This isn't a guide so much as it is a quick reference for common commands, but it's got a bunch of *nix OSes... http://home.earthlink.net/~bhami/rosetta.html -Brian - Brian J. Do you happen to know of a resource along the lines of "BSD for Linux Users"? I'd class myself as an experienced used, having had extensive experience with several different distributions (currently using Debian) but as I want to be a Sysadmin one day I recognize that I need to learn a few different Unices. I'm planning on installing FreeBSD on a spare computer I have here and networking it to my existing ones, hopefully to use it as a gateway server when I get as far as grokking NAT etc. I have a book "The Comprete FreeBSD" by Greg Lehey which is pretty good but obviously oriented at somebody who hasn't used Unix before. It's been helpful and I have read through it, but something that covered -just- the differences would be even better! bekj -- : --Hacker-Neophile-Eclectic-Geek-Grrl-Queer-Disabled-Boychick-- : [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.tertius.net.au/~gossamer/ : Dare to dream, hope, believe, seek, feel, find, and love. : -- Mike Hull ___ techtalk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.linux.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/techtalk

But to me this seems like trying to "AMA-ize" linux or *nix. O know it seems the rage, but is it really worth it. Is there really an equivelent of the 3-years-of-basic-science in med school. Are there now an equivelent the 30 hours? 3weeeks? of basic linux. I have my doubts. Have Fun, Sends Steve P.S. I stuck this on techtalk cause it seemed the place where such stuff is considered. Someone should ask the FreeBSD community that too/
