[Sursound] Paris AES
Just been looking through the Paris AES (June 4-7 2016). Although there's a lot of 3-D oriented sessions, the only mention of Ambisonics I can see so far is in the Heyser Lecture which Rozenne Nicol is giving. Even so, it looks a very interesting programme - I don't think I'll be going, which is a pity - so I look forward to reading reports here. Re: [Sursound] YouTube now supports Ambisonics (warning....part advertisement..)
Here's a 360 video, 1st order Ambisonic version of a piece that was performed at last years Sounds in Space event at the University of Derby (it was 3rd order Ambisonics and a 3 screen wide presentation at the time). The plan is to redo the video for 3D in the longer term - this is just a test really. https://youtu.be/i3TjIiaKDVU The 2-channel UHJ, standard video version can be found here: https://youtu.be/d2rrsjt44rs cheers Bruce On Tue, Apr 26, 2016 at 5:17 PM Dillon Cower wrote: > Hi Aaron, > > Currently the channel layout for upload to YouTube must be 4.0 or > unspecified <https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6395969?hl=en>; > e.g., with ffmpeg, specify "-channel_layout 4.0". Re: [Sursound] Can anyone share test HOA (higher-order ambisonic) recordings?
Hi Archontis, I just wanted to hear the difference in listening to first order and higher-order ambisonics, and also hear what they sound like after HRTF processing. In other words, for subjective listening evaluation of different types of ambisonics. Thanks for the tip about Zylia. Their product looks promising! *--* *Anastasia * > From: Politis Archontis > Subject: Re: [Sursound] Can anyone share test HOA (higher-order > > ambisonic) > > recordings? > > Hi Anastasia, > > > Dear sursounders, > > > > Do any of you have any HOA recordings you could share for some testing? > I can?t quite get my hands on a proper mic.
