I seem to remember that ownership and permissions for mounted partitions can be changed in /etc/fstab. I have /dev/hda1 /winvfatdefaults,uid=500,umask=022 1 2 in there, so that the windoze partition owned by uid 500 (yeah, that's me) after mounting and permissions are 755. For you it would be a bit different (gid instead of uid, different numbers), mount(8) and fstab(5) should be helpful. And yes, you don't have to put those options into /etc/fstab, you can just write mount -o Hope it helps marie <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> +37 250 43 040 [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.linuxchix.org
Re: [techtalk] 6.1 install, Victory!
Thank you one and all! I just finished my 6.1 install. Several people gave me small pieces which finally came together to win the battle. From how to mount the CD ROM (mount -t iso9660 -r /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom) and locate the boot.img file and how to copy it to floppy (dd if=boot.img of=/dev/fd0). Thank you!
