[Talks] IM+ question
Hello all. Does the latest version of IM+ work for you with Talks? Because on my N86 with Talks 5.20.3, I can't use it at all. For example, I hear "contacts tab sheet", but that is all. Up and down on the navigation pad doesn't do a thing. I even looked at the object viewer, and I couldn't find a way of customizing the screen so that Talks could read the list of contacts as most of the objects were "unknown" or have undefined labels. I am for now using Fring, which looks to be stable on my phone. Many thanks. Take care. -- Chris Hallsworth ___ Talks mailing list Talks@talksusers.com http://lists.talksusers.com/mailman/listinfo/talks Hosting of this list provided courtesy of: eHosting Limited: http://www.ehosting.com/ and Talknav Inc. http://www.talknav.net/

Hi Cris I don't know about other peoples experience for IM+ But for me it's don't work for my phone I use Nokia X5-01 with Talks 5.01 it's cann't read contact & other but you can try to start with your contact with sms chat it's one thing that I can use it. but I prefer Fring if you want to chat by MSN it's have a friendly interface it's same you can chat in the history tab on WLM program on PC & it's have a EditBox at the bottom that you can type on it. Re: [Talks] Help with pairing a phone and headset
Hi Bernard Ok thanks for this, I got one of the cheaper nokia headsets from amazon, it works ok though with my c5 but I will try again with the other phone later. Now with the nokia headset if you have the same model as I do nokia ph503 on the right hand side you will find 4 buttons in a circle now the one that feels like a capital print c which is at clock position three o'clock is the function button. Press and hold this for about 4 seconds. your phone should beep and ask you accept pairing request for nokia ph503 press softkey1 and your done. Don't forget to set the nokia ph503 as authorized. Now when you press the function key which is the power key as well when the headphones are off only press it for about half a second. When the headphones are on and connected the button opposite the function key at 9 o'clock is play and pause. The button at 12 o'clock is rewind previous track while the button at six o'clock is fast forward, next track. back to the function key Press it for about 2 seconds you will hear the speech input tone after which you speak your voice command. To power off the headphones press and hold the function key for about 5 seconds or until you hear the long beep you hear when you power them on. You don't need to enter any bluetooth pin code when paring the nokia ph503. The 2 rubber buttons on the top edge of the right headphone are the up down volume keys with the front one being volume up. About an inch and a half behind the volume buttons is the charge socket and you can use the Nokia phone charger if it has the tiny round plug. Out of interest the microphone is also on the right earphone about an inch and a half from the up volume key a little slot near where the head band joins the earphone. I fully understand the level of resource required by the developers in producing and marketing the product. It is good value in a very small marketplace. Of course, that does not take away the fact the blind people have to pay this extra cost for something everybody else does not need to. That is not a fault of the development companies, who have to make a living. I guess that could be viewed as a DLA issue. Equally, when there is a significant upgrade to Talks I have no problem with paying for an upgraded licence. I do, however, find the £50 for a licence transfer an issue. We have already paid for a licence to use Talks. The transfer of the licence from one phone to another is required to avoid, or at least limit, piracy of their software, which is fully understandable . Talknav do provide a simple and easy means of transferring the licence. It is done without human intervention, in most cases, and its real on-going cost to Talknav and Nuance is minimal. The development of the Ap to do that should not have been a complex task in these days of tools to assist in "shopping" utilities. I really think that the price of the transfer should bear some relationship to the cost of it. After all, we are only paying for the privilege of moving a licence we have already paid for to another phone, which we have also paid for by one means or another. I really do believe that in the fully automated world we live in that this fee should be reduced. Clearly, I do not know if the level of the fee is set by Nuance or the dealership network. [Talks] Talks list
Hi I dont want to offend anyone nor do i want to be a party pooper, but Isnt this suppose to be a talks list? Why is there so much info concerning the IPhone on this list? It appears that this list is slowly becoming an IPhone list, with a talks label. Snipets of information concerning the IPhone comparing it with the talks environment might have some constructive input, but please lets not change this list to an IPhone list. Hello Listers. I would just like to post this reminder to all the members of the list. There have been several posts lately from several different people making requests of the list that only the Moderators should be making. Please let's remember that there are only 4 Moderators of the Talks list. So if you are not one of those 4 people then please keep requests or comments from your posts that only the moderators should be making. Also lets remember to try not to post one word posts. These only can lead to confusion. This is not aimed at anyone specific but just a reminder. Thank you.
