[RE-wrenches] Outback equipment direct from China??

2025-01-30 Thread John Blittersdorf via RE-wrenches
I was looking for sources of Outback equipment and found this:
https://www.fangpusun.com/fangpusun-flexmax-mppt-charge-controller-100a

Anyone heard about this? Are they the supplier to Outback?

Re: [RE-wrenches] Outback equipment direct from China??

2025-01-30 Thread Foxfire Energy via RE-wrenches
One of my customers bought a “New” Mate3s (from the new AltE folks).. plugged
in the MAC address for OpticsRE and it came up “already registered “.. Called
OB tech support, seems the SR and MAC address doesn’t match, the Mate3s with
that MAC address is currently registered and on line at a site in PQ.. and the
Mate3s with that SR was sold over 8 years ago.. consensus is that it’s a
Chinese knock off.. OB Tech says they’ve been around for a few years now.

Re: [RE-wrenches] 1/2 wave loads

2025-01-30 Thread Kirk Herander via RE-wrenches
Fortress tells me they just released the latest firmware to deal with
half-wave loads. This version was put out for download a few days ago.

In my case, they say it "might" help (CFL to) LED retrofit lamps from
flickering when switching grid pass-thru to inverter AC. I am dubious. but
I've since read that some LED lamps do not employ full rectification, just
a single diode.
