Re: [tor-talk] legal status
george torwell: Well, it's a smart question. I don't think it has been asked before. No similar cases have ever been discussed. That's why you probable won't get a clear solution here. > adrelanos: maybe that could get me in trouble for not doing enough to help > the rights holder? I don't know the answer. That really depends on your country and laws. Like said, you should contact eff and/or a lawyer. ___ tor-talk mailing list tor-talk@lists.torproject.org https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk
Re: [tor-talk] legal status
When I started, after about 1 month, I started getting calls from my provider about the claims of downloading certain music and movies. In their TOS, they could shut me down from use if it continued and I did not do anything. I asked what port was being used and what was allegedly downloaded. The told me and I blocked those ports. Since then I have only gotten one other report and it was the same thing but the port was not a normal port for bit torrent use. However, I blocked that port also. Have not had any more issues. I run a full exit node and have for the past almost 4 yrs now. But as noted in other posts, it all depends on the jurisdiction you are in and how much of what you really want to do. Or how much you want to push the limits of your location ie: country Jon ___ tor-talk mailing list tor-talk@lists.torproject.org https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk
[tor-talk] Temporary pause for RPM updates
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Hi, there will be a temporary pause in packaged RPMs for Fedora and RHEL. The latest 0.2.3.24-rc and 0.2.4.5-alpha got uploaded today. Since I'll be leaving to travel in several days and be off the net most of the time, this is probably latest RPM update for a while. Expected date of resuming is around December 20 2012. The "LIBS=-lrt ./configure && make dist-rpm" still works for building from source for current architecture. There are also available the build scripts for multi-arch build (most things like paths, etc. are configurable): https://gitweb.torproject.org/user/hiviah/rpm-build-scripts.git Sorry for the inconvenience, Ondrej -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v2.0.14 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJQjbT+AAoJEAy6xNgMZCEgK+sIAKLyRROEf68SdDhOplvPkq8w E95Wv+SpLxDfd0ZiIhNf+0odNd8Lh1LwOsRExVoStKqKe9jrV6GYBP3wTgbkNF8X +LwrOsk6w19J9g+0kjQnTvHx+o8C/3Nv+Kqx0ggB4dGhCcUB8QGrZvQas9W4Varw kG59tEo8bOQs1iFvGufA0p5NGi5NrR2eek9qow61QQJvsLFbKpGVpW91WyH+ygMw l2/h1Xt1kOxn/qHAlp++lcHlZNsoMolPJ0YDqEb+6l+B2iNcEHBXdHxhVn3Fw2/9 a0Vsqulisd32PmOqGkSsbEl5pqFdwDUhLcessr9D2152vTepblZBh8TMvx9jxtE= =S3eG -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ tor-talk mailing list tor-talk@lists.torproject.org https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk
