[RBW] Who's drinking the Kool Aid?
I was trying to think of some clever reference to the Electric Kool Aid Acid Test, but failed. Probably the *only* think I don't like about riding my Hilsen are the occasional snarky comments about having imbibed in the Petersen Kool Aid. Never mind that everyone knows that we drink miruvor, or that I just happen to agree with riding with normal shoes, fenders, the "largest saddlebag I've ever seen!" (that was another comment, not uttered in an entirely friendly way), after years of experience... So I really want to respond by saying something about how this person or that drank the clipless Kool Aid, or the skinny tire Kool Aid, or the plastic saddle Kool Aid, and certainly the Karbon Kool Aid. But I never do. I'll bet other folks on this list have experienced this phenomenon... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: Who's drinking the Kool Aid?
I've really enjoyed reading all these takes on the "problem"! I probably should have said that something like 99% of folks are simply interested or complimentary of the whole setup... I live in the Bay Area, so I'm hardly unusual. It's just funny how sometimes I feel like a Company Spokeman just because I'm riding the gear. I find it ironic that somebody else, who also is looking like a company spokesman in their team kit is talking to me about my Kool Aid, lol. Love to all! [RBW] Re: rene herse crank
I've been riding the Herse cranks for a few months now, and really like them... I went with a 48/30. My main reason for getting them was the desire for a compact double with a smaller-than-34 (I ride in the Berkeley Hills a lot... love my 30t!). Shifting up for the 18-tooth jump works nicely. I do have one issue. In order to make the shift onto the big chainring, the derailleur cage is pushed out far enough and the Q is low enough that the crank arm rubs the cage as I pedal. At the moment, I just back the cage off a bit after I shift up (friction shifting). I wrote Jan about it, and he pointed out that the Campy "Mirage FB" front derailleur is pretty wide, and that, together with the 18t jump, might be the cause. I know a lot of folks here use that derailleur, so I thought I'd point out the problem. On that note, anybody got a good suggestion for a different front derailleur? [RBW] Re: haven't been riding my Roadeo lately
Glad the Romin is working for you. I was having the same issues with the B17: It solved 90% of all my saddle issues (sore tuberositis and saddle sores) , but was seriously killing my "nether regions" on longer rides. Because the leather solved serious problems I had always had previously, I tried several different leather saddles: Brooks Pro, Swift, and Imperial, as well as the Selle Anatomica Titanico. The Imperial solved my problems, as well as allowing me to tilt the nose up a bit more. The slot felt funny for a while, but after about 500 miles and several long rides, absolutely no problems. Yay! [RBW] Re: Not too off topic I hope...
I use the Lumix ZS15. Well, that is more or less what it is called now, don't have the camera with me. I use it taking shots on and off the bike. On the bike, I keep it in a handlebar bag. The "winder" bump out makes it very easy to get a firm grip, and the switching is all right there so you can operate it with one hand very easily. It also turns on rapidly, and has a decent lens. I've been very happy with the quality of photos, video, and sound. So there you go! Happy trails! On Tuesday, December 4, 2012 5:19:43 AM UTC-8, Will wrote: > > Manny: that film by Jesus is great.
