Re: [Stellarium-pubdevel] Migration to github

2017-11-24 Thread Fabien Chéreau
Dear developers,

we just completed the move of the code to git (on github). You can now find
it there: https://github.com/Stellarium/stellarium

To make new contributions, you therefore need to make usual github's pull
requests

Thanks,

Fabien

Congratulations on the successful move!

Are translations still synchronized with Launchpad, or do you prefer
pull requests there too?

For the moment we are still using launchpad, we are still discussing about
a replacement which could synchronize better with github.

Any suggestion is very welcome!

If you can't run your own Pootle, I'd say that Transifex is the best
option. What I like about it from a dev standpoint is that is also has
an issue tracker, so translators can post issues directly to the strings
or use them to ping developers if they don't understand something.

There is also a pretty usable glossary function.

Documentation for pushing and pulling translations:

I also like Transfex. It's a very good option indeed.
However, the main problem is that, AFAIK, Transifex doesn't automatically
sync/integrates with github (for free, at least).
That is, someone needs to manually upload the .po files through the
website. So, I'm not sure if Transifex would be the best option for us.
