[Tagging] Marking intersections complete

2010-03-12 Thread Alan Mintz
I'm doing detailed surveying and tagging of intersection turn restrictions.
However, I'm not always able to safely get pics from all four directions of
a typical intersection, so I want to be able to know to go back and do
those again later.

Any suggestion on how to tag an intersection as complete (that is, to state
that all turn restrictions have been tagged)?

Why not just tag those that are incomplete?

incomplete=yes/no

That would be most of the planet, as opposed to just a few thousand that I
may actually survey/tag :)

How about complete:x=yes where x is one of:

turn_restrictions
maxspeed
maxweight
bicycle
hgv
etc.

You are assuming others are going to mark things complete, or that
turning restrictions are static.

My suggestion allows you to mark things you are tagging as incomplete
until you can complete them.

Alternatively you can just add a note/fixme tag.

Re: [Tagging] [Talk-ca] FW: Canvec Product - osm format

2010-03-12 Thread Sam Vekemans
Cool,
As of right now, the wiki is the most current source for the tagging details.

The GoogleDocs chart is not far behind. :-)

Because this is a NRCan vanvec product (directly from the source) any
changes to the tagging structure needs to be directly with the
talk-ca@ AND NRCan directly, so then the master conversion program can
be edited.

So the wiki (although it can be edited) needs to be grayed out & a
notice put at the top indicating this.

So, the biggest change is in the new tag 'natural=landform;
landform=*' with a few subvalues.
I hope next week we can get that sorted out.

My aim for next week is to get a wiki link/proposal/voting page or
detailed section available for ALL of the canvec features. This way,
there wont be any surprises once the data is available :-)

This past week i continued work on wiki pages, (with some fierce
editing of aboriginal lands as an example) so please join in & help
make these wiki pages the best they can be.

Thanks,

The vast majority of intersections in OSM are complete (that is, all turn
restrictions have been tagged). Of course, that's because the vast majority
of intersections in OSM don't have any turn restrictions.

Verified as complete, on the other hand, is a different story. If you're
talking about verified as complete, then you're looking for some sort of
source:* tag.  Source:restriction=image?
