I agree!!! :) I have an amd 586 and it's ridiculous slow with any wm. BTW, when
I want to see what I got with LaTeX, I use blackbox, since icewm is bigger than
it was these days.

GOd! your box is by far better than my best machine (p166+32m)

I had succes in a presario 4410 box with zipslack (i added the X stuff later,
by hand). This machine was the one I used in my last job. It the same video
card. I couldn't use the modem, though. :( -- i guess it's an error in the interface
between the chair and the keyboard ;-)

StarOffice and The gimp, I can suggest. See also Siag Office (really simple
and nice) -- in fact I don't use any of these, cause I don't need spreadsheets
and I try to do my Word processing by hand with LaTeX
