Re: [openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] Rejecting edits at the null island (0,0) (Issue #5279)
Speaking as one of the people who tends to get involved when people try and upload "wrong edits", it's quite useful to have some sort of canary around (such as a large bounding box that shouldn't cover 0,0 but does) when they occur. We'd typically want to look at what _else_ they have done wrong in addition to adding nodes at 0,0, since they or their editor clearly haven't sanity checked their data. -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/issues/5279#issuecomment-2429421883 You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread. Re: [openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] OpenStreetMap being bloat and not suckless (Issue #5436)
@x64x2 Almost nothing that anyone would want to do with OpenStreetMap data requires them to deploy their own copy of the OpenStreetMap website. Rather than creating an issue in the website repository here, perhaps it might be better to ask a question over at https://community.openstreetmap.org/c/help-and-support/7/none ? If you explain in more detail there what you're actually trying to do and what issues you're encountering, I'm sure that people would be delighted to help. -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/issues/5436#issuecomment-2558847845 You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread. Re: [openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] Modify the way "Friends" are added (PR #5261)
> https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/following#Noun, 4 (pedant alert) Someone on social media will have "a following", which is a group of people that follow them. The plural of that is ("followings") would apply to "more than one person who has more than one group following them", and wouldn't really apply here. The words "You are following" would work in the English version of https://www.openstreetmap.org/dashboard . Would that not fit because of space or translation reasons (i.e. is this word used elsewhere and must it be a noun)? -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/5261#issuecomment-2613978828 You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread. [openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] Reply to an OSM PM in an external email client results in "Mail delivery failed:" (Issue #5871)
SomeoneElseOSM created an issue (openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website#5871) ### URL n/a ### How to reproduce the issue? As https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/SomeoneElse I sent an OSM PM to https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/SomeoneElse2 . That appeared at the email address of SomeoneElse2 . [openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] Error contacting nominatim.openstreetmap.org: 400 (Issue #5909)
SomeoneElseOSM created an issue (openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website#5909) At osm.org in the search box there is a "Where is this" link. Clicking that seems to always give "Error contacting nominatim.openstreetmap.org: 400". Is this temporary capacity issue, something local to me, or something else? This currently happens in Firefox on a Linux laptop and on a phone (different internet connections). -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/issues/5909 You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread. Re: [openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website] `highway=raceway` is rendered as an area if it's closed (Issue #5931)
SomeoneElseOSM left a comment (openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website#5931) Actually, I'd suggest it's worth creating a topic in the forum first before raising it with any particular map style, since it's a bit more complicated than "if it is closed". There are both closed linear highway=raceway in the OSM data and also area ones. -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/issues/5931#issuecomment-2800963946 You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread.
