riak control configuration

2014-08-18 Thread Michael Lewis
—

Hi,

I have setup Riak on my server with the Riak Control enabled and authenticated.
Everything seems to be up and running fine, once I enable the
control port on my firewall, I can successfully navigate to
https://mymachine:myport/admin and it will ask for login details.

However, if I just put in the URL https://mymachine:myport it will show a list
of options …. { riak_kv_wm_ping, riak_kb_wm_stats , … etc…. }
These seem to be available without password authentication, is there any way to
ensure that just the admin guy becomes available or that
the base address https://mymachine:myport is authenticated?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Riak stalls, leveldb backend

2015-01-06 Thread Michael Lewis
Hi,

I'd be interested in the answer to this too, isn't it inevitable that in the
underlying storage you will get compaction delays, you see the same in any key
value store, eg if you were pushing lots of small packets of data into
HBase/Cassandra etc... Eventually the system has to perform the compaction ?
Not sure how you tune it so that you lower the throughput but remove some of
the compaction times.

Rgds,
Mike
