[sane-devel] epson 1250 working, but two questions

2002-06-14 Thread David Cougle
Ok, i got it working with plustek, but i have sane 1.0.8, do i have to
download the other plustek stuff each time there's a new sane? do i need to
download that module, or even use it, is it just for parallel?

also,is there a way to get the light to turn off on the button after a
while?

I asked about whether or not vantas 3000 usb would work in linux.
Apparently it's simply recognized as scanmodule v5.1 in windows, if that =
helps.

[sane-devel] more info on vantas 3000

2001-12-09 Thread David Cougle
sane-find-scanner # Note that sane-find-scanner will find any scanner
that is connected
# to a SCSI bus and some scanners that are connected to the Universal
# Serial Bus (USB) depending on your OS. It will even find scanners
# that are not supported at all by SANE. It won't find a scanner that
# is connected to a parallel or proprietary port.

sane-find-scanner: found USB scanner (vendor = 0x04a7, product = 0x0224)
at device /dev/usb/scanner0

what now?
I thought it was made by mustek, but usb device file mentions visioneer?
I'd love to get this working, the scanner is only $20 this week at office
depot:)

[sane-devel] what backend supports this scanner?

2001-12-09 Thread David Cougle
I have vantas 3000

cat /proc/bus/usb/devices reveals this...

T: Bus=02 Lev=02 Prnt=02 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 3 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=04a7 ProdID=0224 Rev= 1.00
S: Manufacturer=Visioneer
S: Product=USB Scanner
S: SerialNumber=RTS8801B-0001
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr= 0mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=usbscanner
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl= 0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 8 Ivl= 0ms
E: Ad=83(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 1 Ivl=250ms

and sane-find-scanner says this...
sane-find-scanner: found USB scanner (vendor = 0x04a7, product = 0x0224)
at device /dev/usb/scanner0

Do I need to edit some file for a backend or something? i have latest sane
and xsane installed.
