Hello Ali,

I am happy for you that you have recovered and seem now to feel fine.

I am not as happy about the way you have pushed things before you say "the
project is ON
HOLD". I see that not many people have answered since you popped up a pair of
days ago,
and mainly I can't work with a team leader who changes his mind – openbox or
not openbox?
– and who changes targets: "be ready before April to help people with old boxes
under
XP" VS - "don't hurry! I can't follow you guys! I can' t run so fast!" VS "I
am doing
this for fun". ???

This might look like a caricature but expresses perfectly how I have felt about
it, not
to say about the drowning of the project as soon as you have told everybody
that it is
“ON HOLD”.

Now just fancy a company. Let's say a startup, with… 17 persons engaged to
work, some
have a role, and others are helpers to the people who have the main roles, and
work in
their team. But now, the director, or the CO has a car accident and can't work
for the
next 10 days. The question is: will the company stop working and close it's
doors,
therefore putting all 17 + the CO + the director to unemployment, or will the
next
helpers of the CO manage to keep it running?

Said otherwise it comes to William's post, “Subject: [Torios] ToriOS, moving
forward.
Date: Fri, 31 Jan 2014 17:04:53 -0600”. He said it well, and I agree with him
about
asking you respectfully to step down from the leadership.

Unless you leave the leadership of this project to him, or any other person who
has
ability to let each one do his part of the job without trying to control them,
I will not
continue to participate here.

William : I tell it to everyone on the list, I do agree with you, and I am
still ok to
work on this project if Ali agrees with what you have asked him. If not, I will
just
go back to the Bento Ubuntu Remix project, and work on some improvements I have
thought
about since some time.

To the other participants, please feel free to comment.

Best regards,
Mélodie

[Torios] ToriOS Project

2014-02-02 Thread Ali Linx (amjjawad)
Hi,

For some odd reason, I didn't receive this email:
https://lists.launchpad.net/torios/msg00295.html

Not sure if my email: amjja...@torios.org is still working on not? too many
funny things are happening lately :)

As for this email:
https://lists.launchpad.net/torios/msg00295.html

My answer is simple:
ToriOS is my project (baby) and I am the father/founder of this project.
Anyone is welcome to join this project, contribute and participate.

Anyone who is not happy with the direction of this project or think I am a
bad leader, he/she is free to express his/her feelings, that is for sure. I
definitely do respect each and every opinion. However, I do trust my
experience and skills and my Wiki Page can give a bit of example of what I
have achieved so far :)

I don't give up, nor surrender.

I was NOT happy with the way the project was heading as no body was
listening and it was a mess and a chaos and I do not work this way.

So, long story short:

@Everyone
I am the founder of this project and I have no plans to step down.
You're welcome to carry on. You're welcome to step down or leave. This is
your call and I have no control over your decision.

Thank you for everything so far :)

Please, reply with:

"I am IN" = if you're interested to carry on.

"I am OUT" = if you're not interested.

I do need to know who will stay and who is not going to stay so that I do
my things and start all over again with possibly different people who
appreciate what I do and show some respect at least to the one who come up
with the idea of this project :)

I'd be really glad if certain people I have in mind who could remain but of
course, I can't force anyone :)

Thank you!

Hi,

Do you sometimes answer directly to the people's mails when the content bothers
you?

About your achievements, you seem to be mostly good at putting up wikis,
gathering people,
and impulsing energy (sometimes perhaps too much).

Ok. This is your decision.

I can also show some of my achievements. I had presented most of them to you in
a private
mail a pair of weeks ago. Then, you just said the mail was very long and you
couldn't
take the time to read it. Well I had taken the time to write it, so you could
have marked
it for later reading and taken the time to read a mail coming from the person
you were
giving the responsibility of the development.

The latest:
http://linuxvillage.org/en/2013/11/bento-ubuntu-remix-rc/

and going back in time:
http://meylodie.wordpress.com/2010/11/23/pclinuxos-bonsai-en/

http://meylodie.wordpress.com/2011/12/26/pclinuxos-education-en-2/

http://linuxvillage.org/Downloads/ISOS/PCLinuxOS_En/

http://linuxvillage.org/Downloads/ISOS/PCLinuxOS_Fr/

The quality of these spinoffs is known by a few people who are still using it.

Someone else from the present team was also waiting for your answer at a sub
forum put up
specifically to talk about how all this would be driven, but you didn't care
about
putting your mouse on that link and about answering to his questions. Again: ???

All the above projects have been achieved through simple participation on one
or two
single threads on a forum, and new ISOs where created sometimes several times a
day, and
uploaded every two or three days so that the testers and the artists could work
directly
on them. You have _your ways_ which I don't understand quite well. I was ready
to offer
the result of my work and some new basis as a start for something more
finished, nothing
more, nothing less.

I am not willing to use my time through your methods and *I am OUT*, as I
stated in the
former mail to the list and to you (Subject: Re: [Torios] Test - Melodie's
message -
Date: Sun, 2 Feb 2014 17:51:27 +0100), and I wish you good luck.

Best regards,
Mélodie

If someone 'fails' to explain him/her self in few words, and sends a huge
long email and 'force' people to go though all that newsletter despite the
endless nice request to Keep It Simple And SHORT, well, sorry but I did
read it indeed and was LOST and I admit, I didn't reply back to the same
email but I am sure I have stated that the email was super long :) sorry if
I didn't explain myself better. If you want to be successful, you need to
'learn' how to KISS. Just a free advice.

What link and what email? Have you ever thought to check the forum before
you attack me personally?
The domain is down and as I said, it seems someone has put my

sending this from amjja...@gmail.com in case you didn't notice.

Yes, I have my 'own' way and I like it :)
If you fail to understand my way, don't blame me please. Everyone has
his/her own way. I do respect your way, do respect mine. Can't cope with
it? feel free to state your opinion nicely :) can't do that? just don't
create a drama out of nothing, please.

Not really. You were doing your best to 'force' your own style and
copy-paste Bento into another name which is ToriOS. When you found out that
I didn't really like what you're trying to achieve and despite how many
times I have asked nicely to take it easy and let's have a vote for what WE
do want, you kept sending LONG emails and kept ignoring me.

I have also sent some shorter emails to you to which you have not answered.
Yes, I was
interested to change Bento into ToriOS, I don't think I have hidden that. As
long as it
was about serving people the best and lightest possible version, and bring it
to the
highest level we were on the same goal. Once you started to say well no, we may
use
something else than Openbox, I already had not my place in your team anymore,
as making
Openbox an easy environment for the end users is the skill which I have
developed. (Not
JWM, not Fluxbox, not Awesome or Ratpoison… ). As we had formerly talked about
that on
the G+ chat, it seemed to me that you agreed to my proposition. I know someone
else who
we were talking with was also aware of that. I have mistaken on your real goal,
so I
apologize for my mistake and will now just remove myself from ToriOS.

I don't need to read again your wiki to know what you can do or what you can't
do. I am
not attacking you and I sincerely wish you success with your projects.

Dear Melodie,

>From the email above, I can assure you that there was a huge
misunderstanding. It seems we were talking apples and oranges. I don't
blame anyone but the mess and chaos which has been created and I've been
ignored when I asked to stop it, was the reason behind such
misunderstanding. Also, I feel that the one (me) who was cleaning the mess
and trying to stop it by putting the project on HOLD just because he's nice
enough not to address the people in names, those who ignored each and every
email I sent, then almost the same people have agreed behind my back and
offer me to step down. Well, I am so disappointed. Really. But hey, life is
a lesson and if you don't learn from it, you will have hard time. I have
learned a lot of lessons from ToriOS so far. The best lesson is:
Never get over excited + take it easy + KISS + Action speak louder than
words. And, I am still learning.

No hard feeling, dear friend. We're friend. I will not let a 'Project' to
be a reason to lose a friend. That can't be happen. You're welcome to drop
me a line every now and then. I promise I will 'read' and 'reply' but if it
is very long, don't hold your hopes too high :P

Thank you for your wishes and good luck with Bento :)
