[RBW] Re: New Bleriot Owner; intro and some thoughts

2011-04-18 Thread EsCargoCycler
Steve, a few notes about the Blériot graphics:

Grant named the bike more after the plane than the man, I think. The
plane is so simple and sturdy that copies of it are still being built
today by hobbyists; it's quite accessible.

The portrait of Louis is really him, not just any olden-days pilot.
The depictions of airplanes are taken from mechanical drawings of the
very machine Louis Blériot constructed and flew across the English
channel. The tiny waving pilot on the headbadge is flying the real
thing with the real cliffs of Dover in the background. Even the
propeller on the seat tube decal is not just any propeller, but one
from a Blériot.

Of course no frame graphics will appeal to everyone, but these are
authentic in detail.

I'll be there in Booth 833. I'm selling prints and T-shirts using my
ink drawings of bike components. Stop by and chat! I'm looking forward
to meeting y'all FTF.
