[RBW] billie bars

2024-06-03 Thread Turmoil Toybox
hello all

i wanted to get some opinions on the billie bars - im debating getting some
for a current build with bar-end shifters. i used to ride drop bars, but
making the switch ( i have albatross bars currently)

curious to know if ppl here ride them/ favorite bike set up with them?

[RBW] Re: DIY build or order complete?

2024-06-03 Thread Turmoil Toybox
amazing homer build loving the black accents

another helpful idea I’m always looking out for are checklists for builds.
I’m curious to know what people here do for rivendell specific builds - any
configuration would be interesting (drop bars, brakes, upright bars,
wheels, dynamo, etc)

thank you all for the feedback! helps a lot especially w that last photo

i’m planning on putting the billie bars on a homer hilsen w a tallux stem -
i have both thumbies and bar ends. i enjoy the length of the albatross but
wish i had a little bit more room for different riding positions

 Hi Raf,
I have an Albatross on my Toyo Atlantis.
But on the MIT Atlantis with long top tube, I preferred the Billie bar
specially the longer grip area which allows me to have more area to grip
 on
 the bend part.
But I use thumb shifters on the Billie :-)

[RBW] ISO/WTB 650b dynamo wheelset

2024-10-28 Thread Turmoil Toybox
hello all,
i’m in search of a 650b wheelset for my clem smith jr L. added bonus if you
have any dynamo front wheel for sale. i’m realizing it’s a little hard to
find these used for this wheel size.

or if anyone knows a good website to build from scratch minus the riv
website (which i’ll do eventually if i can’t find anything else)

happy weekend riding,
rafael

"collecting dust" in my mind makes it sound like you are looking for
heavily used and presumably cheap. Some people want new stuff, and search
the group just because the thing they want isn't available and they are
happy paying retail or retail + something to shake things loose. Still
others are just into avoiding buying anything new, on that consevationist
 tip.

 I've got a pair of brand new unused blue back-a-bikes. I don't
remember if I paid $158 each recently or $138 each a few years back. They
aren't "for sale" in the sense that I'm dying to sell them. My first/next
chance to use them may be 2027, so I could do something else. $300 picked
up off my porch in El Cerrito would be fine, I suppose.
