[sane-devel] xsane - copie-mode and printer-setting

2009-04-26 Thread cool.chri...@web.de
Hello,

in my former system with kde 3.5 I started xsane with the option -c to start
directly in copy-mode, which I configured to use kprinter for printing.

Since I changed to KDE4 (and Kubuntu), there is no kprinter anymore - how have
I to configure xsane-copymode?

Hope you can help me.

Thanx and greetz,

Christoph

[sane-devel] Scan as pdf gives only blank page

2009-05-04 Thread cool.chri...@web.de
Hello,

I'm using xsane to create PDF-Docs to achive eg bills or other documents.
After the update from Kubuntu 8.10 intrepid to 9.04 jaunty the pdf-docs
allways includes only a blank page.

When I scan the doc as jpg, and then create the pdf with printing the jpg-file,
all is ok.

My system:

kubuntu 9.04 jaunty
sane 1.0.19
xsane 0.996
Epson Stylus DX3850

I hope, someone can help me? Thanx

[sane-devel] Epson MFP Stylus DX3850 via Net won't work

2011-01-20 Thread cool.chri...@web.de
Hello,

I've some trouble with my Epson-MFP Stylus DX3850. Local connected it works
fine in scanner-mode (also as printer ;) ), but connectet to my second
Fritzbox-Router (modded with Freetz), there is a Problem:

First Try after Box-Start and Epson-Start works fine.
Second Try (Box allways on, Scanner newly switched on) starts the xsane-
scanner-choice (I installed both epson-modules on the box), but crashes with
an error like "Error during I/O..."
Third Try brings only a box "no device found"

Here is the actual log of second and third try:

Yes, the Fritzbox is modded by freetz, and sane is installed as server with
the epson-backends. the log is createt in a telnet-session on the box,
normally saned should be started by inetd.

Hi,

I've just tested it with an Ubuntu-PC (Kubuntu 10.10 32bit), and there it
works fine. Also the mfp's printer-part works allways fine on the fritzbox and
on the pc (both over network!)

Hi,

at least, all my Test with the little Fritbox shows this: allways the first try
after the box was startet / restartet, the scan works fine until xsane would be
closed. It makes no difference, if there is a direct usb-connection, or
connectet via usb-hub.
After xsane is stopped, there is no way to scan again until the box is
restarted.

[sane-devel] xsane 0.993 and commandline-parameter

2007-03-01 Thread cool.chri...@web.de
Hi,

I've just installed the new xsane-release from packman (SuSE 10.2).

To start it normal, without any commandline-parameter, seems to work, but if I
start it with -c (to get it in copie-mode) will have no effect. Only the
search-Box comes up a short time, and then happens nothing else
(only "Speicherzugriffsfehler"). Also if I change the mode to copy this error
comes up.

The other modes seems to work.

Bye,

Christoph

Subject: [sane-devel] MFP - Samsung SCX-4521F
Message-ID: <45e695db.2010...@gmx.net>

Hi,

for the above mentioned MultiFunktionPrinter Samsung provides an Linux
driver which should work with sane. This was a main reason for deciding
for that MFP. I tried to use it with Ubuntu 10.0, but without success.

Samsung just wrote me, that the driver was not testet with Ubuntu :-(

At http://www.sane-project.org I just found the information, that there
is an untested version of the driver.

1. How can Samsung have an driver and the sane-project has not?
2. How can I get the untestet driver from the sane-project?

Thanks
Heiko

[sane-devel] no printing with "xsane -c"

2007-04-05 Thread cool.chri...@web.de
Hi,

i've a little problem with xsane using the copy-function via
command-parameter:

when I start xsane with the command -c (copy-function), I get no print on my
printer, but when I start xsane without any command, and choose "copy" via
button, all works fine.

I'm using SuSE 10.2 with all patches and xsane 0.994 from the
packman-repository

[sane-devel] no printing with "xsane -c"

2007-04-07 Thread cool.chri...@web.de
Hi Oliver,

I start it normally from KDE-Desktop, I created two Icons for it, copy
like "xsane -c" or "normal" with "xsane -s", without any path. So it should
be allways the same verion of xsane.

I would like to test if this scaner works with the genesys backend but had
some trouble.

udev won't make a device file so I made a rule:
<10-udev.rules>
# Scanner Genius
BUS=="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}=="0458", SYSFS{idProduct}=="2019", NAME="%k",
SYMLINK="custom/scanner", OWNER="root", GROUP="users",  MODE="755"

I would like to get this scanner working if possible. It's been there
dusting since I changed all my sistems to GNU/Linux about 2 years ago so
It's about time to get it working. The genesys backend supports the chip so
maybe it's just bad configuration.

I'm willing to make tests with it so please tell me if there's something I
can do.

Thanks.

Here's the info.

2007-04-08 Thread cool.chri...@web.de
Hi Oliver,

it seems, that it was not a problem of sane/xsane but something else in my
system. I've just installed some new updates (with you) and after it both
works fine.

Thanks,

and have some nice easter days

Christoph
