building an open database

2024-10-17 Thread Maxwell Terban

Dear colleagues,

I’m writing to inform you that Momentum Transfer has received funding
from the EU OSCARS program to build an open database for sharing
powder x-ray measurements. We want to populate the database with high
quality data, and have started sending out requests for researchers to
contribute materials to be measured by us at no cost. You’ll get
synchrotron PXRD & PDF data on your samples and help enrich the
database for the community.

We invite everyone on this list to participate; please fill out this form:
https://oscars-momentum-transfer.com/rietveld

For those that participated in the previous trial, we will be reaching
out about contributing your measurements to the database. There are
still some previously invited trial users that have not responded to
our messages; maybe my emails are going to spam, but please reach out
to me personally at max.ter...@momentum-transfer.com if you’d still
like to use your trial measurements before the end of this year.

Best regards,
Max Terban

RE: XRD Mineralogy Set; 50 different minerals

2024-10-17 Thread Susana Conconi
Hello Elena.

It would be advisable for you to previously request the purity of the
minerals because they are usually accompanied by impurities. This makes it
difficult to use them as standards for making mixtures.

Best regards

Susana Conconi

Asunto: XRD Mineralogy Set; 50 different minerals

Hi everyone,

Looking for XRD reference materials I have found this inexpensive set of 50
minerals offered by different providers. And now I search for
recommendations or review. Is there outside anyone using this set or another
one and what for? (I would prepare basic mixtures or use them for generation
of hkl phases).

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
