[Talks] E5 pros & cons
Hi It appears that i might be getting the E5 Nokia phone. I dont want to go for a high end touch screen phone, because of the technological changes that are about to take place within the next year or two in the Nokia phone seen. Can anyone on the list tell me what the pros & cons are for the Nokia E5 before i place the order? The specs appear to be quite reasonable. I think it will be a good transition phone for me, from the standard numeric slide N86 to the touch screen phones, because of the qwerty backup. It also has the call & end keys, 5 way navi and soft keys as backups for me. It also has great talk time, with the 1200 ma battery. Thank you. cheers Mario === Email scanned by PC Tools - No viruses or spyware found. hi, you wrote: > I think it will be a good transition phone for me, from the standard numeric > slide N86 to the touch screen phones, because of the > qwerty backup. maybe you should know, E5 is not a touch screen phone, it is just a qwerty keyboard phone. in my experience, E5 has no big issue with the current release of talks. Re: [Talks] E5 pros & cons
Hi. The E5 is a good phone. You do know, though, that it only has the qwerty keyboard, and no touch screen? If you want touch as well, you'd be better off with the E7 or up-coming E6. Excellent battery life though, and I love the keyboard'. Can you return it if you don't get on with such small keys? They are not for everyone. I love them myself, but I have the small, feminine fingers of a musician. I know men who find little keys a challenge, and actually prefer touch. fi (on Nokia E72) - From: "Mario Forte" Subject: [Talks] E5 pros & cons Date: 02nd June 2011 3:27 pm Hi It appears that i might be getting the E5 Nokia phone. Re: [Talks] E5 pros & cons
hi fi, i agreed with you. i just fortunate enough to touch the E6 2 hours ago, it is a great phone to upgrade from E5, E71 or E72 to a touch + qwerty keyboard phone. the E6 has all the fizical keys as like the E72 and with the capacitive touch screen on top. but still have no chance to test drive the phone with talks install, because it was a soft launch, so lots of people play with the little gadget. i will post some update whenever i got a chance to install talks on the E6 and test it. -- Cheers, Allan (WKF) "Life is impermanent, happiness is not a necessity, a person must cherish the people around them." - Original Message - From: "Fi Dunn" To: "Talks Mailing List" Sent: Friday, June 03, 2011 00:16 Subject: Re: [Talks] E5 pros & cons Hi. Re: [Talks] E5 pros & cons
I was reading about the E6 on line last night and it sounds good but it is the symbian Anna system. I don't know what that is exactly so I don't know if talks will work on it. I don't know if that's another name for the ^3 or if that's one of the new combined symbian/windows systems that nokia is working on. Stephen maybe you can shed some light on this. Excellent battery life though, and I love the keyboard'. Can you return it if you don't get on with such small keys? They are not for everyone. Thank you. cheers Mario === Email scanned by PC Tools - No viruses or spyware found. hi i'm not Stephen, try to answer to your question. symbian anna is a new version of symbian^3 but nokia does not call symbian with numbering anymore, thus symbian anna is a new version of s^3 which is pr2.0. s^3 release with pr1.0, pr1.1 and pr1.2, pr2.0 is called symbian anna. hi, in my personal opinion, talks 5.20 should work on symbian anna, but of course with some limitation, e.g. may not work on the new Portrait qwerty keyboard, the new adjustable widget size at the homescreen, and the new web browser. -- Cheers, Allan (WKF) "Life is impermanent, happiness is not a necessity, a person must cherish the people around them." - Original Message - From: "Denise Thompson" To: "Talks Mailing List" Sent: Friday, June 03, 2011 06:17 Subject: Re: [Talks] E5 pros & cons Thanks for that. Especially outdoor, you really have to cup your fingers and palm behind to form a space for you to hear better. It's as though the speaker is covered by the battery cover and sound coming out between the edge of cover and phone. - Original Message - From: "Stephen Giggar" To: "Talks Mailing List" Sent: Wednesday, June 01, 2011 8:47 AM Subject: Re: [Talks] New phone As far as I can tell the C5 only has one speker but not 100% certain being the speaker is someware on the lower back of the phone. Or what about the C5-3. I really like my e73, but the E phones only have one speaker on the back and if it's laying down or in my pocket or purse sometimes the darn thing is hard to hear. [Talks] Weather program at Blindsea.com
Hi folks, I am using the free weather program from the blindsea.com website. Does anyone have any dictionary files, icon libraries, or modifications they've made to the program for share? If not, does anyone know of a more accessible program? Thanks, Mal ___ Talks mailing list Talks@talksusers.com http://lists.talksusers.com/mailman/listinfo/talks Hosting of this list provided courtesy of: eHosting Limited: http://www.ehosting.com/ and Talknav Inc. http://www.talknav.net/
Re: [Talks] Weather program at Blindsea.com
hi! i'm using mobile weather as well and here it's completely accessible with talks 5.2. i can do everything with it such as add and remove new cities, view the weather and conditions for the selected city, sunrise, etc.. so just curious, why would you need a dictionary for it? thanks and best regards -Mensagem original- De: "Mr. Nemoy Malcolm" Para: Data: Sexta, 3 de Junho de 2011 10:10 Assunto: [Talks] Weather program at Blindsea.com Hi folks, I am using the free weather program from the blindsea.com website. You just need to go into the Object viewer and setup each of the roles to how you want things spoken in the detail view for the Mobile Weather program. Signed: Stephen Giggar Skype: dr-phone.
