ~6 hours (sudden memory leak then freeze) : When running nvidia-settings it says driver version : 352.63 And I can run cuda and opengl just fine. Previously I was under 14.10 then 15.04 and it was working OK until the 15.10 migration, which was so unstable I had to install back a fresh 14.04. What did I do wrong ? Can you advise what I should do ? Below is the relevant part of : /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old [ 19258.494] reporting 4 6 16 132 (EE) [mi] EQ overflowing. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1453912] Re: systemd does not unlock dm-crypt password
I can confirm the exact same behavior: if /etc/crypttab has entries for non-root devices, then the only way to unlock with a password is to force plymouth to run with the "splash" boot option. I've been trying to test luks-encrypted data volumes (non-root) on ubuntu-server and have hit this problem for 15.04, 15.10, and 16.04 daily...basically ever since the switch to systemd. Worse, adding "splash" doesn't actually resolve the problem on ubuntu-server...perhaps due to a broken/incomplete plymouth install? I ended up testing ubuntu-desktop 15.10 on a whim with "splash" and that was the first time I was able to enter the password to unlock the devices. It seems like this is a problem with the systemd-ask-password-console service. I've tried to test the theory by creating an extremely simple "oneshot" service script that requires systemd-ask-password-console and runs "/bin/systemd-ask-password --no-tty 'Test'". I've tried all manner of systemd service options and I can't for the life of me get systemd- ask-password-console to prompt for a password. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453912 Title: systemd does not unlock dm-crypt password Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Since upgrading from version 14.10 to Kubuntu 15.04, my system does not boot normally any more. Maybe it's only a stupid oversight on my part, but not being a systemd pro, I'm currently at a loss of how to debug this any further. Hints and pointers to appropriate documentation are welcome! Kubuntu 15.04 quickly boots to a specific point where it seems to try to enable a dm-crypt partition which also carries /home, beside other data, and simply stalls. I'm not asked to enter my crytpdisk password and I also cannot enter it blindly without being asked. You can see the point where it stalls in the attached "screenshot" (photo of my screen). I can then press Ctrl+Alt+Del to cleanly restart the system but I could not find a way to get beyond this point with systemd. Using the alternative boot option with upstart works flawlessly. (Although booting with this boot option is really slow and it takes a while to reach the graphical login screen - it basically looks as if the system is waiting for some name resolving timeouts during boot, but that's a different issue, if've not debugged it further and maybe it's just gone once systemd works to boot my machine.) [Touch-packages] [Bug 571752] Re: slapd upgrades don't add frontend ACLs for base="" and cn=subschema
Fixed in natty and later, looks like. openldap (2.4.23-5) unstable; urgency=high [...] * debian/slapd.scripts-common, debian/slapd.postinst: on upgrade from versions <= 2.4.23-4, explicitly grant access to cn=Subschema, which otherwise is blocked by our added olcAccess settings. Closes: #596326. * Likewise, grant access to dn.exact="" so that base dn autodiscovery works as intended. Closes: #596049. ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571752 Title: slapd upgrades don't add frontend ACLs for base="" and cn=subschema Status in openldap package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: As a result of LP: #427842, the initial configuration created upon installation of slapd 2.4.21-0ubuntu4 and later will include the following ACLs on the {-1}frontend database: olcAccess: to dn.base="" by * read olcAccess: to dn.base="cn=subschema" by * read However, when upgrading from earlier versions of slapd, no attempt is made make sure these ACLs exist. [Touch-packages] [Bug 990892] Re: package slapd 2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
There isn't enough information (would need debconf info) to say for sure, but this is most likely caused by slapd/domain ending with a dot, or otherwise causing olcSuffix to end up containing an unacceptable character. The former case has been fixed in wily and later. ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #637996 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=637996 ** Also affects: openldap (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=637996 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990892 Title: package slapd 2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Status in openldap package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in openldap package in Debian: Unknown Bug description: Attempted to install slapd for the first time, but on a machine recently upgraded from 10.04. patch https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/66697/ DOESN'T solve the flickering problem on my computer. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1522922]
Created attachment 120678 syslog for sleep/resume flickering issue Mika - this is the syslog for the flickering on resume from sleep, after applying your latest patch (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=120493) I do fairly consistently see a single flicker after requesting sleep, and before the laptop sleeps. This may or may not be the flickering issue, so I can't be certain whether the problem starts on requesting sleep mode, or on resuming from sleep. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to libdrm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1522922 Title: Screen flickering in Intel i915 driver Status in Nouveau Xorg driver: Incomplete Status in libdrm package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: There's an upstream bug reported here https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91393 that causes screen flickering when using the Intel i915 builtin driver (at resolutions lower than the maximal one). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1453912] Re: systemd does not unlock dm-crypt password
I tried another test in an attempt to get /bin/systemd-tty-ask-password- agent to prompt for a password. I ensured no other systemd password agents were running (ps auxww | grep ask), then launched 'sudo /bin /systemd-tty-ask-password-agent --watch --console' in one terminal and launched 'sudo /bin/systemd-ask-password --no-tty --timeout=30 Test' in another terminal. The terminal with systemd-tty-ask-password-agent running never prompts for anything and after 30 seconds, the systemd- ask-password process times-out. It seems like there's some sort of bug that prevents systemd-tty-ask-password-agent from doing its job. In an attempt to be thorough, I repeated the test after running 'sudo rm /lib/systemd/system/systemd-ask-password-*' and rebooting. I did this to ensure none of the agents were spawning via systemd path events and interfering with the direct test. Finally, I also repeated the test one more time via 'sudo strace -f /bin /systemd-tty-ask-password-agent --watch --console' and captured the strace output. That's attached as 'tty-agent.out'. It hangs at that final line indefinitely: 'read(6,' ** Attachment added: "strace output for ' /bin/systemd-tty-ask-password-agent --watch --console'" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1453912/+attachment/4540627/+files/tty-agent.out -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453912 Title: systemd does not unlock dm-crypt password Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Since upgrading from version 14.10 to Kubuntu 15.04, my system does not boot normally any more. (Although booting with this boot option is really slow and it takes a while to reach the graphical login screen - it basically looks as if the system is waiting for some name resolving timeouts during boot, but that's a different issue, if've not debugged it further and maybe it's just gone once systemd works to boot my machine.) [Touch-packages] [Bug 1529431] [NEW] Add insert-text icon to non-full icon package
Public bug reported: Please can you move the "insert-text" icon from gnome-icon-theme-full to gnome-icon-theme, and from adwaita-icon-theme-full to adwaita-icon- theme. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1529445] [NEW] Several memory/file descriptor leaks in gstreamer 1.6.0
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 15.10 includes gstreamer 1.6.0. There were several important leak fixes in 1.6.1, some of which also meant holding references to file descriptors around, which can result in crashes once the fd limit is hit. Upstream bugs: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=755867 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=756552 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=756611 All of these were fixed in 1.6.1 What motivated me to investigate this bug is a 'random' crash in pidgin after several hours of leaking file descriptors, which looks exactly like bug #1479715 but happened even after applying that patch. Turns out that it wasn't pidgin holding the references that kept those file descriptors open, but it was gstreamer itself. I'd fill the whole SRU template here but i'm afraid there are too many patches that need to be applied to fix these bugs properly (some of them in gst-plugins-base, some of them in libgstreamer, and I don't know exactly which ones are needed) and anything less than updating to 1.6.1 or 1.6.2 would be wrong, IMO. The whole 1.6.x branch is bugfixes only. [Test Case] * Download https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=313241 to playbin-leak.c * Optionally change the "a.ogg" uri to a valid path to a sound in the local system (maybe "file:///usr/share/sounds/alsa/Noise.wav"). Some leaks and warnings appear anyway even without changing this. * Build with: gcc -Wall $(pkg-config --cflags gstreamer-1.0 gtk+-3.0 glib-2.0) playbin-leak.c $(pkg-config --libs gstreamer-1.0 gtk+-3.0 glib-2.0) * Run as: GOBJECT_DEBUG=instance-count GTK_DEBUG=interactive ./a.out * Let it run, see warnings after some iterations, watch it leak. Alternatively, how i've been testing this so far, which roughly imitates the pidgin crash (but probably only applies to a subset of the leaks) * Get a ubuntu 15.10 VM without sound card (so that pulseaudio fails to play sounds) * Do this: cd /usr/share/sounds/alsa valgrind --track-fds=yes gst-play-1.0 --audiosink=pulsesink Noise.wav Noise.wav Noise.wav * File descriptors open at exit should be 4, not 10 (it leaks two for each time it plays) ** Affects: gst-plugins-base1.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gstreamer1.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: gstreamer1.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Ubuntu 15.10 includes gstreamer 1.6.0.
