[Talks] N 86 adjusting phone

2013-06-30 Thread Rich
How do you increase the number of rings on an N 86 before the caller is sent to
the message box?
I'm a bit slow in answering the phone and would like to increase the number of
rings in order to answer it.

Thanks.

2013-06-30 Thread Stephen Giggar
You can't increase the number of Rings. You can increase the amount of time
before it goes to voice mail. You can only go up to 30 seconds. Your cell
provider can also change this for you.

To do it on the phone will dpend on what country you have as far as what the
items are called.

1. Menu.
2. Tools.
3. Settings.
4. Call/Phone.
5. Call Forwarding/Call devirt the 2nd option.
6. Voice calls.
7. Now select If Not Answered.
8. Select Activate
9. Look at the next few screen. One is to the number you want to send it to
and another screen is the aount of time. I forget which screen is in what
order.

After you do that. Then go back to the same screen and select Status and not
activate to see if it took or not.

Re: [Talks] Assistance required in copying text from websites

2013-06-30 Thread Stephen Giggar
Well you only can do it in a limited form. You can not select a block of
text to be copied. A sighted person also can not do this. The best thing you
can do is a Talks followed by a long 8 to copy to the clipboard the last
thing Talks spoke. You do want to set puncuation to None before doing this.
To see what is going to be copied to the clipboard with the Talks long 8,
you could do a Talks followed by the Pound/Hash/Number to hear the last
thing spoken. Note! If you haven't played with this function, then you may
be in for some fun stuff when you go and paste the last thing spoken. This
is where you learn by playing with it as far as how the Talks long 8 works
and what it does with the different punctuation modes and the like.

Even Talks release new updates, it's not that exciting. always minor
updates for the past few years.
So why wait and hope? let the people behind talks play around.

Agree. There is no proper editing feature for Internet. Like I said, they are
probably using other screen readers themselves.
