I would go look at their web site at

http://www.codefactory.es I think the mailing lists are under their support
section. If you go to the site map you should find it there.

2011-01-05 Thread Bernard Hemmings
what turned me off mobile speak at least until the next talks version is
released is that you can not use the built in email client with mobile speak
you have to use emoze and as all your email is transferred to their server I
would prefer not to use emoze so I'm hoping talks will firstly read the
symbol list on my e72 and secondly will give more functionality to nokia
maps.

[Talks] Using Skype on an N82

2011-01-05 Thread ANDY COLLINS
I have a sim only contract with T-Mobile in the UK. I'll be in Morocco for a
couple of weeks, and need to keep in touch. I know Skype can be used with TALKS
on a mobile, but have no experience of what I need to do to use the Skype
service. I know I'll need to install the software for mobiles, and probably buy
some Skype credits, will I then have to find a hot spot in Morocco to use
Skype, and will T-Mobile charge me for using Skype in addition to me buying
Skype credits?

Thanks for any help -

2011-01-05 Thread ANDY COLLINS

Hi Allan -

I've got the N82. Can I ask a couple of things then?

Is there anything I need to know about installing Skype on my phone, are
there settings or anything I need to do?

In terms of using wifi, is it normal to walk in to an internet cafe, and
just search for a wifi access point and select it, to start making calls?

Re: [Talks] nokia 6700 slide and nokia c 5

2011-01-05 Thread Thomas N. Chan
well, the latest firmware for C5 did make some volume loudness but as
comapred to my previous phone like N73, level 1 for talks is like volume 3
for C5.

due to the design of the phone itself, the speaker is at the bottom back.
6700 slide, it does have a higher volume as compared to C5 but the only
problems or a few issue I see is, it does not have WIFI support like C5 and
it does not have free navigation from Ovi Map.

They have a newer version of the Symbian operating system. Talks does work
on both of them. One thing to note, the C5 external speaker is much lower
then what is on your N95-8GB* model. So if you run Talks at lets say
volume 5 (default) on the N95-8GB* model! This would be like running the
C5 at volume 9 or so with Talks with the latest firmware for the C5. I can
not say how the 6700 slide is as far as speaker volume compared to the
N95-8GB* model being I do not own one of them.

Re: [Talks] Using Skype on an N82

2011-01-05 Thread ANDY COLLINS

Thanks for this, Allan.

Just looking at the Skype website, it says:

It's free to use Skype in a WiFi zone. If you use Skype with a mobile data
connection, operator charges may apply, so we recommend an unlimited data
plan.

So as long as I can find a free wifi cafe or similar in Morocco, then I
should be ok.

In terms of downloading the software for my mobile, it wants me to do it via
my phone in an sms. I don't know how large the programme is, but not having
a data plan, would rather download via my PC to avoid data charges from
T-Mobile.

There is only one zip file. The file has both the 3rd edition and 5th edition
install file. There is also the Talks dictionary to put in the correct place on
your phone. So read the information on the blind sea web site before using the
zip file. That away you have a better idea of what needs to be done.

Skype can be used with TALKS on a mobile, but have no experience of what I
need to do to use the Skype service. I know I'll need to
install the software for mobiles, and probably buy some Skype credits, will
I then have to find a hot spot in Morocco to use Skype,
and will T-Mobile charge me for using Skype in addition to me buying Skype
credits?

Thanks for any help -

Re: [Talks] Using Skype on an N82

2011-01-05 Thread ANDY COLLINS
Stephen - what is the TALKS icon or dictionary as you call it? I haven't
bothered upgrading my TALKS from version 4 on my N82, as some people said
there was little difference, so as well as wanting to know what this TALKS
dictionary does, I need to know if it works on earlier version than 5.1 of
TALKS?

Thanks -

There is only one zip file. The file has both the 3rd edition and 5th
edition install file. There is also the Talks dictionary to put in the
correct place on your phone. So read the information on the blind sea web
site before using the zip file. That away you have a better idea of what
needs to be done.

Hi Andy,

You can download it in a zip file from Blindsea and then unzip and install
on your phone. Make sure you download the one with a 3 in it.

In terms of downloading the software for my mobile, it wants me to do it
via
my phone in an sms. I don't know how large the programme is, but not
having

a data plan, would rather download via my PC to avoid data charges from
T-Mobile.

Re: [Talks] Using Skype on an N82

2011-01-05 Thread Stephen Giggar
Well beings you are running version 4 of Talks, i would suggest installing and
running version 5.01.1 of Talks. I would say that the icon file that is in the
zip file for Skype has been produced using that version. I have no idea if it
would work with Talks 4 or not. Your welcome to give it a try. The worst that
would happen is none of the icon information will be read out for you. What it
does is to define the icons for Skype so that you know the status of the
contact in Skype.

Re: [Talks] nokia 6700 slide and nokia c 5

2011-01-05 Thread Kit
Yes, C5 no Wi-Fi. Free navigation yes. OVI also Yes.

To listen to it louder, cup your palm over the speaker at the lower back of
phone and you will get a louder sound. Of course, don't cover the speaker
completely. This cupping of fingers or palm could help in all phones with
speakers behind.

well, the latest firmware for C5 did make some volume loudness but as
comapred to my previous phone like N73, level 1 for talks is like volume 3
for C5.

due to the design of the phone itself, the speaker is at the bottom back.
6700 slide, it does have a higher volume as compared to C5 but the only
problems or a few issue I see is, it does not have WIFI support like C5 and
it does not have free navigation from Ovi Map.

hi,
since E50 is symbian 9.1 phone, i cant really remember the actual setting, but
you can try the following.

go to contacts > option > settings and there should be an option call "contacts
to display", change is to show sim memory instead of
phone memory and you should be able to see all the contacts saved in the sim
card.

HTH.
