[Tagging] Juice "restaurants"
What is the proper way to tag places that make and sell juice and fruit smoothies? Examples in the U.S. include Jamba Juice and Orange Julius. Alexander ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging

I could call them amenity=cafe cuisine=juice, because they are not so different from a coffeeshop, except for the liquid type. pgpwjXxZgCzIp.pgp Description: PGP signature ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging

I'd not choose amenity=cafe if they don't sell besides the juice also coffee. Look how quite specific the other tags are for places where you can drink, eg biergarten, pub, cafe, bar, kiosk, nightclub ... What about amenity=juice_bar? I must admit that I don't know Jamba Juice or the other, looked on their homepage and maybe fast_food with cuisine would also be an option, but then, if you can't eat there... cheers, Martin ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
Re: [Tagging] Juice "restaurants"
I agree with specifically tagging them as juice bars (amenity=juice_bar). They also don't all qualify as cafes, since they don't all offer seating, for example, if they're in a food court, or just a street vendor with no seating. - Serge ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
[Tagging] When was barrier=entrance abandoned ?
Hey On the wiki [1] barrier=entrance is marked as abandoned. Did I miss something or was this another edit without discussion ? cu fly [1] http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:barrier:entrance ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging

I don't remember a discussion about this. A problem with the edit is that entrance=* is not limited to the cases that barrier=entrance covers. For example, a barrier=gate could also be an entrance=yes/main. Of course we could adopt the assumption that a node of a linear barrier with entrance=* and without any barrier=* tag has the same meaning as barrier=entrance does now, but imo that interpretation should be confirmed by a discussion. I do use the two tags in a different way. If it is an entrance leading to something (eg. building/amenity) I would use entrance=* but for a small opening within a wall/fence I use barrier=entrance. This way I do not have to cut the linear barrier. > PS - fixed link: > http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:barrier=entrance Sorry fly ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
